Hemis will make you smile for all the right reasons, and Mr. Cook's Satellite certainly shows us all of those right reasons. What a great Mopar! Thanks, Lou!
What a beautiful car! And extremely rare as well...me and my 2 brothers had a few mopars growing up....my favorite was my older brothers 70 cuda 440 six pack black on black....I had a 70 Plymouth challenge SE 383...wish we still had those cars😢

Beautiful car, sounds great, looks great, Randy loves it. No wonder! Thanks for showing this one to us. And I might add, better looking by far than anything I’ve seen during the last 20 years. In the 60s and 70s, we bought cars because they were BEAUTIFUL, among other reasons.

Goodday Lou, Great car, great story, great bloke that Randy even his accent being true blue red & white American. Love to be in a Aussie pub with Randy & you having yarns all about Hemi's. Just yesterday I took out my 6 cylinder 245 Hemi out for a drive after 3 & half months away over winter. Randy summed it up beautifully. " The joy you feel driving these cars" That is the best explanation when I try to explain to other why I hold onto Samantha beautifully said. That was moving that drive & it is so nice seeing the neighbourhood beautiful houses, manicure lawns it is a real treat, Kellie loves the background scenery. 2 Hemi's in 10 days keep them coming Lou, you are a real treat thank you so much for this great video. Cheers Louis Kats your number 1 Fan in Australia. 👍 🙂 🇦🇺 🇺🇸
Goodday Louis, Glad to read you enjoy this car & story. Happy to read you had your car out. NICE! Fun to share the cars with you. You're welcome. Thank you for being my # 1 Fan in Australia, Lou
What a treat!!! Beautiful car!!! This combination is an absolute MASTERPIECE!!! THE year after this beauty came out, Richard Petty had his most successful year in stock car racing Driving a car similar to this, but set-up for racing.... Many other types of competition forms used these engines.... Just a BEAUTIFUL reminder of when Chrysler cars were the ones to beat in so many types of competitive comparisons...
Hi Michael, High praise :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing and I believe you're going to see many more cars on this Channel you'll enjoy. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this TH-cam Channel, Lou
Lou..you've found another cream puff..nice body style on this Sattelite..Ah..the days of Mopar muscle..with a hemi engine to boot..brings back a lot of memories Thanks Lou!
I really liked when the hood opened, you kept quiet for a bit, and then just started laughing! One of my favorite bits from your videos. Keep doing what you do Lou! Awesome car!
When I was a kid we had a relative that had a '67 Satellite with a 318 V8. That was a nice car. It was silver-blue in color. Thanks for posting Lou! Have a blessed day!
Hi Gerry, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your relatives car :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, you're welcome, blessings received, and wishing you a blessed day too, Lou
This 1966 Plymouth Satellite 426 Hemi looked spectacular! The combination of Forest Green on the body and Citrus Green on the interior is great. When he opened the hood and they both laughed that said it all! Ha ha. The ride was excellent, and the engine sounded great; but that acceleration was brutal! Best regards, Lou!
The 426 is an American tour-de-force!..But even the smaller-block engines offered by Chrysler, back then, were awesomely powerful. A friend of mine bought a 1968 Dodge Dart, with the 340 4bbl, 4speed. It too was forest green...it moved out like a green lightning bolt!...My buddy out ran a State Patrol car one evening...I was in the passenger seat, and nearly had to change my underwear after that episode!...Randy seems like a really good guy, deserving of this land-rocket! Great video, Lou.
Awesome car My boss has a 4 spd ‘66 Hemi Satellite. I have a short video on my TH-cam It’s restored now,but it’s early life was spent as a mini tubbed race car from upstate NY.he’s owned it for a few decades Thx Lou,always a great video you present 👍

I always loved the roofline and body style of these cars! And the 426 Hemi and 4 speed make it the ultimate Plymouth. The hood ornament is also a touch of class. Thanks Lou for sharing!
Thanks for that one Lou, really exciting to see the identical year and model to my own car barring mines Citron green with the console shift auto. I just love the 66 satellite shape
Hi lyonheart84 exotic fruit growing, Happy to read "really exciting to see the identical year and model to my own car barring mines Citron green with the console shift auto. I just love the 66 satellite shape" :-) Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou

