Thanks for sharing this collection, especially the vintage *gtdupe* . I might buy a Dior or Fendi bag one day. Love the vintage style. Right now my favorite bag is the LV Pochette Metis reverse shoulder bag! But my LV Speedy 30 Damier Ebene and LV mono GM Neverfull come in second and third. Have a great week!.

I saved up money for a few months to buy a ZP, but it got scratched on the third day. I cried so much, and then my boyfriend bought me a bag from *esluxy* for me to carry alternately. Anyway, there are so many bags on the street, so as long as others can't see it, I think it's fine. The thought is there.

I have two pre-loved *esluxy* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

Hi I’m just at a point in my life where I’m starting to buy luxury handbags….. the first took me a whole 3 months to purchase, I knew which bag I was buying and put it in my basket every few days, then after weeks and weeks of ummming and arhhhh ing I got to check out but really struggled to do the purchase. My issue was the news saying how the cost of living was impacting people and me thinking what I could spend £3k on it messed with my head till the second I had started unboxing the bag ! Even my husband kept saying every night when he got home, have you bought your bag yet in the end he said he’d just buy it if I didn’t. As soon as I opened it and saw the quality and my husband saw the joy on my face straight away any issues I had buying that bag had dissipated. Now saving for my Chanel classic flap which has always been my dream bag or a Hermes Birkin not sure which yet but one or both will be bought at one point and no I won’t feel guilty again. Thanking you for another fabulous video ❤😊

@@sharonpalmer8844 I'm the same, just started buying high end luxury bags. Each piece is thought through because of the price tag - but they have to be bags that make my heart sing, especially as I have mid priced items that I really love and will be using for years.

  • @nancitinkelman8830

I guess I don’t think about it if it’s worth it or not worth it. I do not purchase luxury bags to “keep up” with influencers TH-camrs or friends. However, whether these items are worth it or not, it’s all relative. If I see a bag in a luxury store that really calls out to me, I will make a decision based on how much I love it and if it’s “worth it” for me. So I will never make a blanket statement that I am over luxury or that I’m really into it. It all depends on how I feel when I see the bags or other luxury items and go from there.
    Another awesome video btw!

I realized after all these years that I do actually love and enjoy my luxury items. I'm not gonna feel guilty anymore and apologise because I own them. Since I got them, I made sure that I use them every time I go out my door. We just went to the beach and I have my sturdy LV pochette and rosalie wallet in my Bitsy Bogg bag. Sooo cute! Hi Deb! After watching your video yesterday, I came up with an eleventh reason to walk away from luxury. But after today's video, I thought of an eleventh counter-argument: luxury items make great conversation starters at awkward family gatherings! Think about it - when your aunt starts asking when you're getting married or your uncle goes off on his latest conspiracy theory, you can always redirect the conversation to your latest designer purchase. "Oh, this old thing? It's just my new limited edition handbag. Let's talk about that instead!" Thanks for the entertaining and thought-provoking videos. Keep them coming!

I LOVE shopping luxury! I always have since I was a teenager. I will continue shopping luxury for as long as I am blessed enough to be able to. I know it’s not for everyone and of course that’s alright. I love the luxury shopping experience, personally. Whether it be bags or shoes or ready to wear or even housewares, I am into it. I don’t do it to show off or try to make people envious. I do it for me. It’s just my thing. And I don’t mean this as harsh as it may sound but I could care less what anyone thinks of me. It’s a hobby for me. I love building my collection. Again, I do it for me. Nobody else. It is something that I do that makes ME happy.

I agree with all points in this video. I don't understand all the discussions about handbags. A new expensive car quickly loses 20,000 in the first year. But we don't talk about that.
Of course the prices for the most exclusive luxury bags are too expensive. The billionaires are welcome to treat themselves to these. I own some nice bags from Louis Vuitton but also Coach. I'm happy with them, they complement my wardrobe. I see a big difference to very cheap bags made of cheap plastic with crooked seams, and I often think it's a shame that women (and men) who could actually afford a nice accessory get out of their expensive car with an old cheap bag. Even if I had very little money, I would always pay attention to the design and beautiful workmanship. But that's also a matter of taste. I'm a big fan of your sensible perspective and your way of looking at things from all sides, thank you very much for that!

The Dior case is not alleged. Dior and a few other companies are put under court administration in Italy due to mistreatment of workers by some of their subcontractors.
As it was done by subcontractors it has not put me off Dior yet. My SA says that Dior treats it’s employees well. But I wish Dior would respond and explain.

In the end I will buy one more luxury bag this year. Which will make a total of two luxury bag purchases for 2024. I bought the Speedy B 30 from store and love it! I’m not sure what my second one will be. It’s fun watching my fav TH-camrs so I can make an informed purchase. For instance, on how the YSL bag annoyed you. That was so good because it would drive me crazy. I may forego a bag and buy the LV nice mini for make-up before prices increase again. I love your videos and don’t plan to give up luxury bags and SLGs. Thanks for your consistent videos. I look forward to them!

❤thanks for this video. I will continue to buy luxury. I’m young and still very much enjoy. I like logos, I like some quiet looks, I love luxury as a whole. As for Dior, I agree. We don’t know things just because we read a headline. What I got from it so far is that one of their contractors was found guilty and it was apparently regarding one bag that is currently discontinued and was discounted prior to this coming out. I don’t know. I fear everything we consume these days face the same issues even down to food!

I love my Chanel bags and wear them for me, to make me happy not for anyone else ;).

I don’t quite get this argument about prices of bags should go up so you can get your “money back”. Most goods that people purchase to use are not investment pieces.

