I’m into my 5th month of being my Dad’s full time caregiver. Your TH-cam channel has been such a blessing to me. I enjoy seeing your progress and how you all work together. I love it when Tony calls Tracy “my love”. Would love to be able to help work outside. Enjoying you all from Okeechobee Florida. Very best wishes for continued success in restoring your beautiful home.
Bless you. It’s a difficult job being a full time care giver for our elder parents. I did the same for my dad the last year and a half of his life and glad I did.
My husband and his sister just spent the last 4 1/2 years giving 24/7 care to their mother. They traded off on weekly basis but was really taking a toll on their physical/mental health. Bless you! It helped my husband to keep busy learning new skills. Via TH-cam he learned how to preserve fruits and vegetables, made jams and jellies, and dehydrated loads of veggies. It kept him busy and made time pass more quickly.
OH Laura I know how you feel. I cared for my parents for 25 years and it was brutal but I will never have any regrets doing it. You certainly do need distractions. Big Hugs! 🤗
Bless you, I know how hard it is to be a caregiver. I have a daughter that is in her 40’s and I am 74. I don’t know what may happen to her when I can no longer watch over her.
Loved the unexpected "hidden Chateau" and hope, if abandoned, it will find a loving family to rescue it. Great to see an American volunteer and please convey to ROB we know he's amazing not only for uncovering those long ago lost steps but for the Tshirt he was wearing at the outro. Cheers!
Sometimes getting lost is part of the fun, lovely to see you at Adrian and Carol's...gosh Jonathan is a great little worker. The chateau is slowly revealing its self, I didn't realise there was an orangery.
Ahh that hidden chateau was gorgeous!! I agree Ash, the brick on the turrets is off, but a good coat of chateau stone gray would fix that! This should be your next project, if it's still available when Lalacelle is "finished" haha! It was nice to see you at Carole and Adrian's chateau, I hope the bamboo grows for you! It was fun seeing Jonathon and Patrick helping! Rob uncovering the stairs, another wow moment! Looking forward to watching that whole orangery area come back to life! We don't realize how big your grounds are, methinks it's time for a real good aerial ride with captions! And glad the donkeys get a better home, even tho they're not yours, it'd be nice to see more of them, and the peacocks, too! Gosh, so much in today's vlog, I loved it!!
I really enjoyed this video it was fun! The donkey seemed to want to spend time with you! Or maybe he was looking for a carrot. I planted five clumps of bamboo in my back yard... it became a force to be dealt with... a real wild thing!! I did use the bamboo for so many things, even built saw horses out of it...they were beautiful and someone took them away in the night. The hidden chateau in the woods was very pretty but I like yours so much more. I have been following Carole work, work, work. Glad you have your first helping hand visitor. Thank you!!!!
Fresh eyes see everything anew. I have been dying to see the orangery! The building itself is so cozy looking and is lovely already. I’m dying to see the interior spaces! Welcome to work Rob! Great discovery!
Welcome Rob. The bamboo will be a great barrier if that’s what you need. So nice to see Carol and Adrian. I’m sure they were grateful of all that you took. Love the donkey supervising and Patrick digging 😂😂😂Thanks for sharing 😍😘
You are welcome to have all the bamboo from my property. Some fool planted it years ago and now it is massive and aggressive. The stalks are 4" in diameter and 40' tall. The fun part is burning it. The segments explode when heated and it sounds like a Civil War Reenactment!
OH it would have been awesome to see in that abandoned chateau! So very nice to see Adrian and Carol - hope the bamboo helps you out. The chateau community always makes me smile, so much kindness. 😊 Nice to see your new helper!
Hello to you - hardworking people! I want to tell you about a Danish garden show I have seen - there they had to remove a bamboo plant, the garden owner showed well that it is almost impossible to dig up Bamboo, so he contacted a company that was experts in it - the company used Dynamite, which they put around the plant, then they wrapped a tablecloth around - and then they blew up the dynamite. It was a very calm blast - and the bush came up with the roots. You can watch footage of it on TH-cam 👌
Loved this vlog. Packed full of all things interesting. Bamboo grows so fast it will be interesting how fast it fills up that space. Your new helper Rob finding the steps was very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Good that the Green bamboo was a freebie but if you want it in other areas consider getting Black bamboo. I’ve had a clump in for 20 years and it’s only just doubled in size. It’s not as invasive as the green. Xx
I knew that was Carol's place the minute I saw it! I love their show also we need to try to get them more subscribers they're great people! Love your videos never miss one much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
How fun for you all to go and see Carol and Adrian at there place! And get some bamboo! Nice plan to grow it to give a better view! Oh and it’s wonderful to have donkey moved to you can work on that building. Great idea to create a bistro to serve sandwiches to visitors. And Rob is lovely. So nice to meet you and see you help with this beautiful place. Some day my husband and I will come…
That villa cldnt hold a candle to yours guys....yours is geautiful...I've loved watching it being restored...those steps are amazing and to think you didn't know they were ther...
