I saw this video 4 years ago having completed highschool, and it was partly because of this video that I started pursuing a math B.Sc. Now I am going to get my diploma in May. Thank you, I am sure there are many others who this has helped.
Why we learn math? Because we have to. Thats the only reason. Yes, we should learn it definitely but it shouldnt be most Important subject at school. I am on IT school. Hardest and most important should be Programming, HTML or networks but no, math is the Hardest and more important. Math improve your brain skill, its true but just few % of all students use it in real life. Problem is we probably cant change it. Our Kids and Their kids will be bullied Math Because They have it. These are sad times
Computer & information sciences are full of math. If you don't encounter mathematics in your IT studies, then you don't study it at an academic level. You're only talking to API's which do all the hard work behind the scenes. To really understand what's going on you *have* to understand mathematics.
Nope, still pointless besides basic elementary and middle school math. The only reason I care about learning math is to get an A and then get into a good college. I could care less

What I got from the video is this. If you want to do evil things learn math. But yeah I agree math is just another language to describe things that could be described easily and fluently but why do it when we can reinvent wheel over and over again our whole life :) Math is neither evil neither good its a matter of talent (like drawing or coding) that needs imagination on a large scale. You can live without it and you can do powerful things with it. And if you want to do evil things. Robots, CV, Nuclear weapons, Social Enigneering, Profit optimalisation, etc. math is a good tool.
Just like every tool, the holder decides what to do with it. However, given such a powerful tool (math) don't YOU want to learn how to use it to change the world? to reach for the stars? to get things that otherwise you wouldn't be able to get?

For example if someone wants to take commerce from class 11th so what is the use of that person what he had studied the carbon and compounds are all other chemistry is that he had studied in class 10 for before that for him that is the waste because he is not going to use it anymore in his life and why . I don't like learning mathematics. I think it's annoying and I think it takes too much of my time. I guess it's important for medicine, but I have no interest in medicine. Sure it's important, but I'm not going to do it, and it's not the only thing that's important.

What I really hate is Descartes, Algebra and any sort of math that involves numbers, number values and measurements (like calculus). It all seems very arbitrary to me to assign a "number value" to something. And the arbitrariness of it all really bugs me.

These math text books in middle school and highscool take math applications and put them into the most useless format. if the people in this video went to highschool today they would probably ask when are we gonna use this in real life
