- The Berklee Indian Ensemble is delighted to present "Pinha" by Dhruv Goel.
‘Pinha’ means ‘hidden within.’ Based on a ghazal written by Fatima Wasia Jaisi, it celebrates the victory of the human spirit over adverse conditions that arise due to prejudices against gender, religion, and ethnicity.

Founded in 2011 by faculty member, Annette Philip, the Berklee Indian Ensemble is one of largest and most diverse ensembles at Berklee. Apart from performing original compositions and arrangements, the Berklee Indian Ensemble tours internationally, presents a wide array of South Asian folk, classical, and popular music, and has collaborated with various world renowned artists.

I dont understand a word, yet this has become one of my all time favorite feel-good songs to listen to.
the music and musicians presented here are amazing.

The song never wanders very far away from the feelings they're trying to convey in the beginning, the writing stays laser focused on that beautiful and uplifting atmosphere. The furthest they went away from that is that little instrumental interlude around 3:08 which feels more mysterious but doesn't feel out of place at all because it gives the song a subtle new dimension before landing right back to that main uplifting idea.
I love how they went about this, it makes the song very balanced in my opinion. Well done Dhruv Goel and Berklee Indian Ensemble !