Welcome and Hi to Rob. That was great of Adrian and Carol to let you have the bamboo. We have bamboo at the back of our raised deck. It is totally low to no maintenance. It is about 15 feet tall 6 feet deep and 15 or more feet wide. I love the privacy it supplies. Awesome work all especially Johnathan. Rob, great find on the steps and walkway. Ash, I see you are a smoker. I am too and I have COPD and now regret not quitting earlier. It was cool in my day when I was younger to smoke. As a nurse, I remember getting reports in the mornings and we would all be smoking. Even doctors use to smoke seeing their clients. If I knew back then I never would have tried so hard to learn how to inhale this poison. If you can, please quick while you're young and handsome. God knows no judgement from me as I know the hold it has on me. Love and best wishes to you all. Love to see the dogs and the donkey also.
Watching someone die of the side effects this has would make you stop. GASPING breath and the treatments that you go thru just to buy extra time is awful GIVE IT UP AND WEAR MASKS WHEN YOU ARE EXPOSING YOURSELF TO THE ELEMENTS THERE ARE DANGERS IN ALL PRODUCTS DON'T BE SILLY
France was at one time the most populated country in western Europe- these chateau's take a lot to maintain and rebuild- its' a shame so many are sitting in decay.
There are two basic types of bamboo, running and clumping. Clumping generally stays where it's planted. Running does just that, run... everywhere. My sister constantly battles her neighbor's abundant crop. I've planted three clumping plants along my fence. I saw the look of horror on my neighbor's when I was planting them. This is their third season and they haven't moved at all. The downside to clumping is the price. They're significantly more expensive than running varieties and wouldn't be practical for your application or budget. Free is really the best price. I don't see the rocky soil an issue for bamboo. Getting it out of the rock, should you ever decide to, might be more work than the initial planting. The urns look so beautiful flanking the stairs and the balustrade turned out perfectly. Tracy, you are the hardest working person I know of. You're amazing! I got tired watching you. Where was Tony this week? I missed him. The stairs were a lovely find. The grounds are looking better by leaps and bounds. You all are renovation machines. It's wonderful to see so much progress in a relatively short period of time. BRAVO!
Every time I see u guys your digging. No chateau in France should be allowed to be abandoned. They’re all to beautiful. The video of all of you talking,,facing front door with the planters behind you look sooo nice.
I got a little choked up as I watched mother and son planting side by side together, I felt the love. It reminded me of how closely I stayed around my mum and loved her dearly until she passed.
Well done Jonathan digging up those Huge Bamboo plants. Nice to see you have a "Busman's Holiday" to CdlF and your stop at the abandoned chateau. How wonderful to have your first volunteer and to have him discover the steps. Way to go Rob. Love the idea of the Bistro/ Cafe in the field too. Cheers.
I hope that the bamboo doesn’t spread into the neighbors field. . It’s pretty close to the fence already😀. It is very invasive in all directions I’m thinking. Still, it will give you a very tall wall very quickly and very inexpensively. Love all you have done with other château owners too. Cheers!
Enjoyed. You all work so hard. I'm happy you have some help. The stairs are really nice to have uncovered. Beautiful abandoned chateau you've found. Johnathan is a magnificent little helper.
