Thoughts are the shadows of feelings Always darker, emptier, and simpler I don't care if they're fake or real I just thank them for showing up at all I have black periods Who does not? But they are not a part of me They are not a part of illness, but a part of my being What am I saying? I have the courage to have them Four o' clock in the morning This sucks I can't go on You set my head too heavy I need that song Those trusty chords could pull me through And early on They saw the warning signs and symptoms all day long We'd sit and dream of better days Where we'd hit the ground running on empty Stories we've been told And all those nights we spent together Never felt this fucking cold When we let the car run in the driveway Kiss you one last time Before we brought the horses in before The storm of '59', of 59', of 59 I can't go on These limbs have grown too heavy I need that song A night on earth could pull me through And early on They saw the warning signs and symptoms all day long Wonder how far from here we'll fall Before we hit the ground running on empty Stories we've been told And those nights we spent together Never felt this fucking cold When we let the car run in the driveway Kiss you one last time Before we brought the horses in before The storm of '59', of 59' Of '59 Of '59 Of '59
alkaline trio was gaining popularity during my early childhood. the entire crimson album, this song, and a few others make me feel nostalgic and emotional. i haven’t been able to pinpoint why and it drives me insane. i’m only 19 but Trio is one of those bands that although i only really started listening to them in the last year and a half, i feel like they’ve been apart of me forever. i saw them at the beginning of this month for the first time and it took me a good two weeks to recuperate from their show. their vibe and lyrics really move me. forever grateful to say i live not far from where skiba grew up, and that i call chicago my home away from home. they give us a good name. trio is just the greatest.
I was about to say I love this band, and just noticed a bunch of similar comments, haha, I think this song brings out that statement. Such a good song!
love this song, reminds me of when i was younger skating around town before drugs and parties. back when it was simple with just you and your friends chilled all day skating around all day just being a kid. good memories

You set my head too heavy
I need that song
Those trusty chords could pull me through
And early on
They saw the warning signs and symptoms all day long
We'd sit and dream of better days
Where we'd hit the ground running on empty
Stories we've been told
And all those nights we spent together
Never felt this fucking cold
When we let the car run in the driveway
Kiss you one last time
Before we brought the horses in before
The storm of '59', of 59', of 59
I can't go on
These limbs have grown too heavy
I need that song
A night on earth could pull me through
And early on
They saw the warning signs and symptoms all day long
Wonder how far from here we'll fall
Before we hit the ground running on empty
Stories we've been told
And those nights we spent together
Never felt this fucking cold
When we let the car run in the driveway
Kiss you one last time
Before we brought the horses in before
The storm of '59', of 59'
Of '59

I know what you mean. The lyrics actually put me in a dark place, but i still listen anyway
久々に聴いたらまたハマったw
シンプルで格好良い。
こんな強い曲は他に数曲しか知らないわ。
I can't get this track out of my head. It is so awesome.

my favorite song from them i love this band Alk3 for life
Easily their best song!!
Jesus this band is phenomenal.
love this song, reminds me of when i was younger skating around town before drugs and parties. back when it was simple with just you and your friends chilled all day skating around all day just being a kid.
good memories
One of my new top 5 Alk3 songs is "Wake Up Exhausted" featuring Tegan Quin of Tegan and Sara. It's like the song was MADE for Alk3!
There's nothing better than a playlist mixed with only the Trio and Bayside. My two favorite bands out there. So great.
thanks dude, never heard of bayside before. good band!
Daaaaaamn same
It's crazy seeing Leeds in this video.
This is my ringtone my favorite song from the best band in the world
My favorite Alk3 song
My favorite band is Blinkaline Trio.
Ahh the good ole days of edited videos.
I love warbrain
Thoughts are the shadows of feelings, always darker, emptier, and simpler...

