This is by far the most advanced band that there has ever been. Their music will be here long after we leave this planet. I can see their music being played to interstellar travel. And being played on different planets throughout the universe. Robert Plant’s voice will span the ages, Bono beats are one of a kind, JPJ’s genius is also one of a kind and no one, not one compares to the hooks and riffs of the greatest guitar player of all time;Jimmy Page. Together they breakthrough to the subconscious, other worldly dimensions. They are Led Zeppelin! Nuf’said.

I agree - when you listen again -- you should pull up and follow the lyrics along with it.

As always led Zeppelin is the best... if you would like to hear Robert Plant nowadays he's got music coming out with Alison Krauss check it out they have collaborated before it's really good... Also check out Heart singing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy center awards.... Our boys are in the audience.... And John Bonham's son is playing the drums.. note the hat.. the same hat that Bonham wore... These guys are just so special..

Very original rock and roll. They show you a different look everytime, but its still them.

  • @turnsufficient4971

Intro is John Paul Jones pumping bass pedals with his feet and smidgen of keyboards, Bonzo is wailing on a tympano which has a foot pedal to change the pitch of it (it's 29 inches across and made of copper - some call it a "kettle drum"), Jimmy is bowing his electric guitar and using a Gizmotron on it as well. This song was the first song on their final album - quite an opener.
They played it at their two Knebworth shows in 1979 and on all the shows on their 1980 Tour. Some lyrics "...it's lonely at the bottom, man - it's dizzy at the top, when you're standing in the middle, oh aint no way you're gonna stop..."

My older sister introduced me to Led Zeppelin in 1983 (I was 9 or 10) when she gave me a copy of In Through the Out Door. In the Evening was the first song on the album, so it was the first song I heard. I probably rewound and listened to it 10 times before I even let the tape play any further. It totally blew me away, and was my first "Favorite" Zeppelin song. Until I heard :Fool in the Rain" 2 songs later. I've had so many "Favorite" eppelin songs I cant remember them all any more. Thank you, Shelly, rest in peace, I love you and I miss you every day.

My first gig was Robert Plant in 1988 just when he'd started to remember his Zep past.

This was Jonesy’s album and one thing that often gets overlooked is the truckload of tasty, yet understated bass licks on this album. “In the Evening” and “All My Love” are two prime examples.

Been listening to LZeppelin since 1972 My two favorite LZ albums are "Physical Graffiti" and "In Through The Out Door". I love ITTODoor for the clear directive that the wiser, more mature LZ was heading in. ITTODoor gets a lot of negativity & disrespect, but I'm one of those HARDCORE devotees of the album. I bought it new & fresh off the rack and I've been in love with it for more than 40 years....and that will NEVER change. 😃

Nice going, Pope. Really enjoy you really enjoying Zep. This song has grown into one of my favourites, and I suggest you check out two live versions of this: In the Evening Live Knebworth 79 (psychedelic Bonzo opening, spacey Jimmy after) or Page/Plant/Egyptian Orch. (Live Detroit 95) to see how the song (and they) matured. Peace and be safe, man.

I want to play guitar while listening to the sounds of birds touching my heart while flying in the autumn sky. It feels like you put a lot of effort into making a better video. Even in the world, there are many things that can be comforted even in the hardships. A blue landscape is seen by the window today, which gives us a lot of excitement. While holding a guitar in my arms and drinking a hot Americano, I looked out the window and comfortably watched your videos on my small phone. I think I was bewitched by the algorithm. The quality is good and the best. How did your channel have such a wonderful talent that is full of strange charms unique to your videos? You have the ability to make the moment wonderful and attractive. Your video is a good video and I think you are a talented person. I have no doubts that you will do well. I have been so complicated and tired, but I thank you for comforting me. thank you. I am amazed at the excellence of your skills and thank you for taking the time to melt my heart warmly because of your sincerity and hard work in watching the video. I looked up and it was your video. In the dawn sky, the star you see from under the sky is so beautiful and I am so thankful that it adds to the enchantment. I can feel how much time and effort you put in. I would like to give you my heartfelt praise and support for your channel to gradually develop into a very large channel. I'm trying to play.

Fortunately for me I was introduced to this band back in school, 1970. We listened to rock/blues bands like Cream, Canned Heat, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall etc.Subsequently I amassed a few LPs and eventually added Led Zeppelin from their debut album 1969 up to In Through The Out Door,1979. My favourite band, still stands today…Deep Purple.

I lost my beautiful brother not long after he bought this album - in decades I haven't been able to play it - I've not loved anyone more. The reaction videos have helped me reconnect - it fills me with joy to see you reacting the way we first did. Sure, I cry over every wonderful magnificent rhythm from every 4 directions. They epitomize the magic of music, multiplied by 4. Nope, to the power of 4, music... cubed? String theory, Quantum entanglement? They warp time and space, behaving as particles one minute and as waves the next. Perhaps Jon was needed back in the future where rhythm was/IS taught in the womb and earthlings communicate with aliens through percussive instruments and intricate timing. Jimmy has it now " 🤘and if we listen very hard the tune will come to us at last, when all are one and one is all, to be a rock and not to roll 🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥

This album was destined to be their last, John died suddenly and tragically not long after this was released. The end of the 70s seemed punctuated by a number of shocking deaths in Rock.
Zeppelin knew that wouldn't be Zepoelin without John. I think there were other problems that had been developing within the band. Apparently Jimmy's drug addiction was affecting him professionally and he was less involved in the writing for the first time. John Paul Jones and Robert stepped up and were responsible for most of the material on this album. But this one is obviously a Jimmy Page banger!! I just wish I could here the words better, the vocals are literally drowning in that ambient effect, and the lyrics are actually very interesting. The song personifies the 'evening' as a woman and seems to be a warning against being tempted by her, but then of course, "Oh..I need your love...I've got to have it, Ive got to have it!" Lol...

The sound you hear on the opening of the track is not Jimmy playing a violin bow....he is using a device called a "Gizmotron:" "Jimmy Page used a drone effect on his guitar similar to create a sound similar to what he did on the song "In The Light," but instead of using a cello bow on his guitar, he used a Gizmotron to create the effect. The Gizmotron is a guitar processing device invented by Lol Creme and Kevin Godley from the band 10cc to get a strange distorted sound." - Song Facts

You know, this would be a great song for a rap artist to sample. Thinking of the Beastie Boys sampling "The Ocean" and "When the Levee Breaks" - this would be a good one to sample from too! I've been listening to LZ since birth from my parents and the Beastie Boys sampled when I was a teenager. (If you didn't know that they were big LZ fans and used the songs I mentioned above on two of their songs on their album "Licensed to Ill") - you should react to them too!
