If you've been born again, after hearing the words to this song all you are doing is picking up your key board and screen off the floor, because you've just knocked it over shouting. This songs runs me.........
I remember hearing this song way back when. Ain't nothin, I mean nothin!! like good ole soul searchin gospel songs. Nobody sings these kinds of songs anymore and its a shame. I love Myrna Summers. She sho can sang!!
2nd part: Oh they tell me of a king And His beauty, beauty there And they tell me that our eyes Shall behold as He sits on the throne And its whiter than snow In that city made of gold Oh they tell me of an uncloudy day
Verse 1 Oh, they tell me of a home Far beyond the skies Oh, they tell me of a home So far away Yes, they tell me of a home Where no storm clouds rise Oh, they tell me Yes, they tell me Of an uncloudy day
i remember this song from the late 80's,and if you follow gospel music you may remember it to, it actually brought tears to my eyes thinking of my sister uncloudy day
I remember when Myrna's homechurch was Refreshing Springs COGIC of Maryland. When my family I joined Myrna was just leaving. For a while I heard nothing of her music ministry and I was sad but I hear she's still going forth. The anointing drips off of her. This was powerful!!
LORD HAVE MERCY THIS POWERFUL WOMAN OF GOD STILL HAS THAT FIRE BURNING THAT JUST CHASES THRU MY SOUL. I REMEMBER MYRNA SUMMERS FROM WASHINGTON TEMPLE COGIC BACK IN THE EARLY AND LATE 80S.
This was a very special time in the church as we said good bye to Bishop Gilbert Patterson. He was one of the greatest leaders in the body of Christ during the 20th century. Bishop Patterson was used of the Lord to help the church move into reconciliation & forgiveness. Not only was he the leader of the COGIC, but a leader to all of the church. His home going was witness by millions of people over the Internet & around the world. This was truly an Apostle of God during our life time.
I love this song it brings back so many real and precious memories of when my parents were still living. Thank God for a new life in Christ Jesus and a comming never ending reunion around God's throne with all the saints from the ages !!!
I love this song. I've loved this song for many years and homegirl shonuff sings it. I do my best not to holler when I listen to this song. All that other new stuff (Kirk Franklin's "Stump", etc.) is ok, but these kind of songs will stand the test of time. This should is all of our testimony who are in Christ. Some glad morning.....
Oh they tell me of a king in his beauty fair, and they tell me that mine eyes shall behold where he sits on the throne. And it's whiter than snow in that city made of gold. Oh they tell me of an uncloudy day!!
You're so right! She was also partly directing the choir and that's a "Director's Thing" Regardless - they were anointed singing this song. (I think it was kind of cute) well at least she held the note for them. lol
I was fortunate to have met Myrna Summers back in the late 70's when she was at New Samaritan Baptist Church in Washington,D.C. . She is such an anointed singer. This is one of my favorite songs of all times.
HALLALUJAH! PRAISE THE LORD! YOU GO MYRNA. Now that's singing right there. GLORY!!!! Touch all the way to the soul. That choir is tight.. SAAAAANG TENORS!!!! Listen to those tenors make those changes.
Bridge: Oh they tell me of a King in His beauty; beauty there And they tell me that mine eyes Shall behold where he sits on the throne That is whiter than snow In that city made of gold Oh, they tell me of an uncloudy day
Oh they tell me of a home, far beyond the skies. Oh they tell me of a home, so far away. Yes, they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise. Oh they tell me. Yes, they tell me of an uncloudy day! Chorus: Oh they tell me of a home. where my loved ones gone. Oh they tell me of a land, so far away. Let the tree of life spread it's frangrance through the air. Oh they tell me of an uncloudy day.
Can you find me in the choir? This was a very sad day; somehow, I was trying not to look sad but, I looked mad; not mad at all but, glad that Bishop wasn't suffering any longer and Mrs. Patterson could rest, finally. R. I. P. Bishop forever, I love you, always, your Bountiful Blessings children, Lawanda...
I love listening to this song up to a point. It was a beautiful reminder of where my loved ones have gone and where I will be going. With that being said, the feeling of this song was changed when Myrna Summer chastized the choir by saying, "You missed it". Most individuals never would have noted the mistake. Also, it may not have been a mistake as the choir was following it's Music Minister and not Sister Summer. Nonetheless, GODS blessings, grace, mercy and lovingkindness to all.
That is the Voices of Bountiful Blessings from Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Memphis, I think the COGIC jurisdictional choir is singing with them. Myrna Summers is the artist, she use to be on staff at TOD back in the day, but she is in Washington now if I am not mistaken. She is annointed.
Oh the days og good inspirational music. notice how we hear the words. children that is called diction. many choirs have let that go by the wayside. oh well---thats my soap box. signed....an anthem lover who happens to be african american
The choir missed it at 6:59, but it's very difficult when two folks are directing the same song. Like you, I've been singing in GMWA type mass choirs forever. However, one must give some slack here. I know Myrna Summers wrote the song, but the choir was following *their* director so they really can't be faulted. If anything, the director should have been watching Myrna. They did good considering this was an *international* homegoing with artists and luminaries coming from everywhere!!!
you're right on that one but that's actully the Tennessee 4th Jurisdiction Choir. Bountiful Blessings Ministry is part of that Jurisdiction which GE.Paterson also presided. now it's led by Bishop Jerry Maynard
I love this video it is so inspirational and encouraging, bc this song was sung at my dads funeral and im looking to go to that home someday! Thanks for posting this video

Myrna, you are bad!!!! The annointing is untouchable!!!
That's just Myrna, she is a true worshiper and songstress, I love this song and the honesty of her expression!
I felt the power of God in that song!!! There's no feeling like it!
2nd part:
Oh they tell me of a king
And His beauty, beauty there

This song is intense. Our choir used to sing it on the regular. Just brings back a lot of memories.
I remember when Myrna's homechurch was Refreshing Springs COGIC of Maryland. When my family I joined Myrna was just leaving. For a while I heard nothing of her music ministry and I was sad but I hear she's still going forth. The anointing drips off of her.

You can find this in the new national Baptist Hymnal Or the African American Hymnal
Myrna, you are so classy! I like your ways - lol. May the Lord ever keep you in His Will
Can you find me in the choir? This was a very sad day; somehow, I was trying not to look sad but, I looked mad; not mad at all but, glad that Bishop wasn't suffering any longer and Mrs. Patterson could rest, finally. R. I. P. Myrna still got it!
That is the Voices of Bountiful Blessings from Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Memphis, I think the COGIC jurisdictional choir is singing with them.

Beautiful selection but the words are so true so true!!!
I really love this song and i would love to get the sheet music to this song. I think this would be a great song for my choir to sing.
The choir missed it at 6:59, but it's very difficult when two folks are directing the same song. Like you, I've been singing in GMWA type mass choirs forever. However, one must give some slack here.
