Upgrading? What did you upgrade? You just changed the chasis. That's like changing the dipers of a toddler. You did not "upgraded" anything of this console. 😅
My first console was a dsi in like 2012 the 3ds was already out and my mom agreed to buy me and my brother each one cause all our friends had them she accidently bought 2 dsi's and thought it was the same I still loved it
It looks like an almost perfect case replacement for the black dsi, although the power button not being the original grey was slightly grating haha. overall looks amazing!
Subscribing just for the explicit tips on getting the cables through the hinge. Been taking apart DSes of all variants for like a decade and getting ribbon cables through the hinge remains my Achilles' heel
Honestly was getting so frustrated with it 😂 doing one at a time is a game changer though, I repaired another one since this and it worked straight away! Just make sure you unroll it once the first ones through. Appreciate the sub!!
My trick for putting my screws down is it take a piece of cardboard and Coat one side with double stick tape. You just let it screws on it in the pattern you take them out and it's reusable and it holds screws great
My DSiXL that I picked up in December has been getting a lot of use this year, I think there's a lot of value in the extensive DS library and it's good that these handhelds are relativly affordable too!
My black DSi was matte. But I always thought all DSi were matte, and DS Lite glossy. Cuz my brothers blue DSi and my other brothers red DSi were all matte, but my cousins lite was glossy
The ds lite are usually only semi glossy on the top shell depending on the color with white,pink,and mario red being the exceptions with the white and pink having a clear glossy plastic coating on the tops and bottoms and mario red being glossy red all the way through
Im kind of disappointed that you had a misleading title. The only thing that you did was conduct a chassis/case swap, please don’t mislead your audience

I've thought about Canberra but people have said its a bit swampy there or something.
Lol I watched this whole video eating a bag of Doritos with my youngest son, thinking to myself "I'm glad the two black DSi's I have are in great working condition". Great video nonetheless.
I had 2 blue dsi and they are matte as well ,i think the outer shell on the white ones are glossy and the "mario" red color is also always glossy for whatever console nintendo makes,which is what the bottom half of yours was, they did the same with the ds lite as well ,because there was 2 different red versions ,crimson red ,which is what i have which was semi glossy on the outside and matte black on the inside and mario red which was glossy red in its entirety inside and out

i get junk dsi for 20 $ with some fungus inside of the screen. When i tried to open the case the bolt near the catridge slot getting rusty and i cant unscrew that, do you think drilling the bolt might unscrewed that? im kinda hesitate to do it since it might damaged the pcb, any help will be appreciated
It’s a very small screw so that could work, be very carful. You could try a little bit of isopropyl then a small elastic band on top of the screw/beneath the screw driver. That’s worked in the past for me
not gonna lie clickbaity video, you simply did a reshell of your console, no upgrade. I thought you were gonna add a bigger battery, or better displays or something like that
For me, re-shelling it was an upgrade from what it was and made it new again but I totally see where you’re coming from! You’ve got me really thinking though and I’m putting together ideas for a new video. Thank you!
I've replaced the case of my 3DS XL, and can't recommend. The feeling of the cheap plastic is terrible compared to the original plastic, can't describe better but is at least unnerving
Oh dam, what colour did you change it to? I’ve seen in other videos colours don’t match but I’ve never had a DSi to compare this black one to, but quality wise mine was good, especially for it being cheap

The black official DSi is Matte Black. Mine still looks pretty decent but I got a Mario DSi XL for $30 & now I use that.

I’ve bought a few from eBay, usually for around £30, or extra with games. Just make sure the seller states if they’re working or not

Mario red and white were glossy ,the only two which he combined into the electrode dsi from the beginning
