The story is all over the place. When you don’t care about not even one character/cp at the end of a movie, you know they dropped the ball big time and didn’t bother pick it up. Those are not the story worth to be adapted. The actors worked hard though. Poor them.
Ok that was just mean. A 2 hour movie with so many cliffhangers. I don’t want to take anything from the actors, who did a decent job, given the material. GRANTED I watched using CC so I missed canyons full of nuances, but I still thought it was a decent show because it wasn’t all cutesy. Parts of it were dark. The number of characters kept expanding. Couples changed, which is normal, so not a problem for me. However, why the couples changed sometimes was “eh”. Most of the lack of coherency I’ll lay at the CC’s door, but the unforgivable is the cliffhanger, the movie bifurcated the original couple and then the story became two separate stories with nothing holding them together. So it was a bit frustrating to watch, but interesting, but the ending left me irritated not for anything story related, but because it ended on a third character, leaving me devoid of any caring for any character. It would have been much better to divide these into smaller movies. 1 The original couple until they separate. 2 Two movies with one focusing on each of the original couple. If the intent was to show their is love after first love the movies can end happily or introspectively.. OR 3 If the intent was to bring the original couple back again to have them come back together in a final movie. Film School 101, have to have a climax, unless you are Harry Potter, then you can get away with an abrupt ending.
