A fascinating story. My father told me stories of his time in the Hitler Youth. He claimed he was never as gung-ho as the rest and emphasized his negative experiences. When society pressures you to follow the wrong path, it is the rare person who can resist. Those who can change and admit the error of their ways deserve forgiveness and encouragement.

As i understand Kremlin, Putin and FSB have a success, They have silent the people of Russia
They don't dare to talk even to their friends.

People should NOT come together, they may TALK to each-other and realize they are NOT ALONE

Thank you Julia, for this interview. As an American, I lean towards believing her story and hope for consistent 'strokes of luck' in her future. But, as a supporter of Ukraine, I find her words shallow and self-serving. She can not resist the need to be in front of the camera. Interestingly and sadly, her phrase 'it is what it is' seems truly insightful, in their abjective, acceptance of their situation. Her use of "The big war" instead of the invasion of Ukraine also raises a red flag. Imo, she is simply a typical Moscovite that got out when the opportunity presented itself. Slava Ukraini, Free AZOV, Return the Children, Crimea is Ukraine and VPDFO.

You are reading too much into this. You realize even calling it a "war" in Russia can land you in jail? And yes, there is a reason for her to be on camera and tell her story -- it may encourage other people to quit the regime as well.

It should have been clear from the start that anyone who opposed Putin should have kept their mouths shut until they were safely out of Russia. Broadcasts, internet blogs, and other means of voicing criticism of the Russian government including in Russian would have been safe and could have carried on in opposition groups with far less danger. Staying in Russia was a major risk that could have resulted in prison and death. Russia was already a fascist nation with a fascist government. The misplaced love for Russia, the illusion, the naive hope that things would get better kept a lot of people from seeing clearly what was coming and what danger they would be in staying. Russia is now dead. The minor day to day gains for villages and towns in Ukraine can't offset the utter collapse of Russia's military, economy, political and social cohesion that will result in the end of Russia. Within five years everyone who has not left Russia will be dead. The conditions to sustain human life in that froze over hell are dwindling and will completely disappear.

Navalny was dangerous for Putin due to his ethnic Russian centric program, he was sort of racist. Russian Federation can collapse only if ethnic Russian do it like in 1918.
