Yes I do make backup plans in my head and flesh then out pretty well, but then I just start doing them in my head and imagining the conversations I’m going to have and the routes I’m going to take, and feeling good like I’ve already done the plan in my head without actually carrying anything out

  • @ThornWolf1
    @ThornWolf1 ปีที่แล้ว +88

    I'm an INFP, and I definitely get sucked into my ideas and fantasies, primarily because if I have an idea I worry about forgetting it. I've come to the conclusion that if I have an idea for a story, for example, to just write it down/type it out, I don't have to worry about forgetting it. It doesn't have to be pretty, I can edit it to my heart's content later. But now I don't have to obsess over it.
    But I also really related to the ENFJ. I couldn't set boundaries for a long time and just got trampled by people, including the person I had a 6 year serious relationship with. He'd do something that hurt me, I'd tell him that, and he'd either explain it away or say he wouldn't do that again just to do it again later. And I'd forgive him every time because he knew how to twist it into making me feel like the person who was the problem, that no one else would have an issue with what he was doing, it was just me. It wasn't until after he left me for the person he was seeing on the side that I realized just how manipulative he was of my real need to try to see the best in people and forgive them for their lousy behavior.

    • @johnpett1955
      @johnpett1955 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah ENFJs and INFPs are actually pretty similar due to being shadow types.

    • @Ahnm1406
      @Ahnm1406 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry you had to go through all that. Such relationships can be very painful and can progressively make you forget what you think is right, what you like and dislike, and what makes you special. I hope you are recovering well!
      My ex-wife also left me after 5~6 years for a different reason. While she was truly a great partner and didn't push my boundaries, I was always too focused on supporting her, being by her side, following her lead, and I ended up forgetting about my own plans, friends and preferences over time. I see that as my own mistake, assuming we were a great team, our deep connection was more than enough and that I should work to make it last forever. Then it suddenly ended, and I felt completely lost for quite a while. I didn't know what the past years were meant for, where I wanted to live, what I should buy for myself, where I should travel to in my vacations. I realized I didn't even have close friends to talk about the divorce, because all of my closest friends at that time were actually hers, and I kind of lost them indirectly too.
      I'm also an INFP and it took me a long time to process those feelings alone and find myself once again. Keeping up with my writing and recovering my love for playing music helped me a lot.

    For me (INTJ) my biggest flaw was trying to stay in control of everything and thus doing everything by myself and horting resources, but barely ever using them. Quite ironic for someone obsessed with efficiency...

    Since INFJ was last, I was patiently anticipating what it could be… So accurate. I used to refer to myself as the workplace counselor because people just automatically opened up to me and used me as a tool to help solve their emotional problems. I actually enjoyed some of it, though other times it was very paralyzing because I didn’t want to be insensitive. In my family, I was often held responsible for solving others’ emotional dramas. Now I can say, “Not my problem.”

    I am an INFJ and my girlfriend is an ENFJ who I am still trying to kindly explain to her that I cannot be fed useless information about how her day went with people (coworkers of hers that I’ve never met before) because it bogs me down, and I end up procrastinating on creating my novel.
    Being an INFJ is awesome but it also kinda sucks sometimes when you have to tell people you that love to back off for like 5 weeks so you can level out your thoughts and emotions again, so that your creativity is free to vibrantly flourish again.

  • @hollyvincentart
    @hollyvincentart ปีที่แล้ว +67

    I related to both the ISFP and INFP. When I was younger I would always cancel plans at the last minute because I didn't feel like it anymore 😄I also really relate to needing to go into 'Monk mode' but now I'm a bit older, I've started to take action more and actually put some work in to get started on creative projects and it's made me feel really good about myself and like I'm making more of an impact by putting my art into world instead of letting it simmer inside my head, I'm even connecting more with others because of it. I used to not even bother to do anything physical with my ideas because I thought it would be a waste of time and no one would care or be interested in them anyway. My advice for younger INFPs is to not be afraid to take the first step, no matter how small it might be, because you never know what stairs that step might lead to ☺

