- Eigg is a small island off the coast of Scotland, populated mostly by sheep, the dogs that keep track of them, and the 109 local residents.
You wouldn't think that such a small island would have need for a taxi service, but you'll be surprised! Charlie is the only taxi on the island. He moved here looking to find a slower way of life, and a community who place greater value on relationships and conversation than they do on their mobile phones.

Who is Green Renaissance? We are a tiny collective of 2 passionate filmmakers (Michael and Justine). We live off-grid and dedicate our time to making films that we hope will inspire and share ideas.

That's always true all over the world. The current system, however, forces you to keep pace with the kind of life they want you to live. You step outside the system, and you become isolated. The question is, how could you best serve the greater good? By isolating yourself, or by accepting the rules imposed on us by the system? You are not always in charge of how the world functions, but you are always in control of how you relate and react to that.
When you watch a video and become homesick for a place and the people you've never met... Thank you!

"you don't have to keep pace with life, you make it work for you." I heard this and I'm holding back tears right now. These are the words of a person who reached the point of frustration and has come through with some hard earned wisdom. I'm almost done being on the terms of culture and consumerism. Not there yet but you sure helped me go a little further.
He's living a life where other people crave: a serene and contented life.
I'd like to meet this man, ride on his taxi and have a real conversation, And I think this Island in Scotland is a beautiful one.

I relate to the cow traffic 😂 I live on Matakana Island population 250 in New Zealand, one barge twice a day to the mainland.....it's completely untouched. Very privileged

Long live Scotland 🏴, last year i was wee bit close to go there when British Consulate (TLS Contact) in Munich lost my passport after they stamped visa on it. The Scottish accent alone is sweeter than a glass of apple juice if ye ask me and I’ve heard nothing but good & beautiful things about Scottish people and this Santa is one living example of it 🎅
So nice listening to this happy man, detached from the digital world which is swallowing you and me, and dehumanizing us. A good hand shake is a good hand shake. Same here. Watching videos like this and listening to Celtic music really stirs that longing. I feel like a lot of people with Scottish descent who live in other parts of the world presently feel the pull as well.

Once again a heart warming production that makes you appreciate what matters in life. Shaking hands and hugging... how people are meant to interact with each other, touch is one of the most important senses. I will continue to do these most human of things regardless of what the ‘authorities’ would have us believe that we're merely just carriers of disease.
We all miss the that human interaction, we can't wait for things to go back to "normal". Thank you for taking the time to watch these films.

What a beautiful film, he's really come to terms with life, really figured it out. The wisdom of years and lessons hard learnt I guess.
I feel like he has been hurt in the past, and came to the island to be as far away from possible but the island saved him and showed him the good in the world. He seems like a genuine human being.

I used to drive a Taxi in a little town. It afforded me the opportunity to be of some small service to those in need of transportation and maybe a bit more.
