OMG! I lived in the Macon area for 20yrs while raising my daughter, have been to Lake Tobosofkee many times! Love the area but do NOT miss the heat and humidity! So glad you shared the beauty of Georgia, thank you!
Hi Nancy. It is a nice little oasis as many travel down I-475. Since the campground doesn't advertise, it's one of those locations that's often shared as nice places to stay when we camp with others. And you are right! The downside to life in Middle Georgia in the peak summer months is the mid 90's and humidity in the same range. As an Arizona friend of mine once said, "it's like living in a steam sauna." That's when we load up the 5th wheel and head to the mountains for a couple months. The upside, it may hit 70 today and sunny. Great to hear from you. Jerry...
Loved the campground. Stated a while in the partial hookups and a week in the full hookups on the Lake. Peaceful because you are off the roadway. Never knew about it until we saw your review.

Hi Jody. Make sure you save a couple days for downtown, Allman Brothers Big House, Hay House, downtown restaurants and brew pubs or just chill by the lake.
We have stayed here a few times for 2 or 3 days at a time since 2018. It's a shame they have let this beautiful park run down. On our past two visit in 2019 it has just gotten worse. We camped on site #25 on every occasion. it's definitely not a level site. Campground bathhouse never appears to be cleaned. If you read a lot of reviews on the internet you will see all the complaints on the bathhouse. But, for the price we will keep staying here when we need to be in the Macon area. You got to try the Fish & Pig restaurant on the lake right near the entrance of the park. Love their low country boil. BTW...I bought my Harley Davidson at the Macon Harley Davidson when we stayed at Claystone in 2018.

Yes but where is the public restroom? If it takes you 10 minutes to get down to the beach, it will no doubt take me 20, and I am going to have to go! Other than that, this was a great video, very informative!
What a nice little campground. The views are great. So much to do and see if you have time to venture out. Good fish and BBQ at the Fish and Pig next to the Marina. Great wing place one exit up off I475 at Buffalos Cafe. 3 brew pubs and a tap room downtown. Tour the Hayhouse. Tour the Big House, the Allman Brothers Museum. Definitely go to the Ocumulgee National Monument, free and a great place to tour, hike and see the sites. Have fun. Jerry...

That lake is a must do place to go. yes much to do around there...Definitely saved both the campgrounds ⛺️ in my google maps to visit.
Try to book the campground early. The lake views fill up quick in season. Hope you get a chance to see the town soon.
We live 4hrs SE of this lake and never heard of it' Thanks for turning us on to it.

Watsadler is another one right on lake hartwell. 20 dollar sites lake front. Beautiful small campground.

We go here often, Arrowhead has the awesome mountain biking and hiking trails.

Check out the Arrowhead side of the lake. If you haven't stayed on the west side, they've made a number of updates.

No issues. There are public restrooms and showers close to the campers and down by the beach.
Travelling in a classb, do they allow you to drive to town without fear of someone claiming your site.

Great campground,,,but sewer outlet is uphill of campsites,cable did not work,other than that ,it was great
Do they have alagators or big snakes there. I'm from Michigan we dont have them up here.
No alligators. There maybe snakes if you go looking for them. Area has good people traffic and that keeps most the critters away.
No this is a high recreation lake. Been going for years! You will enjoy.
How are they about pets? Are pets allowed?
They are with typical leash rules.

Yes... better during the weekdays.. as weekends have a lot of boats, etc.
