Joe Tsai on Why Alibaba is All In on AI

Alibaba Group Chairman Joe Tsai discusses the value and opportunities unleashed by artificial intelligence during J.P. Morgan’s 20th annual Global China Summit in May.
“AI is too important of an area where you cannot just take one path,” says Tsai, who took the stage opposite Kam Shing Kwang, Chairwoman, North Asia, and Vice Chair of Investment Banking, Greater China, J.P. Morgan.
Alibaba is “the only company [in China] that both runs a leading cloud business and competitive in AI,” according to its co-founder.
It’s a winning strategy that has spurred growth in the company’s core businesses, Tsai outlined of the course of his 30-minute conversation with Kwang.
