So I recently watched an interview with Kirk Fogg who hosted this show. Apparently, they did 120 episodes of this show (5 episodes a day apparently) and of those 120, there were only 30 episodes in total where the team who went into the temple run actually WON the game. That is the reason why the temple runs were so hard.... because they had a budget for the year for the final prize that the contestants won and and they had to "manipulate" the show to make sure they didn't exceed that budget. That's also why if you notice, the teams who didn't get into the final round had silly prizes like a movie or shoes or Nesquick.
And also, the choices are yours. not all the doors are locked. actually completing some things in one room could open a door in another room, but you wouldnt really notice anyway
By the way for anyone who follows the Temple Run I think I've found the crack to the entire system for the most part. Wherever the artifact is, expect the other floor rooms to be used. (Meaning if the artifact is in the upper floor expect the lower floored rooms to be used and if the artifact is in the lower floor expect the upstairs portion through majority of the run) Now it isn't always true but I'd expect this thought to sink in if I were you. And by the way in Season 3, The Tomb Of The Headless Kings had a very unique system if used. Whenever the selected king's heart beats, the left king sends you to the Jester's Court and the king on the right sent you up into the Chamber of The Sacred Markers. Plus 12 of the 14 triple seizures in the entire series actually happened because the second player forgot about the other half to their pendant, but the other 2 only had one pendant of life going into the run.
Each round represents a hallmark of a good doctor jonse 1 the mote: resilience 2. The steps of knowledge: knowledge (the sometimes random questions are to test general knowledge, not just the legend knowledge) 3. Fitness 4. Bring it all together.
I love this series and the plot behind it. Rewatching this because I enjoy it. Hope that you are able to make season 2 one day. I will be waiting patiently for it.
You made some interesting points and I would like to offer my views of the show. The Steps of Knowledge used to be my least favorite part of the show because it just felt like a boring history lesson. Now it's actually one of my favorite parts because they seem more like an exciting or mysterious legend. Even though the Temple Run was my favorite part as a kid, those temple guards scared me! They were also the reason why The Dark Forest was my least favorite room. I would be alright with this show being brought back if they stayed true to the original idea and didn't try to spice it up with pop culture references or modern technology.
Dear God, I loved this show! This was my favorite Nick game show and one of my all-time favorite Nick shows of all time. The physical challenges were intense, the legends themselves were informative with a little bit of humor sprinkled in, and the Temple Run was, and as far as I know still is, the coolest bonus round in any game show I've ever seen. Despite the low win rate, I would always cheer for them to win. And might I add, Orange Iguanas all the way!
i loved Legends of the Hidden Temple, while you may think some things were sketchy, i think they just had more production value going on later in the series. i think they made the best Game Show that they could with History and Legends in general, i just wish it had lasted longer, but i guess they ran out of legends... my review score - 8/10 Enjoy It!
OMG! I remember watching the channel. Nick GAS when we first got cable. this, GUTS, Double Dare, Figure It Out, and one more show I can't remember at the moment
@Grid17Productiions: This was definitely your best video, but I say that because this is one of my favorite game shows. When is the newest video going to come out after Double Dare?
I remember watching this game show and the temple guards scared me as a kid. As for this episode I like it so far. I really like this show so far and I wouldn't mind you to continue with reviewing games shows. I do wonder if you're going to just do nostalgic game shows ? Just Americans ones ?.
you do make up some good points, but i do remember the prizes being very lucklaster comparing to those of double dare. i mean candy?? a skateboard??? ... still its one of my favorites. :)
Really retarded how Nickelodeon cancelled the show after it was doing good...and The only thing i think would work out for a remake would be if Kirk Fogg hosts again, im sure he would say "yes", he still has it in him, and have Dee Baker back (if he won't be a deuce and ask for more money)
You could forgive the Silver Monkey Shrine due to the fact that you had the clock on your back and Kirk Fogg down on the floor yanking away doing play by play I dont think anyone could concentrate with all that going on
I'm disappointed when you talked about how much the Purple Parrots sucked, you didn't mention the Golden Pepperoni episode ... the most hilarious fail in all of game show history!
You know, based on what I've seen from the trailers so far, I actually am. Of course, I'll have to see the final product before I render my final judgement, but so far, it's looking quite good!
@Grid17Productions: Um... excuse me? "Galileo's Cannonball" was NOT the first episode aired. The first episode of Legends ever aired was "Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress". Everyone in the Legends fan community knows this. Well, except you evidently. If you're going to review a game show, do your research and get it right.
Going by IMDB's episode guide & other episode guides, I'll have to concede that point. I thought the lower episode number of "Galileo's Cannonball" would have made it earlier to air. They both did air on the same day from what I can find though (September 11th, 1993).
And I'm willing to concede that I might have been a little harsh in my reaction. It was your first episode, and your first error. Sorry for the unsportsmanlike conduct, Captain. Also, please note that the IMDB episode numbers for Legends are COMPLETELY WRONG. The official production numbers are known, and can be found by visiting the webpage nicklegends.elfractal.com/episodelist.html. This episode list shows the TRUE production order. However, as for the order the episodes aired in, well your guess is as good as mine. But I know that the Headdress episode aired first, because I personally remember watching it on 9/11/93.
Wow, what a horribly long intro/waste of time. Let me just say that it was your intro that led to my decision not to watch this video or any of your others.
+ilikethecokev2 If the treasure was in the middle of the temple, the teams were SOL. Unless had a ton of luck on your side (And two full pendants), there was no chance.
Elise Leon It's true. Kirk Fogg himself said he ran the temple within the time limit with the doors open and he wanted to throw up afterwards. And he's a full grown adult. For a kid... I can't even imagine.
It's worse than he made it sound. In the 3rd season they used teenagers. The younger kids in the first 2 seasons had practically no shot. Sometimes they couldn't even reach stuff. The host saod they had about 6 winners a season, which I presume was for 6/40 for each of the first 2 seasons. And they shot 5 episodes a day, starting the temple runs about 14 hours into the filming schedule. They weren't exactly fresh and ready to go. And the further the first kid made it before getting caught, the worse it was because the second kid had to start from scratch almost every time. The best strategy (which none of the kids thought of) was to give both pendants to the faster runner and have them go second, then hope the first kid get caught quick.
This game show may not have gotten a modern-day remake, but it did get a movie adaptation late last year. I recommend it. It's actually a pretty good movie, even if you aren't a fan of the show.
I'm inclined to agree! Story-wise, a little "meh", but it's still pretty decent. And if you're a fan of the show, you'll have a blast finding every single reference in the film, and there's plenty of them!