The lost Château was an interesting design. It was seeing Terry on Carole & Adrians TH-cam video's that I found yours😊Been binge watching ever since to try to get to current times and I've grown to enjoy & look forward to keep watching. It was great to see Johnathans proud face when he pulled up that 1st. large clump of bamboo
I just love your little Patrick he is the cutest digger ever and always eager to help 🥰 He gets his work ethics from you all. The Mullen you found is gorgeous!!! I’ve never seen Mullein like that. Common Mullein grows here on the edge old country roadsides. I collected thousands of seed and got a few to germinate 🥰 I always remembered seeing them in my Grandmothers garden. Look forward to seeing the Orangery getting some love 💕 TTFN ✌️
This video was so full of lovely things going on! I could watch it over and over. One can always dream of buying that abandoned chateau and becoming neighbors with all of you! I look forward to watching your videos as they give me a break from my real world.
It would be interesting to do a walkabout with someone who really has an eye for the native plants so they can show you what you have. Most of them are medicinal and healthy as well. Mullein is something I make a tea out of for my asthma. And I drink nettle tea and dandelion and burdock as well... all of them are excellent for health and it makes you feel like a kid... or a witch maybe... going into the wild (grounds) to forage for herbs. If you plan to create a kitchen garden you might want to transplant a few to make a tea section 😊 Be fancy! It's a shame that the ivy needs to come off of that arch. It has such a gorgeous secret garden feel or a storybook medieval castle. Is there a non-invasive version that could replace it? Buildings here in Canada are always covered in Virginia Creeper which is basically the same feel as ivy and is extra stunning in fall, but not sure what is best where you are. Always a pleasure! ☺️🦋
So nice to see you at Carole and Adrian's....their place is so beautiful and they have done so much on it. Glad that you all help each other out....love seeing that! Your plants should look great once they get going and what a good idea too! It was good to see the donkey again....he is probably lonely....maybe he needs a friend?? LOL!! I really enjoy your videos and always look forward to what you are up to. Thank you!! 💝
Just found your channel. Love it! What an amazing journey, and what a lovely group of people you all are. Its wonderful to see people working together with passion, skill, craft and love to save such a beautiful historic building, and do it with sympathy to the building, its style and history, not just bodge over the top and slap cheap new modern stuff over everything to get things done quickly. I also love that you are saving and rehoming the plants you find whilst clearing the property. I wish you all the best for the future in all your life and endeavours!
Seeing all the nettles always brings memories of my childhood in Selby. We always used to have to rub dock leaves over our stinging legs. Do the dock plants grow nearby too?
Excellent episode! #tracydigs, road trip, getting lost, chateau discovered, bamboo wrangled, Patrick never denied a fresh hole to explore, Jonathan demonstrates how digging is "in the genes," volunteer Rob unearths the steps, wildflowers discovered and re-homed. Lovely video work, especially the close shots of architectural details. Black and white footage is a nice touch, too. You really outdid yourselves. Y'all are a force of creativity and energy. Enjoy the rest of the week and I look forward to Sunday's episode. Cheers!
Bamboo is so hard to control once it gets established! I have it in my backyard and it’s taking over! Hopefully it doesn’t take over the field you put it in!
Thank you for showing us some lovely chateau's, and I would agree your's is much nicer , good work on the grounds Jonathan bless him doing his bit 👏nice video x💕💕🌼🤗
That view of the chateau at the end of the video is just magical, it has heart and soul now...and that crazy chicken...living in Florida I have bamboo as well, some 35 ft tall, it's amazing and nearly impossible to dig out, but the sound of the poles clanging in the wind like a giant windchime is spectacular...
What a lovely video. You have fun together even while you work so hard. I love how Jonathan works along side you and he did a superb job digging up the bamboo. Welcome to your volunteer. The uncovered steps are a beautiful discovery and bit by bit the chateau and property is looking spectacular. xx
Couldn't wait to see tonight's blog Love spending time with you guys Sundays and wednesdays is the highlight of my life Sè you all on sunday Love Johann South Africa
Hi everyone wow so nice to see Rob from CA out to help !!!! That was really wonderful to spend time with Carol and Adrian at there Chateau .Love the bamboo plants that will give you the Privacy you need. That abandoned chateau was really a find too bad it's not kept up Really needs tender love care. Thanks great video.😄
Loved the catchup. Your volunteer has discovered some wonderful stonework. The orangery looks interesting and a great place for your future campers. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. But oh I think you’re game planting that bamboo. I’d have gone to the expense of purchasing clumping bamboo for your screening plans.
After discovering the mystery chateau, I stopped watching and went hunting the net. Sorry, couldn't find it, yet. Ashe, you're right. Red bricks look off. It turns out, there were quite a few examples of adding the red brick to the facade. Still agree with you, tho. I'll keep searching, my curiosity is exploding. Great time you had.
