Why on earth you’d want to drop your lead on every take even when there’s no weed or snags is beyond me.
Avid will catch a few with this.

You don’t have to drop it. It’s like a normal lead clip setup, so you can choose. You can also set them up to be semi fixed, so if a pricked carp tries to shake the hook, it pops free and becomes a safe running lead. Very good for riggy fish.

Very informative Joe, but you missed out one important detail.
After A&E pushed the hook right the way through, did they crush the barb and retrieve it, or cut it off? ;)

The way that it works looks the same with the lead system that mahin brothers from starbaits introduce it many years before. The only difference is that the shape of the lead was for distance.

Does this drop the lead fast on the take ? I am sick of my drop offs getting stuck on tail rubber and swivel doesn’t eject

It's a great idea no doubt, but having recently been trying out the avid lead clips I found they drop the lead every single time if you want to or not, now I'm not a fan of dropping the lead when it's not completely necessary so have moved off them for now & I can't imagine these leads are going to be cheap. Will definitely use if I'm faced with 100% having to drop the lead though..

I can't see why using a different lead clip set up wouldn't work as it is the anti tangle sleeve on the rig that does the hooking. I used this system again yesterday and had 10 bites, landed all 10 and all great hook holds but yeah, the lead dropped off every time. Might be worth trying a different lead clip?

@@nuffinbutfishing them leads must be £2 each, that's dropping £20 of leads, I couldn't do that. I agree though it should definitely work on a different clip, no doubt going to improve hooking & bite rates.

Hi John, Check out our X-Grip tail rubbers, they are designed to provide some extra grip for the euro anglers using large leads. However, when using them for smaller leads 5oz or less they will keep your leads attached unless you really need to drop them to ensure they remain safe.

Ciao
