Peeta's wound wasn't just a cut. It was deep, all the way to the bone. The movie didn't really show how bad it was. He got blood poisoning and was dying and that's why Katniss went by to the feast for the medicine. Oh and in the book the medicine for Peeta wasn't a cream, it was a shot. Great reaction.
In the book there is a lot of pus (which I am glad they took out because I am squeamish). But they should have had Peeta act a bit more out of it to convey the infection. And maybe they could've shown Cato stab him after the Tracker Jacker hive, though they can't use a lot of blood in a PG13 movie, the acting could have conveyed that Cato stabbed him deep, and it wasn't a shallow wound. I don't know. It does look like it needs stitches in the movie but not as bad as it should. I don't blame the OP for not realizing it was mortal.
Peeta (not Peter 😉) burned the bread on purpose, even though he knew he'd get in trouble, so that he had an excuse to throw it out, to get it to Katniss. He just couldn't throw it all the way to her.
The books are amazing, I tore through them quickly. I love the movies, I have always liked dystopian stories. This is one of the best to me. Peter took a beating for burning the bread, thus having to feed it to the pigs. In reality it burnt it to be able to toss some to Katniss. Burning it and feeding it to the pigs was cover for being able to toss the loaf to Katniss. The burnt loaves was loss of some income for the family bakery.
In the book Peeta actually lost his legs and needed prosthetics. I recently discovered the producer of these movies was someone I went to school with in high school. She also produced Crazy Rich Asians. She was very accomplished even in high school.
His mother beat him for burning the bread, but it was the only way he could get away with throwing it outside. He was supposed to be throwing it to the pigs. If his mother saw that he was throwing it to her, she would have beat him even more. I think they're ultimate point they're trying to make with this story is that life was so hard living in district 12 that it was dehumanizing. People couldn't even expect help when they were starving. Nobody else helped her, and the mud really wasn't the biggest issue here.@@explorewithindiamovies7913
hate that youtube messed with all your stuff, bc i used to watch your videos religiously.. now i never get recommended them. gonna have to start checking daily myself. keep it up
After they win the games they do get extra food and a fancy house for themselves and their families but her sister's name will still go into the draw for the next year.
On the surface, it's entertainment. But, it's the rulers grinding in to the people that they lost the war/revolution. They are telling the people, we can do this to your children, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Great reaction! I only saw this a few months ago, i wasn't sure if it would be my type of film, but i loved ut. I watched the sequel immediately after, and the next two films the next day, but this is the only one to make it in my 100 favourite movie list.
I’m not sure why but I really enjoy these dystopian young adult movies…Hunger Games, Divergent, Ender’s Game, The Giver, etc. Please continue the series, the next movie is better IMO.
I love this movie series. I just kept watching it that’s how I felt. Silver linings playbook came out that same year so I was just a Jennifer Lawrence fan at that point. Oh and she a Leo too so that helps lol
When I first watched the movie, I did not like it. I had just finished devouring the book. It was an amazing read. I was excited about the movie, but I walked out so let down. I have learned not to read the books first and if it's a book I have already read, to give plenty of time before watching a movie adaptation. I had to give this one time and put in perspective what they were going for. Now I thoroughly enjoy this series of movies.
I actually liked these movies more than the books. The books should have been titled Katniss & Peeta, cause that's what the books focused on 70% of the time lol
I just want to say, I'm really not a fan of english speakers enabling subtitles on english speaking movies, because they're usually so much a of a distraction for the reactor, you can see their eyes darting down to read, often reading what's happening before it happens. I personally find it disrespectful to the actors as well, to just ignore their performances and read their lines. But even though you enable subtitles, you don't seem distracted by them at all. Thank you!

Fun fact: the little girl, Rue, played by the young actress Amandla Stenberg, also stars in the movie The Hate U Give
She was starving. Throwing the bread was a kindness. He couldn't be obvious.
He still threw bread in the mud . But oh well least she gets to eat huh

The first time, I didn't think I would like it. I thought it was just another movie for kids 😃 but I really liked it 😃😃
That's how I felt about the books. I just read them to kill some time traveling and I ended up really loving them.
Hugs India...keep up the great reactions! And stay positive, good things are ahead for you.

I've actually read the books and seen the movies. The movies were a fair account of the books as well.
I love this movie series. I just kept watching it that’s how I felt. Silver linings playbook came out that same year so I was just a Jennifer Lawrence fan at that point. Oh and she a Leo too so that helps lol
