Installed to an aftermarket Sony head unit, plug and play with all cables included, 5 minute job. I have a single din unit in a double din space so there was enough room to put this behind the stereo on the bottom! Being small is a major advantage. The sound quality is noticeably better through my Pioneer 45w RMS 3 way speakers. I added a sub aswell but it has its own amp inbuilt. Major upgrade!
I know this was a couple years ago, but how did you connect your active sub to the radio? Did you have another output from your radio or did you go through the powerbox? If you went through the powerbox? Did you use the RCA that he shows on the other end of the unit? Thanks
@@h0lbs It comes with aux leads Red and White. The go straight into back of head unit on the ports marked for sub so ts part of the aftermarket Sony head unit. The sub is powered off the battery directly.
Did you need a vehicle specific harness I have a double din pioneer with its own harness I think they will all connect up back to the car system wires who knows will have to figure it out lol
I installed a powerbox, and when I try to plug the high input rca's from the harness to my Hertz sub amp, the amp will stay in protection mode, not turning on. If I connect the sub to the low output rca's from the powerbox, it turns on, but then the Hertz amp will not show any voltage so I can set the gain(but sound is playing fine). Its very weird, i have tu tune everything by ear.
Hey, can anyone advise? Suppose I want to install both the VIBE Powerbox 65.4 AND an Android Auto MMI box. What should be the order? Which one if first coming from the head unit?
Are you able to advise how I could install the Vibe Optisound Auto 8 active sub to my BMW F30 2014 using the high input connectors? I cant seem to find anything online. Installing into the factory stereo obviously. Thanks
You could use vibe rapid fit kit and modify the signal cables. Kit comes with high level input RCA cables with splicers on the other end to connect to the original speaker cables. You can cut rca plugs off and use wires to connect to the high level input on the optisound auto 8 (making sure you are connecting the polarities correctly). Powerbox 65.4 also has two male connectors on the harness that are notentioned in this video and in my understanding are high level outputs
What is the RMS per channel? It's not 65W as the 20A fuse wouldn't take that. 65W x 4 = 260w / 14v = 18a x 1.2(give 80% efficiency) is 22A. It will pop the fuse.
You use but 14 but calculate with 12v from battery and not 14 from altenator. Is an class D so efficiency is more like 70% so the 20amp fuse should be sufficient
Right. So i tried this on 3 different radios. A jvc kdxbt and a ebay radio and a brand new pioneer svc 559 euro radio. It worked with none of them in a lexus is200. The pioneer actually kicked up a fault saying amp error. I then returned amp for another same thing. Obviously there is no reason as to how you coukd possibly wire it wrong its all plugs. What i did however notice is when connecting the rca cables the rear speaker on bootlid did work (barely) but no door speakers. When disconnecting the rca cables i had 0 sound off anything. Just wondering would you know why? I have received a refund for it but am still baffled as to why it wont work. Is it cause the car dosent have a factory amp? Is it because the stock speakers couldnt take the amp?
I have bought this vibe amplifier but also the Vibe Rapid Fit Kit, which enables me to connect my active sub to the 12v Fuse and get the signal via crimps that connect directly to the left and right speakers wires coming direct from the factory harness. My question is rather than crimp them to the factory speaker harness can they be connected to the wires that are connected direct to the Vibe amp? And if so which are the wires for left and right? Thanks
I’ve just bought one of these units and the amp doesn’t switch on, there is 12v at the 12v input, I have also tried with and without 12v on the blue REM input, still nothing, the only time it powers up is if I put 12v on the orange REM OUT,
If I buy a set of 2 way component speakers should I still use the crossover that is included with the speakers? Or will the powerbox do that job for me so I can just switch out the speakers themselves and not have to worry about wiring the crossovers?
Any gurus reading through could answer a question for me , Im planning to upgrade underseat woofers in my bmw f10 to harmann kardon , im thinking would this little amp be powerful enough to drive them ?
Yes, according to what I've learned about this amp, when high-level input is used (i.e. in-built car stereo via ISO connector), RCA become low-level outputs.
@@alexander2576 cheers. I have set it up and found that, while the rca output of the powerbox will power the sub, it gives terrible sound quality and is unbearable to listen to. I ended up using high level inputs for the sub too. I was very unimpressed with the amp.
@@funkypotamus thank you for sharing your experience! Do you like the sound quality overall (besides subwoofer)? I'm expecting my Powerbox very soon, I hope it won't noticeably distort the sound from Kia head unit.
@@alexander2576 Yes I like it. I put it in a 2015 berlingo and combined with new alpine door speakers they made a big improvement. The sub also adds great depth to the sound. And it wasn't a very expensive setup all in. I was pissed off that the rca 'out' from the vibe powerbox was so poor.
Does this amp have soft power on/off. Will the speakers pop when turning on/off, and do I need to mount additional delay electronics to avoid this problem?
Search ebay for t harness iso cable for your car and buy a basic vibe 65.4 amplifier (without car specific harness). Vibe are selling their amplifiers as they are and just adding Connects2 (brand) car specific t harness

Hiya, I have a Mégane 14 plate, I have fitted the micro amplifier with the correct T Harness but bizarrely the amp has no sound when started with the ignition yet the amp power light is on. If I switch on the stereo before starting the car it works like a dream, the sound improvement is stunning... Any ideas??? I'd really appreciate some help here, the amp is an amazing device but this little quirk is annoying the life out of me. 😉
Sounds to me like the switched live and permanent live are incorrect. Run a multimeter on the yellow and red cable coming from the iso block and take a reading whilst the ignition is off and then again with the ignition on. Hope this helps.
