Not really. For a while in the 70s I carried a 24 volt Jeep battery in my trunk for jumping off cars... Can't do that now ... It would damage the electronics. The higher voltage allows for more efficient power distribution, especially in extreme conditions. Additionally, it provides greater compatibility with military equipment, such as radios and other electronic devices

I heard the military uses 24 volt systems in all their vehicles. Why don't civilian passenger cars do the same? Is 24 volts enough to be dangerous?
