The Harley-Davidson Road King is the stripped down bagger in H-D's Touring line. This is the bike of choice @2LaneLife's very own Josh Seiden. Josh likes the bigger chassis and saddlebags this bike offers for handling 800 mile days in comfort, while taking advantage of the minimalistic set up with no radio or giant fairing to interfere with his filming and focus while capturing the 2 Lane Life story. Does that windshield and fairing block enough wind to cut the helmet lift out on a half helmet? I like the look better than a batwing on this bike I have the exact bike color and all just looking for something to help with that helmet lift and make a more comfortable ride on longer higher speed rides
I like your bike but it bothers me that a touring bike that’s called a Special doesn’t already have top notch suspension and a comfortable seat.

I have a 2018 RKS . Stage 2 all harley parts , harley dealer installed . Did the stage 2 at 22 thousand miles . Do you really think that upsets the reliability of the bike ?

Its nice to make the bike your own by changing some things, makes it more personal. Thats an awesome color.You rode this bike with Matt Laidlaw in his video (Tombstone trip)and you had a hard case on the luggage rack. Can you tell me where you got that or put a link in please. Thanks.
How much wind protection are you getting out of this set up? I'm looking at my next bike and not a fan of the huge faring's and feel like I will never use the stereo in it or the gps, like you have have a quad lock set up for my phone and love it. I actually the other day was googling road kings specials with road warrior fairing. Not a lot of info about that set up out there
Same here I have a RKS with a Memphis shades not a big fan of giant fairings even though they might provide a little more protection.
The Memphis shades is plenty to keep the majority of wind off you chest .

Why the small faring instead of a road glide or street glide? How is it compared to either on the long hauls? I have an FXR with a FXDXT fairing but have been considering the FXRT fairing? Any thoughts for the long rides?

Pretty much modeled my bike after yours, Josh. Wish the guys at thrashin would come out with a cover plate for the risers, things are a bit exposed, but the road king plate looks good on the wall on the garage. The mid bend bars with the risers are a much better feel though. See ya down the road bro!
*edit* I got the 6 1/2 inch pull backs, should have gone up to the 9’s..🤷🏻♂️

Sucks your bike was stolen, but this one is shaping up well. I've kept mine stock in the engine and put my money everywhere else. GP fronts, Ohlins rear, Kraus risers and MX bar. It's set up to hit hard and ride all day. Hoping you could answer something for me. Didn't you have a box on the rear of the other bike? What was that set up? I'm a rolling photographer and I'm looking into a set up that helps my haul my gear from shoot to shoot.
I have the exact buke. How did you match the fairing color with the bike color. Did you buy the paint from Harley ?

My god, that is one beautifull looking bike. I like the Road King in general, probably because I really love police bikes and the Road King has been used as a police bike extensively, but that front faring (however you spell that, not my native language, dudes), just looks so f*cking awesome. Yeah, amazing bike. I am jealous.

You should get the fuel moto header without the cat and use the stock mufflers. Then load a dynojet “stock improved” map on there.
Bike rides so much cooler and better, you get better sound but it’s not obnoxiously loud.

I just won a set of 6.5 pullback and high bend bars from determined vet , I’m 6’5 are those risers to small for me on a 21 roadking?
It’s all preference. Keep in mind, as the risers go up, they also come to you. So sometimes taller can make the bike feel shorter

Nope, especially with the 17” windshield I don’t get any buffeting and have a nice pocket if air behind the windshield. With the shorter windshields, I got a little air to the face, but not much buffeting