It fantastic watch family working nonstop cannot wait to see what it will look like went it is all finished and all the out buildings are referred and put to use take care every one xxx
I think is wonderful how volunteers like Rob go to stay and work so hard when there when helping and they enjoy it. Rob uncovered those big steps and lovely walkway. I look forward to seeing it all tidied up, will be pretty when done.
Little Patrick is helping you Ash ( was that Louis or Sasha ) it good that you get together every now and then ( love watching carol and Adrian. How are the peacocks doing I saw them last week
Excellent video and of course the best bits were of Patrick digging! He never fails to make me laugh out loud. The little fella is so serious when he’s working. Jonathan did a great job too! Well done! How wonderful that ROB has flown all the way from California to help out, not only is it very kind on his part but the extra set of hands is always so welcome. Well done Rob (sorry about the Hornets) I have two donkeys who cannot be apart. Your inherited donkey is bad tempered because he is lonely. When we bought ours they explained how donkeys have to be sold in pairs otherwise they get terribly lonely....makes sense 💕😘💕 love what you are all doing, you are wonderful people xxx Alexandra,, Florida
Do check the bamboo! It does take over and afterwards it is very hard to get rid of!! Not sure your neighbors will like it ! It is lovely though, isn't it? Great idea for a little bistro! Tea parlour!
I love the idea of the bamboo becoming a wall. What a job digging it all out and what a strong little man Jonathan is! Welcome Rob! How rewarding it must be to see the clearing done and finding new life around the Chateau grounds. Looking forward to seeing the Orangery come to life. Another fantastic video folks!
Thanks for taking us along with you. So interesting to see how you got the bamboo and transplanted it. Nice of the people to share. Their videos are great, too. Love you all! Janice from Arkansas USA
I have officially binge watched from episode 1 to here. Each watch I'd think; just watch one. Spread them out. But nay, it became 'just one more' every time. I started to say here; 'shivers, this wouldn't be the same without *insert name here* but then I realized that you are each an invaluable component to the whole. Thanks for sharing this amazing journey with us. Now excuse me, off to start The Chateau Cottage.
Hello lovely family at the chateau xxx Tracy . Digging 😂😂😂😂Thank you for the trip out just what you needed I’m sure after all of your hard work xxx Much luv to you all xxxx
Good lass! Sending strength and love to you and Dad. 💖🙏🥳🌞
I LOVE Carol and Adrian and Chateau de la Ferté ! 😍
We do too 🥰🥰
Loved the unexpected "hidden Chateau" and hope, if abandoned, it will find a loving family to rescue it. Great to see an American volunteer and please convey to ROB we know he's amazing not only for uncovering those long ago lost steps but for the Tshirt he was wearing at the outro. Cheers!
I love, love, love that donkey!!!! He is sooooooo friendly!!!! Please don't get rid of him!!!
What a way to show Jonathan what hard work, determination and triumph is all about. You are one fabulous family.
I loved the look on your nephew’s face when he got that clump dug up.
Look of success!
The wiener dog, so cute.
Two hard working families together.
My fav chateau folks. It’s so great to see the support each family gives to the next.
The wee sausage pup digging away to help is adorable !
Sometimes getting lost is part of the fun, lovely to see you at Adrian and Carol's...gosh Jonathan is a great little worker. The chateau is slowly revealing its self, I didn't realise there was an orangery.
It was great day out and yes it is fun when you get lost 😂😂😂we would never hav come across that wonderful château 👍👍👍😊
That bamboo will break your hearts and run everywhere, the re two types clumpers and runners
Ahh that hidden chateau was gorgeous!! I agree Ash, the brick on the turrets is off, but a good coat of chateau stone gray would fix that! Oh my goodness, Patrick is adorable helping dig. You have to be careful where you plant bamboo it spreads.
Nice to see Carol and Adrian there.
Patrick is soo cute, helping you with the digging.
The white door and glass behind you on the terrace look so good! I love the flowers in the planters!
My favorite chateau families together - what a treat ;) A big welcome to Rob as well!
Yes. They are my favorites too. Love both channels! 💗

Loved this video! Robb is a keeper!
This was great to see Mom and Jonathan with Terry and Ash working so hard to help a neighbor so kind. Wishing Tony Happy Father’s Day.
