Loomis is the longest tenured non-owner GM by 8 years. He has not had a good draft in 7 years. Terrible signings and cap mismanagement. It’s way beyond time to move on.
Here’s the part I’m struggling to comprehend. It’s pretty obvious that Miss Benson and Dennis L. advised Mickey Loomis to fire Dennis Allen. All you have to do is listen to Mickey Loomis himself upon firing him. Furthermore, when DA was recently interviewed, he stated that ML told him it was not him that was firing him! So my struggle is if I am Miss Benson and Dennis, how can I possibly trust this guy to make the next hire? Not only did we have to convince him enough already, but then he undermines us by telling Dennis Allen. It’s not coming from me. How weak is that? That is the integrity of the guy that you choose to lead your multi billion dollar team, Mrs. Benson?? It’s time for you to step up and be a leader and make your mark on this organization!
I wish the Saints would DEMOTE Mickey Loomis. It's been long over due. They need a new GM and Coach that knows football 🏈. I knew the one person they couldn't afford to lose was Sean Payton. He was IMHO the heart and soul of the Saints organization. I knew once Payton left he would straighten Denver out.The one thing you can't replace is consistent leadership. Sean Payton has adaptability. Denver is a young talented team on the rise that's learning how to win under Payton.
You can have the best drafts in the NFL, but if you can't retain them it is moot. Mickey Loomis has gotten too complacent. He has zero pressure on him. Not to mention, it's looking more and more like he was a placeholder during 2006-2021 and Payton was the one behind the success. Mrs. Benson needs to put him somewhere that will keep him from destroying things too badly.
I told you-guys before, this man doesn't give a F&&k about football... New Orleans fans should boycott the games, do not purchase tickets until the owner give somebody else a shot at rebuilding the team!
I remeber my first saints game. My dad stopped at the store on the way bought 2 32 budwweisers asked the store clerk for 2 big bags ...when we got in the car he disigned our bags..inwas like dad what are we doing..i was 6...i remeber he bought tickets at the top but when we entered they let us sit anywhere we wanted to. then he gave me a bag and said put it on..Bum Phillips was the coach...there were probably around 20-30 people at the game....those days are repeating ...new orleans is going to lose our football team because of mickey loomis....gayle will sell the saints and pels...i would if i were losing hundreds of millions every year. Our city is doomed
Everyone gets paid in the ruse....the sports entertainment collaboration racket ....and no play could be more clear than the Saints vs Philadelphia and the Saints players running into each other and the slowest guy on the field runs with no one near him in the most crucial part of the game....the Saints are winning with 3rd down and just a minute left.....the script was designed from the beginning and the collaboration is done in plain sight.....right in ur face if u have eyes to see....I mean have u ever seen such an orchestrated play.....right in ur face....Philadelphia wins....Saints lose....coaches get fired but always end up hired in the ruse!!!!!
Hey Mat don't feel bad, I feel the same way about Loomis Allen and Carr specially Carr...what happened after the last preseason game this year when everyone was throwing out there predictions....10-7, 11-6, and 9-8...I predicted 6-11...this team looked worse then the 4-12 team we had during Katrina...people were trolling me saying I was crazy ..no way the saints go 6-11 this year....well...I been following the NFL 42 years obsessively because of my illness ..I read all the articles watch all the videos year round. It took me 40 years to figure out that the media WWL among others skew the news to sell tickets...they sell false hope. In a time when there wasnt social media and everyone thought that everything on the news was true 70s 80s and before....the NFL is rigged through the refs. Just like the NBA, No different then WWE. Except most players don't know or believe it.
