This was brilliant. What a sweetheart Mara is. I so wish I could be a part of this but work had to come first unfortunately. Thank you Danny and Sam. This was amazing
I didn't know who Mara was at first, but it turned out to be one of the best interviews with some great stories we hadn't heard before. She was so connected to Salem's Lot in so many ways both obvious and obscure. She's right about Geoffrey Lewis's performance, he is the unsung hero of Salem's Lot for me and uses his voice and body language to portray a vampire as it would probably be for real. The way he rolls out of that rocking chair like some demented mannequin is chilling. Convincing physical acting is so hard to do and can be laughable if you get it wrong (e.g. Lew Ayres deliberately bumping into things during his less-than-convincing heart attack in the same scene). He didn't. The kiddie vampires and the Master are terrifying too, but what Lewis does is phenomenal. He made his vampire different than other vampires you'd seen before including from earlier on in Salem's Lot.
what a lovely down to earth lady, immortalized as the nurse in salems lot.i really would love to see if the salems lot remake is ever coming to all us fans
Salems lot is my favorite movie of all time too! So nice to know I'm not the only one. I was about 8 or so when I saw it on TV movie of the week. It scared the heck outta me as a kid!!!!! Absolutely love it!!! I'm in my 50s now and it's still pretty scary.
Thanks so much for this and your other Salem's Lot interviews. This is one of my all-time favorite films, and the only horror film that actually scared me when I was growing up. I was terrified to walk past an open window at night for several years after watching this. Eventually, I wrote my own retro-themed horror novel that was strongly inspired by Salem's Lot, Dark shadows, The Night Stalker, and other such things that I grew up with. I guess I had to get it out of my system somehow! LOL Thanks again! At some point, someone needs to put together an online watch event for this movie.
Awwww Danny and Sam this was amazing Mara thank you so much Danny what a great interview this was lovely thank you for sharing this with ussam thank you too and I know Ben would have loved to been on this one live too I call you guys the salem's Lot crew 😂😂😂 👋👋👋👋👋
Another brilliant interview guys Mara is superb - so interesting to hear from the actual actors who were part of the film. How good would it be if you got Bonnie Bedelia or David Soul into zoom in the future. Appreciate these vids so thank you. 👍
It's funny because when you show people today who have never seen the movie some of the scary scenes they kinda shrug and say ain't that scary but really to capture that scare factor you need to watch the masterpiece from the start of the movie to really get into it. The tension build up, music, acting and atmosphere is the magic ingredient that makes the movie really scary. The scares scenes are just the icing. If it hadn't have been done and acted so well and the music wasn't as masterfully done then those scenes wouldn't have been as scary. If you get what I mean lol
Hang on! Weren't there actually two different nurses in Hooper's Salem's Lot? The one that goes to give Danny Glick his medication and finds him dead and the nurse that tends to Ben Mears, after he is set upon by Ned ? ?
@@Everything-hw4jb yes, well spotted! I,too, spotted the name Mrs Huggins on her tag on her nurses top !! Both are Gorgeous, I have to say !! The gorgeous Leah Procito is playing a nurse in the new Salem's Lot movie, which I think Is going to be absolutely terrific !! 😃🙂👌👌🙏🙏💯
Salem's Lot is actually the book I've re-read I don't know how many times. I'm from Spain, and the series didn't air here until very early 80s. Not long after I saw the book at a book fair. Best work by King by a mile. IMO. Great vids. Subscribed.

I'd love to know how she keeps her good looks ? I'm reading Salems Lot for about the 15th time! What a lovely lady love to her ❤️💋🌹💯🍷🥂🍾💯
Sam and I talked about that after the interview. She just doesn't age.
