My biggest regret from watching these videos is I haven't been able to find much readily accessible Cedar/Cypress wood available in the US. I would love to use it in similar locations that he has shown.

I am not a carpenter and will never build anything close to what you do. I watch your videos because I appreciate good craftsmanship.

Can anyone explain why he creates divots at 7:56?
I presume it is to help the glue work better, but I don't understand why it would help.

I build two house in Sweden, in Sweden building small house with wood is normal , I find that wood house can not accumulate energy. During summer hot during day and when sun goes down it get cold very fast . Over that it has no sounds proof, it like 🥁 🪘 when some one walking 🚶‍♀️ 🤔 🙄 😒.
It take a lot of maintenence, wood nerver stand all weather climate.
That is why I will never building with wood , I prefer concrete construction with granite stone fasad , last for ever with minimal maintenance . That is why Egyptian pyramid is there .😊

On the other hand, in Canada we build almost always with wood, but with thick, highly insulated walls. It is true that we don’t have as much thermal mass, but at -30 C, the insulation is critical.
