That's a nice looking WPG pup. They're sweet clowns but strong hunters. I owned and hunted a Griff for 13 years. We hunted grouse woodcock and pheasant from Maine to South Dakota down to Kansas. He trout fished with me and was by my side 24/7. He passed away last October. RIP Magoo and thanks for all the birds and great times.
I miss him more this time of year. I enjoyed our trips to the field in the fall. He died on a beautiful late October day and we walked in our favorite section of woods that morning and spent the rest of the day doing his favorite things, going to the bank drive up for a treat, fetching the daily paper, visiting friends I hunted with. I made the appointment at the vet for the very end of the day. I think he knew our time together was ending. He rested his head on my lap and just looked into my eyes till he was put to sleep. I am getting a new hunting partner that should be ready to pick up in January if the breeding takes. But there's always room in your heart for the past ones.@@waynetowers5828
Unfortunately I can't speak intelligently on Pudel Pointers. From what Ive seen with my griff up until now is that he works really close (within 60 yards of me). We will see how that progresses as he gets older and mature if he will extend that further. I have not seen him shy away from any terrain: wet, dry, cold, hot, brushy thorns, he has happily traversed it all. As for the training, he seems easier to train then my GSP. Like he almost enjoys trying to learn/understand what I'm trying to tell him.

I have hound mixed with a wire hair pointing griffon and we can keep up with her.

You can name the dog anything you want. Consider any name put forward as long as you name him Beau in the end.
