I had a lot of time to get out of my house, problem was there was nowhere to go. Usually when people leave stuff like this it means they can't take it with them because they don't have anywhere to go & more than likely wound up with a friend or family or in a hotel. I was able to stuff as much items as I could into a storage unit, however we couldn't fit everything into the one unit so whatever we then couldn't fit into the back of our sedan wound up getting thrown out instead of just leaving it inside the house. We left it in a large pile in front of the house at the curb and in the driveway. We then drove to a hotel & bounced from hotel to hotel for months during the pandemic. We stayed in hotels that were close to m y husband's place of work. My son wound up getting sick which was terrifying during covid. We searched for an apt for months, they were either too expensive or required us to have perfect credit or required us to be making 5x what the rental price was per month, so we were homeless for a while. I left the house spotless, broom clean, except for the pile of furniture & stuff we were unable to take with us. I lived in my house for 18 years, raised my son there, lived & loved there for a long time, I bought that house in 2004, my bank screwed up the accounting on the loan & tried to foreclose on me, fought them in court for 5 years, they turned around & sold my house at auction to a local woman who filed an eviction on us 2 weeks after lockdown began in March of 2020. I sued my bank for selling the home during an active court case, I won that case, they had to pay me, but nothing will compensate us for having to go through being evicted like that & tossed out onto the street due to a stupid clerical error & being labeled deadbeats & going homeless. Not all of us who were evicted were people who stopped paying, there was over 600k of us who were foreclosed on in the first 2 months before lockdown & the vast majority of us were thrown out into the street, over a million homeowners in just 2020 alone.

I know exactly what you mean and I tried to rent a house in a bad neighborhood cuz I was doing the hotel thing and they still wanted too much money and excellent credit and make 4 times what the rent was so I said nevermind acting like they were renting a house in a great area with good schools it was the dam hood for Pete's sake. I just held out til I met the perfect private homeowner to rent from and not one of those agencies that run properties. I like having a good relationship with a good homeowner to rent from life is so much better.

They cannot pay their rent but left and wasted a lot of money with the food they left behind. How people can live like this and left a lot of damage to this house is beyond me. Yes, a big deposit when they move in, is a must.

There should be a landlord "blacklist" website to expose these tenants, I have OCD and watching these I want to put on gloves and get the black garbage bags out! :)

Exactly, I think they has enough and left. Nothing got improved. They did not do this! No curtain rods to hang up curtains, why have tarp to cover a plywood wall? Really? No induction stove , nothing modernized. No thanks.!

@@ursulasmith6402I agree with you. I watched several of these landlord videos and yes there are plenty of bad Tenants but there are just as many slumlords. I rented a house once for 4 years and not one dollar was put into the property by the owner except for things I did and didn't bother fighting to get it taken off the rent. Bad landlords and bad Tenants go hand and hand.

You as the property owner should be doing monthly drive by's and routine inspections, I do drive by's and monthly air filter changes on my questionable tenants even dryer vent cleanings or water checks just as a way to put eye's on a property.

I've done a few clean outs in my time, and with this one I see a lot of stuff you could put out at a garage/moving sale on the property and at least have people pay you as they haul the stuff away. I've had sales where I didn't price anything and had buyers "make a pile" and gave them one price for everything in the pile. You could walk through the inside and out and make a scrap pile to haul to the scrapper to recover a few bucks on that stuff. If I were you, I'd sell the barn. It's not doing you any favors filling up with junk every time you rent the property, and you could get some $ for it.

Nice house, and nice area..... Since you own it did you not keep up with your properties? How did you let it get this far? Could you not see there were damaging the property on the outside and affecting the surrounding neighbors?

How do you find such awful tenants? I have had one or two messy ones, but my goodness....you must only rent to section 8. I quit with section 8 about six years ago. So glad i did. One poured engine oil on the carpet. I have issues being a landlord, but you seem to have a plethora of basty, disgusting tenants. Where do you live? Maybe it's the people you have to pick from. Maybe im just fortunate to live where i live

I don't understand people just leave everything behind. I guess all the money they saved on not paying rent can be used for new furniture
I use my furniture and appliances until not usuable.

If they did all that and you just seeing that says you are a slumlord. You should check inspect your property. Don’t blame all that on them. Look at the outside. You didn’t show the house because it needed painting. You didn’t do your part. They nasty but you are a slumlord. Cause you should have inspect the property but it was all about money.
