This is an alternative version of the Arcade game Street Fighter 1 which allows the player to select the enemy/boss characters.
Adon is the first Thai enemy opponent. He is a non-selectable character in the normal version of the game.
===== About Adon =====
In SF1, Adon is Sagat's student. After they both lost to Ryu, Adon becomes angry and confronts Sagat for not upholding Muay Thai's honour. As a result, Adon distanced himself from his former master. In the events of SFA2, he challenges and defeats Sagat to claim the title of God of Muay Thai. After he recovers from the injuries of the fight, he hears of a fighter who has mastered the same power that Ryu used to defeat Sagat. Adon seeks to find and challenge this mysterious fighter.
Gameplay-wise, Adon is a great character. His Jaguar Kicks seem to have priority over virtually every other non-projectile move in the game, and his repeating roundhouse kicks seem to have priority over almost every other ground move in the game.
===== Adon Trivia =====
---- In SF3NG, in Elena's stage background, at the bottom level, there is a background character that looks slightly like Adon.
---- In SFA3, Adon's stage background is is based on the real-life Khmer Ruins found in the northeastern part of Thailand.
---- Adon is one of five previously playable characters to make a non-playable appearance in SF4.
---- Like Sagat, his special moves are inspired by a feline motif. In Adon's case, it is the jaguar.
===== Additional Information =====
---- Against some opponents, there is a flaw that briefly freezes and stops Adon and his opponent from doing their jump-in's properly in the pre-fight "intro". After the freeze, the fight begins as normal.
---- In this version of the game, most of the enemie's / bosse's "special moves" are performed by holding Down or Down-Back or Down-Forward and then pressing a [P] or [K] button. Interestingly, this indicates that the enemy jumping strikes are a set routine/move, instead of a free move during jumping. It also explains why you cannot perform any strikes while jumping with them.
---- Despite selecting the enemy characters, the portrait of Ryu (1P) or Ken (2P) is always used for the versus screens.
---- When playing as an enemy character, after you win a round, the winning text will still say that Ryu or Ken won the round.
---- You can still play the 'break-the-boards' bonus games as an enemy character. However the enemy characters often do not have sufficient moves to reach/break all the boards.
---- Obviously the other bonus game where you time the karate chop will always be Ryu or Ken.
---- When you complete the game with an enemy character, it will still use Ryu's or Ken's portraits for the "king of the hill" victory message.

This is where it all began. Who would've thought that this game would develop into a sequel that ended up setting the tone for virtually all other future fighting games?

Adon was the one fighter to bring back! His fighting style, design and personality all look incredibly cool and unique. He just looks awesome!

Adon: I don't need you anymore. You're pathetic! Now, I want revenge on Ryu for taking up my turn on doing the bonus rounds of building up strength to break the boards. I rather take on Ken before I take on Ryu. If any new fighter comes in, then I will injure him.
Adon does not know ahead of time. Sagat does not work with Adon anymore, which is why Adon is not in Street Fighter 2.
Interesting... his Jaguar Kick actually begins with a descending punch that does have hitbox (check round one versus Birdie, the punch hits him first)
Am I the only one who thinks he should have retained his multi-roundhouse kicks in his SFZ version onwards?
Yeah. It's kind of like his staple basic move in SF1. Good to see you active again.

The person playing this game is still doing it on the original Street Fighter 1 game. I read the description, but I do not quite understand what it means. Is it related to tricking the coding of the character, using some kind of cheating device, or hacking the game?
That multi-roundhouse must have been a Super Combo in SFA.

Back when I used to play this game, I always felt that Adon was more lethal than Sagat as far as pure fighting technique BUT...Sagat had the ability to throw fire which took a third of your energy and was far more powerful. Adon was a great character from the beginning. A true Muay Thai fighter. I've always loved the music on Sagat's stage.