    As an ISFP, I never knew ISFPs could be inconsiderate. Yes, I'm really moody and do whatever I feel like and whenever, but if it's hurting anyone in ANY WAY then I would never. I don't know if this is an ISFP thing or not but I'm quite good at observing/sensing the atmosphere/vibes around me and quickly notice if someone is uncomfortable with my activities.
    I'm think I'm okay-ish mature haha

    • @kellikakes81
      @kellikakes81 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Usually in the moment -- like in front of people (Se) -- ISFPs will do what you just said, but if they made plans with a group of people, some ISFPs have no problem instantly changing their minds last minute, to do what they "feel" instead of doing what has been planned for weeks, because those people aren't in front of them to feel that pressure (or maybe they're compelled to do whats in front in them at that very moment instead of the plan). Admittedly, I do the same sometimes, although I'm ENFP, but I push through more times than some ISFPs I know (we are known as flakes too but in my experience, ISFPs flake way more and for different reasons lol).
      (My "Ne" kicking in right now)
      Another way of looking at this behavior is empowering for an ISFP *IF* they tend to typically push through majority of the time (activating their Te too much) and then decide to be true to themselves and do what they truly resonate with at their core value (Fi) by "flaking."
      However, that's a different type of scenario (and usually a heated interaction lol).

      @@kellikakes81 I know, change of moods is for real in ISFPs. They may feel like crying one second and laughing the other. I think because the Se is constantly taking in the surroundings and that causes them to keep viewing different things and get influenced by it. The Fi also plays a role here like you said, because Fi doms do what they 'feel' like lol.

    I really like the way you came up with a story for each personality. It was probably time-consuming, but i think it really adds to the video and makes it easier to grasp for a lot of people. It’s also kinda fun guessing which personality each story was for and even the stories that werent my personality I still watch (for most videos I do anyway) because its interesting to learn about them in case I could meet one someday. I also really like how you improvise and don’t have a strict script that you stick closely to. It makes the videos a lot more interesting and fun to watch
    :)

    Another thing infj struggle with is accepting criticism. I like to think I’m mature, but it still blows hard hearing something I put thought into isn’t as good as I thought it’d be.
    Depending on how someone words criticism I can take it more easily if they say it like an advice, upgrading something per say, but if it sounds as if the thing I put thought into is bad, needing to be fixed, my face often reddens even though I know I shouldn’t be so embarrassed and shamed.

    As an ISTJ I can relate to the immature ISTJ (being too pedantic with rules without understanding the "big picture" intent), as well as the other close introverted types, the ISFJ (trying too hard to make sure everyone's happy and walking on eggshells for every interaction), and the INTJ (being inflexible with plans and not accounting for things that can go wrong and blaming others when it does). These are the things I've been working on over the years so it's pretty accurate.

    As an INFP, I found myself relating to ENFJ's one a little more. I think it's because i don't really go 'monk mode', I just think about writing that script whilst I'm going about my business. If I didn't have to go to school i would spend most of my time in my room doing nothing tho.

    I laughed hysterically at this, and I’m in public right now, so that’s awkward.
    INFJ woman here. I identified with the INFJ issues, and it’s a reason I isolate….people really have you enlisted to solve and listen to their problems 24/7! Dude! I have my own problems!!!
    But I also overly identified with the INTJ’s cooking shows because I’m an avid watcher of cooking shows. I’ve definitely taken in years of lessons….make sure my equipment is just right….and I’m not exactly a great Cook 😂
    I also identify with monk mode (although I’m usually really getting something done, even if it’s just inner peace work or catching up on house work).
    The other one that made me laugh really hard is the INTJ….
    Basically all the IN’s had me laughing way too hard!!!! We have issues.

    "Why not?" 😂😂 As a rebellious INTP, I will say I love this line lol.
    Edit: I was planning to get back to my comfort zone but since I watched your video for INTPs, I just realized I wanted to get out of my comfort zone again and socialize with other people even if it's against my will so that I can share my knowledge to them and of course, I can share my theory about molecules, theory in cognitive psychology, theory in political ideology such as the combination of Nationalism and Conservatism and the theory in personality psychology. Maybe the universe called me to watch your videos since I accidentally clicked this and the universe want me to get out of that comfort zone so that I can go in the right path. I appreciate this video!