Wow it’s wonderful that you are still discovering things on your land
I think that it is a hard-earned bonus of owning a more expansive and not well attended property! Adventures for years! And some headaches.....lol.
You are welcome to have all the bamboo from my property. Some fool planted it years ago and now it is massive and aggressive. The stalks are 4" in diameter and 40' tall. The fun part is burning it. The segments explode when heated and it sounds like a Civil War Reenactment!

I think it will want to grow toward the south, to seek the unblocked sun it needs.
Enjoyed. You all work so hard. I'm happy you have some help. The stairs are really nice to have uncovered. Beautiful abandoned chateau you've found. Johnathan is a magnificent little helper.

Maybe the donkey is lonely & needs a friend. Great find on the stairs by Rob.
Yes, they are hetd animals. Eeds a friend, horse mule or another donkey
I absolutely live for Wednesday and Sunday for these new videos!!! 😍
So nice to see you at Carole and Adrian's....their place is so beautiful and they have done so much on it. Glad that you all help each other out....love seeing that! They do say donkeys should be paired. They do better with a partner!
I was thinking that too that the donkey needs a friend... another donkey?
What is the donkey's name?
Just found your channel. Love it! What an amazing journey, and what a lovely group of people you all are. Its wonderful to see people working together with passion, skill, craft and love to save such a beautiful historic building, and do it with sympathy to the building, its style and history, not just bodge over the top and slap cheap new modern stuff over everything to get things done quickly. I also love that you are saving and rehoming the plants you find whilst clearing the property. I wish you all the best for the future in all your life and endeavours!
Thank you so so much
Love how beautiful the back entrance looks now. So clean and lovely. Your urns with petunias are so beautiful! Perfect! ~Dana
They are both beautiful 🤩! Everyone like their own home best. Your incredible château is coming along so perfectly!
Wonderful work, all! And how exciting to have Rob as your first official non-family helper. Hope you dig it, Rob! ;)
This was lovely to see the country side around you ...
Sad to see these beautiful old buildings deteriorating. Glad your saving your beautiful lady. Love your mom! She such a beautiful hard working Lady❤️
The uncovered steps are a beautiful discovery and bit by bit the chateau and property is looking spectacular. xx
Couldn't wait to see tonight's blog

Fijn dat jullie weer hulp er bij hebben
Veel succes allemaal 👋👋🥰
Possibly a problem to your neighbours field, love the donkey, great video yet again ❤️🇬🇧
I recommend geotextile fabric, even clumping bamboo gets away otherwise.
Easy to put in but really a lot of work to get out.
Great video, three château's in one 👍 "you two behave" best so far Ash xx
i find that clumping bamboo is easier to manage. it does not spread horizontal.
Fun outing! Surprise Chateau was great!
Lovely to see other areas of the property. Would love to see a tour of the whole property, is there a previous video.
Another beautiful video thanks everyone great to see you all 🥰
I'd be very cautious with the Bamboo, its very invasive, perhaps look into planting it in large troffs to restrict spread of roots
We will be putting something in place to stop it spreading 👍👍👍👍xx
STUNNING!!!!
Beautiful !
So sad to see the beautiful chateau abandoned. Great work everyone.
Love watching you. I would advise you to plant the bamboo in containers in the ground so that it dose not spread
I would go nuts if the neighbors planted it near my garden!
What a wonderful surprise the steps are!!
Thanks for taking us along with you. So interesting to see how you got the bamboo and transplanted it. Nice of the people to share. Their videos are great, too. Love you all! Janice from Arkansas USA
I think poor donkey is lonely.. he needs a four legged friend, they get grumpy when they're on their own all the time 🥺
I have officially binge watched from episode 1 to here.
OH OH Did Tony run away? I didn't see him in this vlog. Nice how Patrick helped dig up the Bamboo. lol
I like that hidden chateau, I see you have more help..great!
Hello lovely family at the chateau xxx Tracy . Digging 😂😂😂😂Thank you for the trip out just what you needed I’m sure after all of your hard work xxx Much luv to you all xxxx
Another excellent video

Excellent video. Of course the best bits
It’s like a fairytale beautiful!!!
The family is always putting a hard day's work... and the an ice cold beer and/or ice tea? Well deserved. Looking good.
