The director wanted this to be in black and white to reflect those old monster B movies that's why the acting is hokey and weird it was the style he was going for but the studio forced him to release the color version in theaters to make more money.
Loved this movie. Great characters, great dialogue, great horror action, and very suspenseful. It was great up until the end. Aside from that I give this a full price.
that white guy sounds like a real snob. Really? he didnt like 1 fucking thing in this movie? not even the premise? this had a great, simple but effective premise. and some cool monster designs.

This does seem like one of those movies that you either love or hate. I thought that the characters could have been better, and that would have made a difference. I'll admit I haven't seen this movie in years, though I remember that a lot of them just really grated on me. In my opinion it wasn't enough to carry a decent story. (I'm one who really favors character-driven stories, and if they annoy me then I'm automatically turned off).
OMG this movie is terrible... CGI, story line, music and especially the acting (screaming). You have to watch this as a comedy, it was far more funny than it was scary. 1/5 Stars