Oh my god I forgot how much I love this song 😩
Love this band so much since elementary school!
dont blame vevo, blame Vagrant Records. they made the video, vevo uploded it.
Best. Song. Ever- minus the censors
first alk3 song i ever heard
Fix the audio this needs to hit harder than it does
I love you!
I love you guys.
Favorite band ever ☠️☠️☠️☠️
When he sings, he never felt this fucking hold, he means, he never felt this FUCKING cold!!!
Love this songgggggggggggggg!!!
I had a video comp with this song a long time ago and it's just the edit...
My brain melted at 1:08
Thanks man :-)
that static was actually on all the edited versions of this video cause I have it on a tape and it does the same thing. lol.
@slayerized667 it's on Rock against bush too, i think its on the first one
"I can't go on.."
Good thing they showed the clock with 4am
VEVO never felt this FUCKING cold....
Revolución de ideas liberación de espíritus....
❤❤❤❤❤❤💯🤘
@el100783 rock against bush seems like such a long time ago...
⚔🧠
love this song..anyone know the meaning?
It's about depressions and how they can ruin your day and turn your brain into a war zone.
Original video was censored for television. Did you not read? Of course there is an uncensored one
o_o Kewl song`
Awesome song. Can somebody tell me what the spoken part of the song says( song's incipit) please?
What is happened with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker in this video????
@perkuskamui VERY WELL SAID!
1:37 it´s so funny
soo fucking underated...........
come to ireland!!!!!!
And please announce you deserted blood pact more publically!
brilliant song and first comment D:
I never knew this video existed. lol
how come i found an uncensored version then?
Flatouter 2
brilliant song and third comment.
I thought I’ve heard this song before lol
@GUNITsoldieification Grant's just fucking awesome.
does anyone know if the dialogue in the beginning is taken from something? or was it created by the band?
It's 4 am... this sucks.... really sad how many times I have said that to myself...
Great song but the static when they swear, COME ON!!!
Una canción maravillosa. Lástima que tengan que censurarla, que asco de sociedad!
One of the only songs I like of these guys the rest ive heard sounds too disney like
andrew howard Try Hell Yes.
ok
The fuck?
Idk about Disney but whatever you say so
Lol No
Alk3 rules... But I (sound of TV static) hate censorship!
2023
@Proximatic i know what you mean! there music is great! but the whole satanic thing is kinda extreme?
Why is this so quiet?
Still waiting for the remastered video(just like Stupid Kid)
Thus the reason why I said "It's like the song was made for Alk3!" durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
(And pwned)
Nietzsche quote at the beginning FTW
James Fleming impressed you caught that
Favorite philosopher mayneee
James Fleming "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering." same Bukowski however cynical in his honesty also fascinates me!
Rad Life i love bukowski!
Everybody knows, ha, ja
you know that its not vevo censoring the song.......this is a radio edit and a video to play on tv.......smh
Lol Yeah, this video is older than Vevo, I'm fairly certain... At least before Vevo took over all music on TH-cam.
@damnromance Made me laugh.
The drum roll at 1:08 is 66sick! Suicide Machines style! Search "FPB dik" for a punk rock cover of Folsom Prison Blues by Elvis Took Acid.
is it just me or some of the guitar parts of this song sounds like the guitar part of Joy Division's Disorder?
wow. a decent comment section. nice.
No Gaslight Anthem references? wow.
fragzpt trio write this first then brian start singing it verse on "great expectation"
Pretty sure it's the video itself. Not Vevo dude :P
Fuck yeah! Rock Against Bush!
TO SHORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@perkuskamui
Just wait till the FCC gets their hands on the internet! Boy, oh boy.
Yang lagi setress kumpul
@Manofbegging Damn you really do have nothing better to do with your tiem than spew hate do u?! Ah pity!
:D
The reason why I hate "the man" is because they put VEVO on youtube and it gave an Alkaline Trio song static.
@GUNITsoldieification i dont like derek.. i think he overacts lol but i love matt and dan =)
Not a huge fan of punk/indie but I always thought their lead singer has a great voice...
this is not indie wtf
Usually not one to comment on a song but yeah that bullshit static part is annoying I'm gonna go find the half quality non vevo version.
