- On The Hunt Palmer Show, we dive into the latest Saints mock draft and what it could mean for the team’s future. With needs across the board, the Saints must focus on taking the best players available. At pick #9, Malakai Starks, a safety from Georgia, is mocked to New Orleans, followed by Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden at pick #40. Both come from powerhouse programs and bring big-time athleticism to the table. Could this draft class be the spark the Saints need to rebuild? Let’s break it down.
Here's a Saints mock draft based on their needs:
# Round 1, Pick 9
- *Mason Graham, DT, Michigan*: Graham is an absolute game-wrecker inside for the Wolverines. Some scouts have him as the best overall prospect in the entire class. With early quarterbacks and a few other defenders going ahead of him, he lands with the Saints ¹[2).
# Round 2, Pick 40
- *Jonah Savaiinaea, IOL, Arizona*: Savaiinaea is a plug-and-play option at guard as a rookie. The Saints' offensive line was quite inconsistent last season, and Savaiinaea's addition would provide much-needed depth [2).
# Round 3, Pick 71
- *Savion Williams, WR, TCU*: Williams is a big-body wide receiver target with elite speed. He'd fit perfectly alongside Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, creating a fun, young trio of receivers for the Saints' offense [2).
# Round 3, Pick 90
- *Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame*: Watts is arguably one of the more underrated secondary prospects in this class. He'd compete for a starting role immediately and provide valuable depth to the Saints' secondary [2).
# Round 4, Pick 111
- *Anthony Belton, OT, N.C. State*: Belton is a massive offensive line prospect who could go as early as late Round 2. The Saints need depth along the entire OL, and Belton would be a great addition [2).
# Round 4, Pick 128
- *Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech*: The Saints need more cornerbacks, especially with Paulson Adebo's future uncertain. Strong would provide valuable depth and competition in the secondary [2).
# Round 6, Pick 183
- *Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami*: Arroyo's value in the passing game is impressive. He'd join a tight end room that hasn't shown much upside and provide a new dimension to the Saints' offense [2).
# Round 7, Pick 253
- *Raheim Sanders, RB, South Carolina*: Sanders is a proven SEC running back who rushes with power and balance. He'd provide valuable depth to the Saints' backfield, which can't rely solely on Kendre Miller staying healthy ².
Love this draft. Nails it.
Would grab a Will Howard/ Kurtis Rourke end of third or early 4th.
But yeah, and Arroyo is solid as. Mason is a game wrecker, Xavier is an INT magnet too right? Great stars of the future, and we need them Everywhere.
Bravo. Well done.
I say Mykel Williams at 9
Mason will be gone
@@duhh4641 Maybe. Might mean Carter or Jeanty slips.
Still all good
Hey Hunt, I agree with you 100% on the WR. Saints would still need a bigger WR to catch in traffic and red zone. I don't like the Starks pick. Great player but Saints need DT as a must.
Been watching Masons tape.
He just wrecks plays!
Batting passes, shedding double blocks to tackle an RB
He would be a dream #9 pick
Savion Williams is a great pick for the Saints
@@RonBisbingI've been seeing some say the saints should draft another RB. Personally I think RB is the least of their worries but we could be killing 2 birds with 1 stone by drafting Savion Williams.
We have Valdez Scantling, T.McMillian will be gone by the time the Saints pick,so who do you have in mind
The Saints have and need all the picks they have… but Loomis will eventually trade up for a dominant player on a small school that never pans out..
DEFENSIVE LINE!!!
W take.
Jaxson dart or Kyle McCORD
Hey Hunt check out Savion Williams. WR out of TCU. 6’ 5” 225. He is the best in my opinion.
Edge rusher at 9 I stand on that Mykel Williams will be there
1st round trade down get TE Warren. Day 2 RB Scattebo, J Dart and LB J Sawyer
I’d take Tyler Warren @ 9 over Ashton Jeanty
Saints are not picking a safety in the first. There are way bigger needs.
The Saints #9 pick DE player from Geroga. Trade all your other picks to the # 10 pick and get the best Offens line player are DT player like Michgan player if he this there. Another Offense Line would not hurt. The Saints had a loseing season ,because the starting player were in IR
I would like to see CLYDE STAY
