The 7 NEW Sonus faber Sonetto G2 Loudspeakers Explained (May 2024)

- On May 9, 2024, Sonus faber released the Sonetto G2 series of loudspeakers. The series is comprised of the III, V, and VIII floorstanders and I and II standmounts, plus the Center and On Wall models. All models feature new technologies derived from the flagship Suprema speaker, plus new technologies unique to this line.
In this video, project-leader Federico Tacchini and acoustics-engineer Florian Marmisse describe the models and some of these new features.

Impressive looking new line. Interesting shape on the mid-range drivers spreading out the frequencies of edge diffraction I suppose.

When is the actual release date of these? Seems like it keeps getting pushed back. Last I heard from dealers was August
The "official" release date was early in May, during the High End show in Munich. Since construction seemed to be starting up when we were there a couple of months ago, I would've assumed they might be in dealers already. However, the world is a big place, so it'll take some time to get all over. Perhaps someone from Sonus faber can chime in and clear that up.
was Livio Cuccuza not involved in the design of sonetto g2 i remember seeim him on sonetto 1 videos.
He is the main product designer there and handles the overall industrial design. These two work under him, but had the main roles in terms of this project and its acoustics.
Yes, as @soundstagenetwork says, Livio was involved in this project, including the industrial design. But the two gentlemen in the video were the ones who had to lead the execution of it.

Why do you feel the price is hideous? These are far from the most expensive the company makes.
@@soundstagenetwork Oh I know they can get into the hundreds of thousands but I guess I just hoped they would be more in the lumina range of affordability. It seems like to really get the standout features in these speakers, the cork chamber and Camelia mid-range driver, you have to spend $6500- $8K for the Sonetto V or VIII. It is a beautiful speaker and it seems like it will sound just as beautiful but for the 99%ers, $8k just isn't "affordable". I will definitely try to catch them at an audio show near me. I didn't mean my comment in any derogatory way to your video or the speaker, just the price tag lol. Thank you for this great video breaking down this awesome speaker!
@@michaelgochez7768 Hi, I've seen this speaker series twice now -- last month in Italy at the factory, more recently in Munich at High End 2024. There's no way with the curved cabinets, finish options, and new driver tech that they were going to get these in the price range of the Luminas. Definitely seek them out and decide.
@@michaelgochez7768there are some bargains to be had on the first generation Sonetto speakers , I got £650 off Sonetto 2 , I’m so happy , they sound and look beautiful 😊
