    Fun fact D-Low after his final round went so hard that he did need to take a break to recover. But generally beatboxers dont have sore throats after the contest or a routine. That usually happens when we practice or start learn a new technique. (These guys have mastered it to a point it doesnt hurt unless they do it for literally half a day in dlows case)

    D-low got 2nd place in two different categories at the GBB in 2018, GBB being one of, if not the most prestigious beatbox competitions there is. He then went one to score a 2nd place and a 1st place across two categories in 2019. Don’t know how much he competed other than the Kickback battle considering corona but I’m pretty sure he’s be undefeated for a very long time now, since 2019 at least if not even since his loss in 2018. So basically I think most people would agree that he is currently the guy to beat, maybe not everyone’s favourite beatboxer or musician but definetly the best battle beatboxer. Though to be fair we have not seen him battle the winner of GBB 2021 yet (they battles in 2019 but not since), a competition that D-low was a part of judging instead of competing.

    learning a very low bass or a very high sound hurt your throat at the beggining but after a bit of time, then you work enough in that sound, your throat doesn't hurt like before. So, he can have cramps on his jaw or being really thirsty but his throat doesn't really hurt. (i'm not a native speaker, be kind please)

  • @iroxz251
    @iroxz251 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    That high pitched sound you keep hearing is actually not his throat, he's not using his voice at all to do that. If you look closely you can see he bites his lip, and then he sucks in air to make that sound (not that simple, but trying to simplify it a little). A lot of sounds are made just with lips being in a certain position. Like 17:35 "BITE my lip"

    But you can train it so you are able to hold sounds like the inward bass, throat bass or vibration bass for a very long time. If you want to learn/ train it, you need a lot of water or some tea.

    Strong ass tea, steaming voice cords and sinus and technique are key. Lots of guys loose there voice toward the end of comp. You absolutely can exhaust, over work and even damage your cords with some techniques. You have to listen to your body and exercise the muscles your using to be able to do on this level and have a normal voice left forsure.

    Just incase you didn't know, he wasn't actually using the loop machine, it was a prop cuz his opponent at the time did the same, it's a rebuttal.

    I've been beatboxing for 11 years now and from my experience your throat hurts maybe the first year or so but like anything you condition it so that it doesn't, dont get me wrong after an hour of non stop practice it tickles the back of your throat but nothing water can't deal with.

    The reason he still had breath is because some of the noises they makes they are technically inhaling air. You should check out MB14 LA Cup Showcase. Best beatbox looper and amazing voice. He’s a legend

    To answer your question about pain: your throat consists of muscled and like every other muscle you can train it.
    As a beginner my throat was hurting a few times but nowadays i can spam whatever i want, the only thing you gotta do is drink enough water or else your throat is getting too sore to controll bass sounds

    Honestly it's differ from which sound you use and your mastery over it and in general in a live battle you don't want try things you don't master. Soo we're not hurt After a battle, it's more during the learning time ahah

    When your learning your thoart hurts but once you been doing it awhile it don't hurt at all. If it does your doing something wrong.

    your throat doesnt really hurt after beatboxing even for a long time just because your throat gets used to it no real pain is caused the only time it might hurt is when you first learn the sound after that you get used to it and you can do it for a pretty long time

  • @davids7556

    If you practice throat bass everyday, it doesn't really hurt. Certain styles hurt worse than others, but if you're regularly practicing it's not too bad. If you use throat bass nonstop for a long time, it can definitely hurt though. Some people even damage their vocal cords when they are learning because they don't stop when it starts to hurt.

      That a bit much bro cuz he is the best at battling In his prime but if we talk solo elimination many could win. Some people have really good routines rivalling Dan like inertia. But he is one of the best

    There is some sounds that kinda hurt like teeth chatters and some throat basses but if you only do them for a short time each day it doesnt hurt so after a min and half it shouldnt hurt really unless you bite your tounge, i’ve done that a few times

    • @TypicalTaner
      @TypicalTaner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got you, but I’m sure just starting out and learning, it takes longer time to adjust for sure.

    • @connorcheetham4549
      @connorcheetham4549 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah deffinatly but what it was mostly with me was doing a sounds too much after I learnt it, I used to get toothache from a certain snare but it just turned out i was doing it wrong and i was doing it for 3-4 hours a day for about a week before i realised what I was doing, also some lip basses and zipper sounds vibrate your lips so much they tickel your mouth and you cant do the sound anymore but this goes after a week or two
