Hadestown was way better than the Kiss me Kate performance, let’s be real here for a second
Low key pissed that the only attention Hadestown received was a two second shot of Reeve kneeling during that performance and they chose a Dance number from a revival over an original show that was clearly better.

I think Hadestown is the single greatest piece of art created maybe ever, but the Kiss Me Kate performance was incredible. Hadestown is better as a show, but for a Tony's stage Kiss me Kate was just better.

I love Six the Musical, but last year Joaquina Kalukango in Paradise Square... SHUT IT DOWN!!! Her performance was BREATHTAKING!!

I really don't understand how the "Paradise Square" performance in 2022 didn't even get a mention. It got a friggin STANDING OVATION! Seriously:(
That’s what I was wondering. I am a HUGE Six fan and I’ve never heard of Paradise Square before that performance and with the standing ovation, everyone knew what they were gonna get themselves into if they went to the whole show. I was throughly surprised when it wasn’t even mentioned
Seriously!!! It’s the only performance I can really remember from last year’s ceremony.
Was legit getting ready to write! She made me want to see that show and emoted exactly what we were supposed to feel at that part of the show...not to mention she sang her ass off
That's what I just commented. I even downvoted the video even though I agree with a lot of the picks. That was a MISS! That's one of the greatest Tony performances I've ever seen!
I mean...I cried and I hadn't ever had of paradise square, but it was incredible. Also Cynthia Erivo won a Tony for the color purple. The medley they'd done was amazing! 🖤
Being LGBT, I have to give HUGE props to the cast of "Hamilton" in 2016 for their respects to what happened in the Pulse nightclub. I somehow missed seeing this performance at the Tonys that year.
and their response to scamilton. a church illegally changed and put on the show making it homophobic. Lin donated the money won through the case to an LGBTQ+ charity
I'm hetero,but it doesn't mean anything, I think that any person with a functioning brain and a heart should give props to them. Also Lin's speech was so beautiful when he kept saying "and love is love is love is love.... " ❤ 🌈 ❤
“You can’t stop the beat” is the greatest finale group number for any musical that I can remember. I can’t think of a song that makes me want to sing along or dance for that matter more than this one. And with the choreography and energy level, demanding everything an actor can give of course it’s nicknamed “You can’t stop to breathe”.

Can I just say the 2019 performance of Beetlejuice was missing from this list? Super happy with In the Heights and Hamilton being on this list. This list is pretty solid

THE COLOR PURPLE 2016 performance is THE BEST performance I have ever seen live on the Tony’s.
I get that Hamilton is a good musical but THE COLOR PURPLE was phenomenal!
2016 was absolutely STACKED. Both Hamilton and The Color Purple gave me the biggest goosebumps I've ever had and frankly either getting the crown from that year is fair imo

I’m sorry but Newsies performance was way better than Once. Not saying Once’s performance was bad (cause it wasn’t), but Newsies was just way better. It was energetic, captivating, and as you said - made us want to buy tickets before their performance was over. Newsies should’ve been the one listed on here and Once should’ve been an honorable mention.

I'm super impressed that you decided to pick Kinky Boots (my favorite musical ever) for 2013 even though there were so many great performances that year - Matilda, Pippin, Bring It On, etc.
Matilda's revolting children was such an electric performance like kinky boots is good but Matilda should have taken that one
Thank you for including The Wild Party and the song when it ends with Eattha Kitt, she take your breath away. I wish that she would had won the Tony for best featured actress in a musical because nobody remember Karen Ziemba in Contact because that show is the reason there was a new category introduced. Berndatte Peters in Gyspy with Rose's turn is brilliant.

I love come from away, it's one of my very favorite musicals ever and while I do think it should have won, the comet was also great and I wouldn't have been mad if they had won.
Meanwhile while nice, DEH should definitely not have won against either them.

I'm sorry, but there were so many amazing performances like Hadestown that were overshadowed in this video. Picking a dance number from a revival over a diamond in the rough like "Wait For Me" when it was an original piece doesn't sit right with me.

I have to say, I think Come From Away is one of my favourite musicals and it's forever gonna be my favourite Tony performance. Maybe not the best my typical standards, but my favourite none the less.

Good list of Tonys performances, the musical I liked was Hamiton, but the song I like out of this list is hands down Natasha, Pierre &The Great Comet of 1812, I love Josh Groban, and all of his songs, top 10 Josh Groban's songs for a MsMojo or WatchMojo would be nice, good work on this video. 👍
Josh Groban truly is one of a kind, i FINALLY got to see him perform live last June and it was an outstanding performance. My mom had shelled out the extra money to get us 4th row VIP tickets it was truly an unforgettable experience

Okay, I liked Next to Normal. But be real! For 2009, there's only ONE answer: Titus Burgess leading an absolutely SPECTACULAR rendition of "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat" from the revival of Guys & Dolls.

Im sorry, but Beetlejuice was probably one of the BEST performances from 2019. Their opening number is always great. Should've been the option for 2019.

In The Heights is my favorite! Thought that night the energy was as good and rememberable as Rent. I will play that clip on repeat even today. Also loved Spamalot's "Find Your Grail".

The tap performance in ‘Anything Goes’ was amazing, I know it’s a cliche but the really don’t make them like that anymore! It takes a different kind of skill and talent and always entertains - nothing like 40 tappers all in sync!
24: I was four years old when I saw Wicked in the Pantages. Saw it four times. I just love this musical but I find it ridiculous it lost to Avenue Q
The craziest thing about The Wild Party is that there was another show that debuted that same season also called The Wild Party based on the same source material. Both casts were full of insanely talented people.

Am I the only that thinks You Can’t Stop the Beat is overrated. I’m sorry but Bernadette Peters performance was one of the best Tony Awards performances of all time not just 2003. Especially if your a Broadway fan.
I feel that way about almost everything from Hairspray. The songs really succeed at selling the high-energy fun of the show and the colourful personalities of the characters, but they're not songs or performances very high in my rewatch list.

2003 belonged to Brian Stokes Mitchell and his Don Quixote. To this day, I haven't forgotten that one.
This is the worst list Ms Mojo has ever compiled. They really just picked the most well known show out of every year even when that show did not give the best performance. I’m as big of a fan of Wicked as one can get and even I know that Wicked did not give the best performance that night. Y’all really need to get real with these lists for once in your life.
To be fair, the orchestra was going really fast, faster than normal. Idina could hardly keep up
Part of the reason that the performance for Wicked wasn't top notch is because Idina was actually having an asthma attack while in the flight harness already and her rescue inhaler was either backstage or in her dressing room. The Orchestra was also a bit faster, so that definitely didn't help things along. You can actually hear Idina gasping for breath in the clip that they use to show her singing.