    • @Wildunfiltered
      @Wildunfiltered  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

There is a school of thought that if you bought a bag for £5k a few years ago and it is now £10k to buy - then you may be able to sell it for at least £5k as it is now half the price of the new in store one. If the price doesn’t go up much then you will not ever get near to getting your money back x

It seems to me, that all I hear about is Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Fendi, Loewe, Gucci, EC when it comes to luxury bags. But surely there must be more how come no one talks about the other luxury brands that may be in other countries, but are still considered luxury brand, especially one selling in Europe. I would like to hear about some of the other lesser known but just as luxurious brands out there. And I don’t that are not considered luxury comparison and Kate Spade. I mean the ones that are just as expensive as the luxury ones I mentioned earlier.

Watching both of your videos I have to say I'll take the safe road here and say both points, completely valid. I think for me in general; the accessories are a good way to go if you like luxury, would like to someday resell items, and spoil yourself. I don't look for luxury with clothing, but focus on materials. I want it to feel good on my skin, but don't care at all about the brand. My accessories- I need it to last and I want to like it. When it comes to glasses and sunglasses, it's jewelry for the face and that I spend money on, especially since it's on my face. I usually go for luxury brands because they are worn for a time and I get them insured and I know if it's luxury I can eventually resell them. With bags im a mix, yes i love luxury bags but for me personally I feel like I'm more in tune with high end than spending thousands on a bag and worrying about it getting worn out or mishapen etc. peace of mind just says dont go over 500 on a bag. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Luxury, for me, equates to quality, so regardless of pricetag it has to feel luxurious. I have two high-priced bags, but several mid price bags, and I'd say that a fair few of my mid-price are up there with the big players. I have a Gucci Horsebit Mini in coated canvas, and it's a bag I bought because I love the specific colourway, I also have a couple of bags from a Danish brand Decadent which is a brand that I don't think is known outside of Denmark - I'd say the quality of those is superior to my Horsebit despite a much lower price point (that it's more under the radar is a plus point for me, and their customer service is second to none).

Having a big collection can often feel like we have a hoarding problem 🤔, and we may even joke about it 😂 , and that MIGHT be another reason why some people are having a dramatic knee jerk response by SO CALLED 🤨🤨 , freeing themselves of their ' habit '. ?! There might also be an element of guilt , because of the expense . HOWEVER !!!!!!! When you are talking luxury , bags , shoes , cars , bikes ,.. bedding 😁😉😜, you can NOT compare it to the big piles of old tin cans or newspapers you see piled up to the ceiling on hoarding horror tv programs ! Sure we might look our collections and sigh , if not just for the thought of the other things we might have spent all that money on , but to just throw it all away to me is just ridiculous and wasteful ! I have had times in the past where I have got carried away with certain items , and my obsession will then usually turn to something else ! 😂😂
I think a FAR better option is to shed the lesser used or lower QUALITY items , I like to refer to it as STREAMLINING !!! 😁😁 That way you are not giving away all that hard work , time and also YOUR SOUL ! 😆😊❤X

The raw truth is that these brands really don’t care anything about the people who buy their readily available products and see them as a means to an end.
Because people can’t control their thirst for public validation and are delusional about the their place in the world when wearing these items they will mindlessly spend money they don’t have to buy bags and trinkets that cost a tiny fraction of their retail price to make.
Now the brands are flipping the script. Selling you the same exact products that are readily available but jacking up the prices continuously knowing you’ll do what ever it takes to buy.
What’s worst is the real luxury goods they sell which are exclusive to the real 1 percent are at prices 95 percent of the population can’t afford even with credit. The exclusive items that cost 30K and up. Everything else is just advertisement for the brand. I saw a duffle bag at Gucci for 78K and there’s no way you’re buying that. It wasn’t made for people like you or me.
I was literally at an outlet mall today and there was a store filled with Channel bags, Dior, LV, YSL, Gucci, and more. All the items you typically see at the retailer boutiques.
So much for exclusivity and real luxury. But I’m sure people will still break the bank for the illusion of wealth and status that in reality is just a pipe dream

Personally if I have too many luxury things they’ll cease to be a luxury to me. I get used to them and then I want something more - a bit like bag creep that Dayle first spoke on. I will still shop for luxe items but not so often, nothing this year (so far). The prices do deter me as well, would rather spend on other things and mainly enjoy what I already have because I don’t get to carry them enough as it is, so why add even more? 🤷🏻‍♀️

They are stunning bags in your collection, but at the end of the day they are just bags. I have 4 ‘Luxury’ bags. I also have far more Coach bags. I have a few Aspinal bags too. Hard pushed to tell the difference in quality really, though l love and use them all. Coach are phenomenal at the moment and have been in the last few years! And Aspinal are lovely quality too. I think the Luxury label gives people status, a ‘feel good’ feeling. But Hermes do not personally interest me, the bags look old fashioned to me, and their Sales techniques are frankly appalling by the sounds of it. Why would anyone tolerate that! I have personally found Aspinal and Coach have excellent customer service too. I am sure other contemporary brands are excellent too. There are other factors too in purchasing luxury bags - not just in cost or 2nd hand value of the bag if choosing to sell. Added insurance costs possibly, the raised likelihood of being mugged for a bag, and as you say being involved in an awful scandal like Balenciaga and the value of your bag would plummet.

Why can’t good quality goods be available to the general public? Believing things are only valuable when only a few people can obtain them is such a poor statement on humanity.
There is a difference between style/class and elitist luxury. The only time I buy it is when I know I have to be present in a room where others may only take me seriously based on what luxury goods I brandish. And it sickens me.