Olmec, everyone's second favorite 90s giant talking head. Behind Zordon.
I like this, but the airplane thing is a little over the top and unneeded.
You know, I've actually wanted someone to do something like this for a long time. You finally did that and I appreciate that.
Advice: Drop the 6 hour intro clip.
The intro ends at 3:02.
Thank you!
Cool. I remember watching this show on Nick GAS, a nickelodeon channel that had game stuff and nickelodeon gameshows.
And also, the choices are yours. not all the doors are locked. actually completing some things in one room could open a door in another room, but you wouldnt really notice anyway
Pendens of life are like Sonic's bubble shield with no rings

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't mind if this game show was remade.
Why is everyone hating on the intro? He has to let the audience know what's going on with his show, and I really like the concept he's made :)
The whole time traveling idea is... bad.

What about Family Feud? That updates itself well, right?
And a live action TV movie remake was just announced. XD

+TheBlackBeltPanda It actually looks really good. Hoping the game show is possibly coming back.
I would like to see a Review of the game show Finders Keepers.
So, quantum leap just got ripped off. Is the reviewer going to meet God at the end?
I REALLY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL - WITH A TOUCH OF SI-FI - LOVED IT !!
i loved Legends of the Hidden Temple, while you may think some things were sketchy, i think they just had more production value going on later in the series.

yeah that can really show XD

Childhood fav
My favorite Nick game show!
The Temple Guard Capture @ 10:54 was my favorite reaction I need to find out what episode that was from.
That would be the Bent Shaving Pan of Jedediah Smith.
Thanx, jennings861b but I found it elsewhere.
like the old 90s show intro to quantum leap
How does this channel have less subscribers than Oddity Archive?!
they made it to a movie which is on tonight on nickelodeon
i remember i ALWAYS wanted to be on this show :")
You could forgive the Silver Monkey Shrine due to the fact that you had the clock on your back and Kirk Fogg down on the floor yanking away doing play by play

I actually agree that they shouldnt remake LOTHT. Nick brought back figure it out and that was just terrible.
Press Your Luck was not made by FremantleMedia, its sequel, Whammy!, was.
First time viewer and it's looking promising
why did u quit making this series?? you should make another season plz!
I thought Blackbeard's Treasure Map was episode one
Temple guards, only reason i used to hate this show
You should do Wheel of Fortune, Shop Till' You Drop and Figure it Out.
it is coming back
love legends
Do My Family Got guts or global guts or guts
now aren't you happy they aren't bringing the game back they made it into a movie
You know, based on what I've seen from the trailers so far, I actually am. Of course, I'll have to see the final product before I render my final judgement, but so far, it's looking quite good!
john walther yes although I never saw this show on TV but I did on this AKA TH-cam
Grid17Productions can you review the game show Survivor?

0TanookiSuit0 His first episode.
A reviewer with a story to go along with it.
That is okay.
As long as shortens it, it's a good intro.
Hi
Trust me, the TV movie based off this game show really sucked.
Really? I gave that movie an A+. But your opinion would explain why it aired only ONCE.
Why do you have to have some back story dude just review the show.
10:26
Wow, I had no idea the win ratio was so low.

You keep calling him Kirk, his name it Kurt
Pretty sure it's "Kirk Fogg"

What a flop review! Better watch a game episode than listening to this rubbish. Wasted my ten minutes.