Here's a Saints mock draft based on their needs: # Round 1, Pick 9 - *Mason Graham, DT, Michigan*: Graham is an absolute game-wrecker inside for the Wolverines. Some scouts have him as the best overall prospect in the entire class. With early quarterbacks and a few other defenders going ahead of him, he lands with the Saints ¹[2). # Round 2, Pick 40 - *Jonah Savaiinaea, IOL, Arizona*: Savaiinaea is a plug-and-play option at guard as a rookie. The Saints' offensive line was quite inconsistent last season, and Savaiinaea's addition would provide much-needed depth [2). # Round 3, Pick 71 - *Savion Williams, WR, TCU*: Williams is a big-body wide receiver target with elite speed. He'd fit perfectly alongside Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, creating a fun, young trio of receivers for the Saints' offense [2). # Round 3, Pick 90 - *Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame*: Watts is arguably one of the more underrated secondary prospects in this class. He'd compete for a starting role immediately and provide valuable depth to the Saints' secondary [2). # Round 4, Pick 111 - *Anthony Belton, OT, N.C. State*: Belton is a massive offensive line prospect who could go as early as late Round 2. The Saints need depth along the entire OL, and Belton would be a great addition [2). # Round 4, Pick 128 - *Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech*: The Saints need more cornerbacks, especially with Paulson Adebo's future uncertain. Strong would provide valuable depth and competition in the secondary [2). # Round 6, Pick 183 - *Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami*: Arroyo's value in the passing game is impressive. He'd join a tight end room that hasn't shown much upside and provide a new dimension to the Saints' offense [2). # Round 7, Pick 253 - *Raheim Sanders, RB, South Carolina*: Sanders is a proven SEC running back who rushes with power and balance. He'd provide valuable depth to the Saints' backfield, which can't rely solely on Kendre Miller staying healthy ². I hit A I, and it pulls up this list. It don't look too bad
@ did you watch his press conference? He pretty much came out and said “all teams have to deal with cap issues” as if all teams start each year 60+ million over the cap. He shows no signs of changing. Just watch. He already gave Kamara a 30 yo RB and new deal and he’ll extend Carr and rework more deals leading to a larger cap debt each year. He’s been doing this for over a decade and it’s finally caught up with him.
so he gave DA a chance, he supported him, and it didnt work out. let him fix it, give the man a chance to get back to the drawing board and reset and "retool". we are in the midst of dealing with trying to get drew a 2nd championship and giving DA a fighting chance. both situations didnt work out, so let him get to work and do his job for the the future of this franchise and for his own legacy,
Loomis is like the Affirm Finance of NFL GMs. Lower your payments by extending them as far out as possible. Your merchandise then becomes so outdated by the time it's paid off that it needs replacing. Any good coaching candidate would be a fool to inherit a team with such a consistently mismanaged cap situation.
I agree with you 100%, but for the sake of argument...he did have us in 3 NFC Championship games with what should have been 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 Championship. It hurts now, but if you had told me when I a child after Jim Mora had that we'd see these days, I'd absolutely take it. We remember just how much we stunk in the 80s and for a good chunk of the 90s an early 2000s. As annoying as he is now, he helmed the Golden era of Saints Football.
Come on, man. Don’t pull the “well they sucked for years and I’m just thankful they did well for a little while” card. That shouldn’t give them a pass. If you draft well and run your organization well, have the right guy under center/on the sidelines, you can win.
@ I said that I agree with Matt 100%. I believe you missed that part. It's just stained in my head of the mess that we once were. He needs to go but I believe for the reasons that I mentioned Mrs. Benson gave him a long leash.
@@geoffhoutman1557 saying he “helmed the Golden Era of Saints football” is true but a bit misleading at the same time. He only hired Sean Payton because the Packers wanted (ironically) Mike McCarthy who we may end up with after 20 years. Payton wouldn’t have come here if Green Bay called. He only got Drew Brees because nobody else wanted him. In hindsight, signing a QB coming off a debilitating shoulder injury to a 6 year contract was incredibly stupid. There was a lot of doubt about whether Drew would ever play again and Mickey gives him a six year/60 million dollar deal. Now it obviously worked and having him essentially on a rookie contract for 6 years allowed us to build the team that eventually won SB 44, but you can’t know that it would work like that. Mickey took a chance on a guy that he probably shouldn’t have and it struck gold. Without Brees and Payton-who kind of fell into his lap-what has Loomis done on his own? So yes, he may have been in charge during the Golden Era, but is it really Mickey who should get the credit?

Ms. Benson, Gayle, if you’re reading this please part ways with your GM. You organization has the worst salary cap in ALL professional sports and you can’t attract talented coaches.
