They went crazy as you can see. I prefer watching old ones (before 2000s) here on YT because they were much more soothing and elegant.
At first glance the commercial at 2:03 min seems normal, I got suspicious, then a cow UFO appeared and I was reassured. Never expect a Japanese advertisement as normal!

A LOT of American Actors go to Japan to do advertisements. They get paid really well, and since Americans usually do not see them, they are not seen as, "selling out". Look up, "U.S. Actors doing Japanese ads", you'll be surprised. That was a central theme in the great Bill Murry (with a young up and coming starlet named Scarlet Johansen) movie, "Lost in Translation". ;)

And some expats who live in Japan always complain about things not going their way, as if it is Japan’s fault. What they fail to realize is that things in Japan are designed for Japanese sensibilities: their tastes, ways of doing things/getting things done (right or wrong), wants/needs differ from other cultures, and it is our responsibility as foreigners living in their country to adapt to said cultural differences. Otherwise, we just sound like entitled obtuse foreigners who cry and complain every time our expectations are not met.
@@atownsen I think it depends on the problems they're complaining about such as if Japan is one of the countries where living expenses are very expensive, then it's something worth noting about if we want to go there in our next holiday....if that's possible and safe nowadays.
And, seriously. People act like there aren't weird commercials everywhere. Like commercials for Gushers, used car commercials where they are all yelling for some reason, the Old Spice muscle guy commercials, spongemonkies for Quizno's Subs, etc.
