Your stealth issues stem from wearing heavy armor; makes a lot of noise when you move (Astrid gave you the best armor set for all this and you rejected her gift). Also gotta put perks into stealth in general, as you are now you're basically stomping through peoples' houses shaking a tambourine and shouting what you plan on doing

I CACKLED WAY TO HARD AT THIS
I have hundreds of hours in this game, the brotherhood questline is one of my most played since I enjoy playing assassin characters. I never even thought about using clairvoyance to figure out who has the contract. Cool as shit.
It turns out that if you use the Clairvoyance spell it will always pick a target at random the first time it is cast.
After playing these dark brotherhood quests over and over for about a decade, i only just learned you can get away with the Mine owner lady of you walk ip to her during the day and tell her the Dark Brotherhood is after her. She attacks you and i guess the guards just see you as defending yourself.
Bro I have THOUSANDS of hours in this game but this clairvoyance thing blew my mind. I never thought about it!
The trick to buying lessons is you buy one, quicksave, then you pickpocket your money back. Rinse and repeat
So given that you seemed to enjoy the DB (and yes, Astrid's voice acting is sooo good) and you also are digging Garrus in Mass Effect, I thought I'd mention that Elder Scrolls Online a) has a really fun Dark Brotherhood expansion and b) just added a companion that you can recruit voiced by Garrus' VA in the last expansion. Once the new 2024 expansion drops (early summer, I think?) last year's stuff becomes free with the monthly sub, so if you have any inclination towards doing LP of Elder Scrolls Online - it's very single player friendly/story-heavy - that might be a good time since you could grab Elder Scrolls Garrus as a companion without having to actually pay for last year's expansion. I'm having a great time myself working my way through all of the various storylines with Lizard Garrus at my side, so figured I'd mention it in case it might appeal to you as well.
That makes me excited because my fiancee and I have just started playing ESO together and I freaking love Garrus and his voice actor. We just grabbed the full game because it's on sale for the 10th anniversary.

It's actually always shows random target. If he'd reloaded it could have been one of the other 2.
Next thing you probably all know of is that yes you actually can kill Astrid there, she would have short answer there "good job" or something like that as last words. And then you'd actually get a quest to go speak with imperials about killing the head of DB and planning assault on their base on Imperial side fighting (almost) all the members!
Almost is because Cyceron wouldn't be there yet, and we will never found out about the second hideout so The DB would still live on.
( This path totally doesn't worth it rewards wise, and only recommend for roleplay purposes or special speed run challenges since you will get the dagger and base armours.)
On your next build you should do conjuration stealth enchanting smithing all that good stuff
Conjuration is a little bit broken once you get it up high enough
Plus you need to get your smithing up to 60 so you can upgrade your enchanted equipment

i did, oblivion made playing as a vampire a real nightmare... unlike skyrim

I consider Blood Dragons to be world bosses. There are quest-related bosses that lack the tenacity and sheer viciousness of those monsters.
Blood dragons are not actually quest related, they are just the type of dragon up from a regular dragon. (If you were joking I'm sorry I can't tell in comments :P)
