In my personal opinion, William afton/purple guy is one of the best villains I have ever seen in a story. His character is so menacing and terrifying. He is a very evil man, and a very clever man. However, he has also been through some things such as the death of his son Evan in the bite of 83. That being said, Willian Afton is still pure evil. The moment he was mentioned in the movie, the entire theater went silent with dread. The kids talking behind as well as my friend group ourselves froze. That is how a villain shuld be. The moment they enter the scene or are mentioned, the entire mood and tone of the scene is flipped upside down. This music adds to that perfectly Thank you scott
You must not know many stories if you think William is one of the best villains ever. I love Fnaf, but William isn’t some crazy villain. He’s a psychotic child murderer, which has been done numerous times (maybe minus the child part) in fiction. It’s not like he’s one of the greatest written characters to ever be created. You’re also mentioning the bite of 83, which we don’t even know if the bite of 83 exists in the movie. The movies are confirmed to be a different universe, and we don’t even get a bite of 87 mentioned, so for all we know the bite of 83 could be non existent within this universe and William could just be a deranged lunatic.
They really captured Williams psychopathic nature in this movie. He’s so confident even whist he’s being stabbed by many metal rods replacing his organs. Even seals his own fate when he puts the mask back on and shows no fear or regret in doing it. I hope we get to see spring trap in the sequel now
William’s theme is composed of two motifs, both are very recognizable and represent William well. The first and most apparent is the four-note composition. The second is that metallic groan (flute? Cello? Violin?) heard around his appearances. I love how subtle both are, and how easy it is to weave them into any other musical context. The film does good work with motifs and themes, something I love to death in cinema. It’s like a constant background story to listen into and build the scene around. Mike’s got a motif, the Spirits have a motif, Garrett has a motif. They’ll be used well in the trilogy moving forward! See (and hear) y’all there!
Only part personally I’d change is one of the animatronics should have put his helmet back on. Him doing it himself as the springlocks are piecing his body seemed a bit stupid on his part. And tbh think it would have looked better if one of them done it to seal his fate. We see the helmets springlocks most likely have went off at the end when the soul of golden Freddy looks at Afton as he reaches but says nothing as his vocals have been severed. Other than that the finale was amazing. His appearance in the suit out of nowhere fit his character perfectly

Here r my ideas to improve the movie & "review" of it: After first dream, Mike wakes up in the first night to see Bonnie gone, later Chica disappears too (He'd wake up in 2 or 3 A.M.) After one of dream things, u could see eyes of spirits turn black & black tears (Like in minigames & that bad movie jumpscare) for a short moment before Mike wakes up confused Well, combining night 3 & 4 would feel too rushed, imagine truly seeing these robots up close only to see them building forts later Also during night 4, Mike could tell Vanessa that animatronics smell bad, it's called - FORESHADOWING (for Night 5 plot twist) It'd be cool if in night 2 of fnaf movie, it'd be simular to classic fnaf 1 stuff, but all 4 animatronics would try to hunt down Mike, it'd be like in Onaf - Each hour is harder than it's previous one It'd make sense for it not to happen in night 5, as the animatronics knew what to expect & while Mike's sleeping, Foxy came from left & put him in that torture mechanism & Mike would need to get out It'd show animatronics as smart, like they don't fall for the same stuff & do things differently or smth Scratch that! Freddy is fast & has no hook as one hand, so he should be the one to make Mike to torture device in night 5 Funny, isn't it? All Freddy related bots are the ones which lead to death of 2 people Abby knew & almost killed her brother I wish fnaf movie was actually scary, i don't really understand how William uses drawings to control. That custody sub plot also ended kinda badly. Nobody acknowledges death of Aunt Jane, Mike doesn't even know that he was betrayed by her Now here's not actual review: I found "It's me" refference when during one scene in office where everything was glitching I don't mind William having little screentime. I like how at the end, Matthew made him sound intentionally worse cuz of the pain William endures. His final speech was cheesy but i liked it. I feel like it'd be better if animatronics shoved Spring Bonnie mask on his face, instead of him doing so. But maybe it's connected to William sort of narcissism. William took his pain like a champ & didn't gave pleasure to his previous victims as seeing him suffer. Ngl, William had some sort of charm in this movie I like how animatronics dragged him. It looked cool He also mentioned some owner, which means that Henry might appear in sequel My take is a hot one: I hate game fnaf lore, Henry was introduced too late in the story & i prefer One Night at Flumpty's trilogy anyway (Flumpty is my fav fnaf related character) I hope in sequel we get the reason to why PG killed those kids, like it'd be explained by Henry, no worries, i don't want Henry to just be exposition dump. I stopped taking in what wanker here said after they mentioned they hate all fnaf games except 4, HW and SB. Security Breach out of the other FNaF games Scott made himself? Security Breach was just another mascot horror for kids it's just Poppy Playtime but using an IP that's been running since 2014. Which is a disgrace in my opinion. Help Wanted was cool so I let that slide. But Security Breach out of the FNaF games Scott made all by himself? Seriously? And Scott only got help making his games in 2016 with Sister Location. Maybe earlier since voice acting is apparent in FNaF World. This drongo here must've not understand what FNaF is. From my understanding, FNaF may be targeted for teens. But it hides what could make it R rated so well no one realises untill they dig in to the bottom of the pit. Which is why I love the FNaF movie. It hid the gore decently like the games. Though the games did it better but that's because it's just a point and click horror game as people say. And we're not having a movie where the main character spends 2 hours of the movie just closing doors on animatronics to survive for 6 hours in five nights. So what the FNaF movie did was decent enough though it is with it's flaws.

As in the main book trilogy (specifically The Fourth Closet) William uses drawings to control the souls of the children, and their Animatronic counterparts (even though they're all in one bigger Animatronic), When Carlton says the yellow Rabbit isn't their friend, the one girl says yes he is. So Carlton draws a picture of evil spring bonnie, and the kids then hate William, and throw him into the fire. Other terms apply to the first book, The Silver Eyes. Where William (known by as Dave Miller for that book) states why he isn't affected by the Animatronics, because "he is one of them", same with movie William, kinda. Makes perfect sense, the movie was loosely based off of the book trilogy.
Also, for the game lore. You do realize Scott never planned any of it out? He made Fnaf 1 as his last ditch effort in game making, with no plan to make it as big as it was. After the success, he made the second game, and so on and so forth. He made the story up as he went, so you can't blame him for not adding Henry in like, the second game (even though he was kinda mentioned in the second game).

This was an amazing job by the Newton Brothers. It really makes William Aftron seem like he should be on screen terrifying.
Best movie character of 2023 imo (not of all time, just in movies that released this year), I just wish he had more screen time