Another great Mopar Lou. A friend of my Grandpa had a 67 Satellite convertible he bought new. Had a 426 Hemi.-yellow in color with white roof. His was a torqueflite console shift.
Hi Brad, Happy to read "Another great Mopar" :-) Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandpa's Friends car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
THEY SAY THE 426 HEMI WAS RATED 425 H.P. BUT WAS ACTUALLY CLOSER TO 500, AFTER READING THAT I AGREE, I RODE IN A 66 CHARGER 426 4 SPEED ABOUT 145 TO 150 MPH IN TEXAS WHEN I WAS IN THE ARMY STILL PULLS HARD AT THAT SPEED, AMAZING ENGINE. YOU SHOULD HEAR THE ENGINE SOUND AT THAT SPEED WITH THE 2-4 BARRELS FLOORED, LIKE NO OTHER ENGINE.
BULLSHIT......hp was 425 gross with bare engine on a dyno.....with belts, air filter, and muffler removed. When all that back on put back on horsepower was only 350 NET. After 1971 all cars were rated net, and the 426 was listed at 350 hp in the MOPAR parts catalog. Any 2024 Dodge 5.7 puts out more hp at 375 net.
What a beauty! This is the one that started my love for muscle. My father used to have a white over black 66 Satellite with the 426 named "Ole White Lightning" only his had a push button automatic trans. What a machine it was indeed. I remember the power slamming my little ass in the seat like it was yesterday.
Morning Lou, Just wanted to point out, The Rapid Transit System came about in 1968-69. At the time of this Satellite, Plymouth was out to Win your Heart Over. Hope this helps? Thank you.
Great video Lou. The 66 & 67 Satellites were one of my favorite body styles. Will always love them. Randy’s is absolutely beautiful . I noticed it didn’t have A/C. I have an all original 66 Charger with a 383 HIPO that has A/C. I know on the Charger A/C was not an option if you bought a Hemi. I’ll bet it wasn’t an option on the Satellite either. I’m pretty sure the A/C compressor would not fit like in the Hemi Chargers. Keep up the good work.
Hi Gary, Happy to read this is a body style you'll always love :-) 426 Hemi cars did not come with A/C. Thank you for viewing, sharing and I believe you're going to see many more cars on this Channel you'll enjoy. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this TH-cam Channel, Lou
Beautiful car! Love that era Mopars. We had a '66 Chrysler Newport in that same color. The design and engineering at Chrysler at that time was top notch. Sounds like it has an aggressive cam in that HEMI.
My gosh, look at this car. My uncle had one just like that one it was red and had a four speed with a 361 big block, distributor on the front of the engine. The satellite is gone but he kept the engine and transmission. I bet yours is very quick?
Hi Arthur, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Uncles car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many cars on this Channel you enjoy! Please Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this TH-cam Channel, Lou
I saw one of these cars once at a Concours event, but it had a front bench seat and a column mounted automatic shifter and an add-on tach. I was surprised, but then later I ran into some Superbirds and Daytonas with column-mounted automatics. And then this car also has a close-ratio 4-speed! Imagine that. All that power and a non-power single circuit master cyl. I guess it would have been pretty easy to add a midland power brake booster and hide it.
Ok. If I don't make it, at least go out onto Rt 11 Carlisle Pike heading towards Mechanicsburg. Better yet, behind the Harley dealer on the right heading into Mechanicsburg there's a long straight industrial road.
YOU DEFINATELY NEED A DUAL MASTER CYLINDER FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. BEAUTIFUL CAR, I DROVE A NEW 67 ONE, RED, BLACK STRIPES ON THE HOOD AND TRUNK, 440, AUTO, VERY IMPRESSIVE TO SAY THE LEAST, LOVE THE COVES IN THE SIDE, MOPAR OR NO CAR.
Despite it being green in color, modern-day "greenies" will hate this car for all the reasons we love it - manacing sound, incredible acceleration, an uncaring attitude towards fuel consumption, pure intimidation with all the 426 badging to wannabe drag racing challengers and - most importantly - so much fun for the driver that you can't wipe the smile off your face. I think the owner needs a license plate surround bracket that says, "MY GREEN AGENDA."
It looks great, the engine sounds strong too. One of a select group Chrysler products without the characteristic reduction starter whine everybody recognizes, the 66-69 4 speed cars used a specific direct driving starter. It’s a big job to chase down all the parts you would need if anything is missing. The flywheel and starter are unique to 66 only, and the bell housing is 66-67 only. I have personal experience.
the fact that real SAE NET horsepower is only 350, 25 less than a 2023 5.7 Dodge at 375 net..these old cars were grossly OVER RATED in the horsepower department....they were never "under rated to fool insurance" as claimed.
Daniel, Happy to read you love the vids :-) Technology improves, so a V6 today can produce WAY more HP and WAY better breaking then cars back in the late 1960's & 1970's....HOWEVER these cars are time travelers, and the Hemi's are special, and yep, still pretty quick for today. Lou
Absolute🟢 Beauty I I just saw something on the road that you as a fellow automotive nut will find interesting bizzare and completely ridiculous. A Maybach MINIVAN 😳

It’s a big job to chase down all the parts you would need if anything is missing. The flywheel and starter are unique to 66 only, and the bell housing is 66-67 only. I have personal experience.
Hi James, Happy to read you enjoy the looks and sounds of this car :-) Thank you for sharing your experience, Lou
Randy, With full deference to Dirty Harry, a man's gotta' know when to count his blessings - all 426 of them! 😉👍

Hi Michael, Happy to read "Nice" :-) Lou
With a car such as this, it's not about miles per gallon, its about SMILES per gallon.
Hi J Ramirez, Exactly! Lou
Me gusta el carro soy fanático de los mopar; saludos.
Hi Jose, Happy to read you like this car :-) Lou
What's not to like??
I like it :-)
the fact that real SAE NET horsepower is only 350, 25 less than a 2023 5.7 Dodge at 375 net..these old cars were grossly OVER RATED in the horsepower department....they were never "under rated to fool insurance" as claimed.
Lou love your vids..are the hemi cars fast?
Daniel, Happy to read you love the vids :-) Technology improves, so a V6 today can produce WAY more HP and WAY better breaking then cars back in the late 1960's & 1970's....HOWEVER these cars are time travelers, and the Hemi's are special, and yep, still pretty quick for today. Lou
I had one with a 426 wedge auto same color
Happy to read you had a fun car too :-)
12:10 then there is a random Charger 😂❤️
...and just the way we like it.
