Absolutely! It felt like America is in perpetual election mode, made worse by Mr tango.
It's the press. The longer it drags out, the more money is raised, and it all ends up in media advertising. A year after the general election, campaigning will start for the mid terms. The worst of it is that congress spends 3/4 of it's time fundraising and campaigning so nothing gets done legislatively. Elections in most all modern countries take 4-6 weeks start to finish and they don't disrupt the government with ridiculous mid terms. Nothing happens in America, whether health care, politics, education, or religion without middle men filling their pockets.
@@catalinacurio part of why the extremists rose up on both the left and right in the usa is because the usa is in a perpetual election cycle and has been since at least the 1990s. cnn and 24/7 news cycles and the 1994 contract with america and channels devoted to covering nothing but politics/elections called c-span 1 and c-span 2 and then the rise of fox news channel in 1998 that from the begining was pretty much all about politics, and three network cable news channels abc cbs and nbc that mainly seem to focus on political news for their nightly news and weekend news and then the special tv news program 60 minutes that often focuses on political issues... the usa has been almost perpetually in election cycle mode for a long time now
then it gets even worse bc i think it was Obama or someone around the 2008 election may have been someone else, kicked everything off early by begining that presidential campaign nearly 2 full years early as soon as the previous mid-term congressional elections were over, when traditionally no one would have announced their candidacy until the spring of 2008 no sooner then january of 2008 or maybe december of 2007... for that election cycle i think it was 2006 the first candidate announced they were running trying to get ahead of the field, and since then all traditions/customs went out the window and its almost constant news/political/election cycle.
even if kamala gets elected in november 2024 by january no later then february 2024 there will be talk of the next presidential elections in 2028 already and if she should run again or not. they don't even wait til the administration is in place or for the traditional first 100 days in office to start talking if they should be kicked out or not anymore.

We need to go back to the supercharged economy that we had in which we had full employment at 33.3%, black unemployment was at a historically low level, and according to the ERA, we were the world leading producer of energy and we were independent. @@t.r.campbell6585 The US is currently producing more oil than any country in history. The unemployment rate is the lowest in 50 years. The annual inflation rate has dropped down to below 3%. Besides the economy, people are interested in freedom. A lot of people find out about high medical bills when that happens to them. Lowering the price of insulin to $35 is a big deal because so many people have diabetes (I don't). I am interested in public education and affordable higher education. Since I am old I am lucky to have been able to go to the University of California SD when it was relatively inexpensive. I don't want a dictatorship based on false promises.

Interesting comment at the end about a backlash. I think the gentleman is both correct and a little off at the same time. Yes, Trump and MAGA is clearly a backlash against Obama. But we've been in a backlash state since Reagan. For nearly 45 years, we've been in a country where a huge number of people would rather vote against their own economic interests than share the benefits of more left-leaning policies with people of color. It's held this country back in a major way. Our poor infrastructure, the extreme income inequality, reduced bankruptcy and credit protections, the crazy student loan system, and the fact that in time-adjusted dollars the minimum wage today is substantially lower than it was in the 1980s, all come directly from this backlash. But it's fading. MAGA isn't a new backlash: it's a last hurrah from people who have lost the argument and know it. They want fascism and authoritarianism because that's the only way to prevent the country from leaving their ideas in the dust heap of history.

I don't think KH is getting enough credit. This frames everything around political trends and strategy. I'm sure that's right, but also KH leveled up and became a star as soon as Joe ended his campaign. She is performing like a legend. She forged an emotional bond with the base partly because the circumstances were just right but also because of who she is. Something special happened and I can't fully put my finger on how/why, other than that she is extremely likable, vibrant, fierce and down-to-earth and we've been starving for that
