How to (in)correctly cluster monsters quickly. Get right up on it, look straight down, and start blasting point blank. I did it as a joke but now it's how I use them because it actually worked.

Awesome video! Something I didn’t hear mentioned but Wyvernsnipe also builds stun damage and can KO if you send it through a monsters head. I was stoked to use wyvernheart but now I’m a snipe fan due to landing stuns!
Just adding some more info for HBG users. I found that the staple build for every HBG would be 3 Defensive Loading, 3 Reload Speed and 3 Guard (you also get 1 Recoil Down if you are using Coral Coil). So instead of changing the whole loadout for each bowgun, you can just swap your weapon (add them to favorites). The only exception if you are using Bblos HBG where instead of Defensive Loading and Guard, you will need Burst instead.
Your information + Shawnzy = Done Deal Edit: For Cluster, I'm sure you already know when is a monster's move will stay in position, but what I usually do is, when my cluster ammo is up, I force the monster to use it's stay in position moves or it's dash moves, then I fire it all after it leaves itself open.
The same could be apply to reload. You could just guard to get 3 ammo or perfect dodge to get 1 and get boosted damage. There is so many set of skill now for perfect dodge and dodging and guarding that boost your damage.
@@markandrada1680 I'm still grinding the parts needed as I've been a GL user for so long and don't have any gunner parts upgraded But my plan is Zin/Aknazom Helm Magna Mail Rathian Vambraces Coral Pukie waist Zin Greaves only need recoil 1 reload 3 for the gun, when I get the materials to upgrade stuff enough to get driftsmeld slots I'll try to max burst, and add some guard, Crit Eye, or Wex
Good video. I’m surprised at how many skills coincide with what I want in gunlance. Was really hoping to find an hbg that specialized in making use of the artillery, guard, and defensive loading skills.
It will be difficult to balance all those skills and add a bit of recoil down as well. Note that artillery only affects sticky ammo so the rajang HBG will be the best one to have artillery.

I use Defensive Reload for replace normal Reload skill, with Basarios HBG have Wywerm Fire Attack as first ammo in the begin, it will repeat the combo tanking to get reload, and shot a massive damage ammo

I've also been exploring elemental damage with some devastating results. The damage output has been so good it's worth sacrificing then recoil and reload buffs. Have been able to take out a 6 star Angianath with a 2 star Jagras assault regularly because of the extra damage output water 5 gives it. I have seen similar results with fire and thunder.

(Think Black Blos Bow, or Bone GL.) So far, I've only made the Bone HBG since I figured it would be very material cheap. However, I'm having a problem clearing quests for tickets to upgrade it because all the monster spawns I see are High Rank and unbeatable. I can make a stronger one, sure, but I don't want to waste materials.
I think the BDiablos HBG is the closes all rounder HBG since it has all pierce which is a great ammo type to have. The Bong HBG has cluster ammo which im not a fan of.
Set your monster tracker to 4 star / 5 star jagras. Alternatively craft some elemental hbgs, and use your regular elemental set on up to 6 star monsters (some 7 stars are also possible like pukei with ele attack 5 unupgraded hbg).
for me.. i prefer burst and reload speed lvl3 (recoil down lvl1 is a must) on BD HBG since it has piercing ammo with fast reload speed but it sacrifies on -30% affinity..

shoot faster means you need to reload more frequently. less damage means you need to shoot more often and so reload more often. i kinda don't feel the improvement on releoading with reload 3 - definitely not gona lose any stats for reaching that while i stay ok wex5ele5ce5
@@PauwerPlays That is the only thing that I'm mad about. BGs identity is the option to pick your playstyle based on the ammo. One of the most diverse in terms of how many builds you can make with just one weapon in my opinion.

just try and get the HBG quests done in DL’s or HAT’s

That is a great build given that pierce activates burst so fast haha! Gotta offeset that negative affinity tho

The ammo rotation mechanic killed cluster ammo.
Never been a fan of ammo rotating every reload. Affects bowgun consistency :(

For high recoil you need at least recoil down level 2 and for very slow reload you need reload speed lvl3
