My family (my mother, stepfather, and my four brothers) all moved to Okinawa Japan for two years (1973-1975) before my stepfather retired from the Air Force' , we only had one American TV station (for American military personnel and families) so sometimes we would watch the Japanese stations , we never learned full Japanese but it was fun to watch, this brings back memories..
Even with an ocean separating me from this, I can still feel and hear that vintage nostalgia vibing through each commercial. This were just different then (and that was a great thing)
There really wasn't anything like '80s and '90s technology. I miss vhs, going to movie store and picking up a couple of movies and grabbing a box of pizza from Little Caesars. That was my weekend. I was very fortunate to grow up in the '90s. I miss those days.
Saturday morning and after school cartoon shows, going from wired to wireless TV remote controls... those were the days! I was also very fortunate to grow up in the 80's and 90's, it was a good time to be a kid and a teen. The last of the old generation that remembers the time before the internet.

Even Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z could not save the Playdia, so by the end of the systems life they made a few adult games for it to try, and sell the remaining stock.

IMO, the highlight of this compilation is the commercial for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Happy Meal toys at 2:13. I just have two questions about it, though. Why does the Game Boy startup sound effect play during gameplay and why doesn’t Tails have a toy like in the North American and European versions?

There was definitely a lot of computer and weird processor school commercials. I'm guessing Japan had a high demand for OL with new skills right around that time. Speaking of OL, I'll be tuning in next week for that midnight cinema OL Dragon flick, I can't even read half of what it says but seems quite interesting.

Like someone you would call (for a maximum of 3 mins) to hear someone say something nice to you? Just curious, cause that may be the only commercial where I really didn't understand what they were advertising.
