Problem with Tannehill is that the Packers already spent a 7th on Willis, and the Packers don't want to pay Tannehill for only a few weeks. Not saying I agree with the Packers' FO, but that is just how they have operated in the past and they tend to "ride or die" with their guys.
No signing a guy like tannehill who has zero experience in this offense for a couple weeks when NO ONE wants tannehill is the packers actively SAVING their season. Tannehil is a bum. Malik hasn't shown much but there is more promise then a 36 yr old QB coming off a injury riddled season, who honestly was never good to begin with.
@matthewwebber45 I do agree with that. There's technically more upside with Willis, we just don't know quite yet. This is the first time he will be in a pretty good and talented system.
This kid is young and strong. Dollars to donuts he finds a way to get back sooner than anyone expects. Tannehill has become a journeyman, and is suspect. Tannehill would want to be a starter, and that's just not going to happen.
That is what is really tragically frustrating about American football: Devastating injuries to young, exciting and dynamic players. I know injuries are a fact of life in all professional sports. But football seems really susceptible to catastrophic injuries. Jordan’s injury isn’t necessarily catastrophic but it just reminds us all that franchise QB’s are almost irreplaceable while also being the biggest target on the field for the defense.
LOL, the guy that thought Aaron Rodgers is still viable is giving us advice, thanks but no thanks...though Tannehill backing up Malik Willis again would be hilarious
Tannehill won't come and just plays for 3 games. Even if he comes, it won't be cheap. Packers are not going to pay high for a qb just to play 3 games. Love won't be out too long, give Malik a chance in Packers' offense.
1. Thanks for changing the thumbnails back, I didn't like how mad they were at me last week. B. No, why would we reach out to Tannehill he won't be up to speed until after Love gets back in 3 weeks and look at our schedule over the next 3. Colts, Texans and the football God's chosen punching bag the Vikings. Two games that don't matter for playoff seeding and one against a team that's beaten to crap. Ride with Willis and Pratt and just try to hand a 2-2 team back to Jordan when he's back
The only win I see there is maybe the Titans. There is no way that the Colts are losing. Sam Darnold and the Vikings looked great in week 1. They are not beating the Rams, Cardinals, or Texans without Jordan Love.
Denver has TWO back ups that could step in. Trade for either Jerrett Stidham and Zach Wilson (I know not good for the Jets). Wilson showed in preseason that when properly coached he is capable. Either would not be an expensive trade... And a Better options than Willis.
Tannehill would not go to the Packers, they would want him at the minimum he's to good for that. He would want 10 mil, packers cant pay that especially for 4 or 5 weeks. Plus they would discover he is better than Love
This definitely Monday morning QB’ing on my part but any team that doesn’t have a fully legitimate ready to play back up QB .. they get what they deserve
Agreed. If you build a team around offense and the QB then you better damn well have a backup. And it doesn't have to be a top-notch player - QB's are hard enough to find in the NFL. But you need to have a feasible option.
They already reached out to him over the weekend. Just leave it up to Willis. If we are 0-6 when Love is ready leave Willis in there and secure the first pick in the draft next year.
The Blackers are not in the same league as the Detroit Lions, the players, the coaching staffs, the attitude, the intensity. This is my personal nightmare, the Detroit Lions in that awful blue are what the GBP use to be, except with more FIRE, and Ditka like personality! The NFL too has become almost unwatchable for me with their insatiable desire to move overseas, pay per view, liberal woke personality, rule changes (I hate the new fruity kick off)---now my beloved GBP, look at the roster, the brain trust obviously believes the team with the overall best 40 time wins the Ring! Now look at the Lion roster, and all that pale! I could just cry, and I promise, I would if it would help, but…..we are lost. We have a so called HC that can’t or won’t hire the best available coaches---if you shoot pool with ,Matt---if you are his buddy, you too can be Def Coor! Matt could not carry Dan Campbell’s jock strap!
As a packer fan my heart literally dropped when the injury happened 🙁

Really? A 7th round pick will stop them from trying to save their season...😮

This is why QBs should give up quick on Hail Mary plays once they start to go wrong in the regular season. Better chance of this than winning.
A century of success and they need a hug?
Lol
There are alot of teams that need to reach out to Tannehill
Malik's the next next next Favre!

Hopefully Matt still has the RG3 playbook from Washington for Willis to run
Of course a Jets fan would say this
I'm sure I heard over the weekend that they already had?
LaFluer just denied they did in his presser this afternoon.
What's Jameis Winston up to these days?
Stealing crab legs
Getting ready to take over when they bench Watson.
He's on the browns

Credit to everyone who has commented so far for not suggesting Tom Brady...
Tanehill rumor is a myth. LaFleur said so
Whoa I thought the packers were qb gurus what's all this signing backups business about?
Not going to be 3 to 6 weeks
1st. Love ya Rich
Green Bay's season could be done in the first 4 to 5 games.
Call flaco
Flacco is in Indy.
has anybody said it yet? tom brady?
It would be fitting the Malik Willis comes into Tennessee and beats the Titans..

Figures he would get hurt after signing a $55 million/year contract. Never fails. That is why guaranteed money is much less.

Especially considering the previous animosity that Tannehill showed to Willis in Tennessee.
Vikings are going to crush you dude

I know a lot of people are changing their NFC championship game picks. See you next year Love, heal up 🙏🏼
Why is everyone acting like he died. haha. He'll be back 2-4 weeks max

😂😂😂😂
Malik Willis as their starter for 4 weeks might be 0-4 for them. Bring in Tannehill.
And a 36 year old Ryan Tannehill who was absolutely awful the last 2 seasons he was a starter would be better why?
Packers won't bring in Ryan. They traded a 7th round pick for Malik. It's Malik and Sean until Jordan returns 😢
Willis might shock a lot of people, never know,if Matt LeFluer is the offensive guy like we’ve have seen..you never know
