Classic Splat, he completely missed the underwater room. And later even wondered about building underwater.
The screenshots of the underwater rooms on the store page are gorgeous, it is a pity Splat missed them

BTw I think they should make it so that the happier the people leave your place, the more options you have for incoming travelers. It would give you a reason to feed them well on the last day and it would feel like they left a good review or something to help your reputation!

Yes, I am enjoying the artwork, and it does seem like a cross between an inn house sim and a colony builder. Cool art style.

Thanks again Cattersplatter for another interesting discovery.😁 These indie games with their original concepts and designs are keeping PC gaming alive. While the triple A publishers are trying suck the very life blood out of gaming in the way Hollywood sucked the soul out of the film industry.

I would add returning visitors, that come with an extra bonus if they left their previous stay with max morale, that way there's an incentive for player to not cheese out on the meals, and try to keep everyone satisfied even on their last day, because they may return later with extra goodies
Following this idea, you can also punish players that starve their visitors, by having returning lodgers that left with low morale, just decide that instead of staying they will keep going with the caravan, which would cost you workers and residents, because some left and no new people came to the lighthouse.

This turn based pace makes this a Dead In Vinland successor. That's a good thing.

Ooh, I remember a tech demo a couple years ago that showed off stacked buildings and some animals running around, and very bare game mechanics. I wonder if it was this.

Antropomorphic animals are so creepy!
Tooth and Tail has the best anthropomorphic animals. Not too cute, not too realistic. And it focuses on wildlife. No cats or dogs.

I’m watching this with a buddy, and his exact words at 25:35 were “I’m pretty sure Hitler was a nicer guy than he is.” 😂 Needless to say he didn’t like the way you played the demo, oh well, this game does look like it’ll be fun as fuck when it releases. I could see myself jamming to some 2000’s deathcore and playing this game for hours on end.

Actually the thick lined art style was first introduced way back* in the first Borderlands. It was actually an artifact of the way they were rendering textures, but they decided to keep the style when they saw the unique look the game had. Plus it seemed to fit the humorous story they were going for.
It has since been heavily copied in many games.
*For the youngsters in the audience.
Try going back to the Amiga days. Fade to black, for example.

I think the travelers only leave after you fulfill their "ambition", so if you want to keep one of them, just do not complete their request and they will never leave.

That small mistake prevented me from instantly finding it on Steam. Mistake happens xD
Is there perchance an option to turn off the blur effect on the background when windows/characters are in the foreground? My eyesight isnt great, and when something looks blurry I've developed a habit of focusing on it to see it better, so counterintuitively blurring the background makes it more distracting .
