Nice work, Commander! I love my DBX's.. I have two, one set up specially for surface missions, equipped with dumbfire missiles to help eliminate hostile troops before I land.
If you bind night vision to a key (or a button on your stick/throttle if you have a HOTAS setup), you can save having to go into the ship menu to turn it on. The night vision comes in handy even for daylight surface missions, as it makes it easier to detect motion.
Also, if you have a slot available in your Maverick suit, you can add night vision to it as well. Makes those dark-side missions SO much easier.

Fly over the mission location and you can see if there are hostiles on site, that way you don't have to land that far.

Made my illustrious return to the game today. Ended in a support ticket to Frontier. Heh.
Hopped in my Cutter, loaded it up, made TEN jumps to get to the market with the best price near me. Discovered my "jump settings" were somehow set to minimize jump distance. But couldn't open the settings menu to change it. Somehow only needed 7 jumps getting back. There's definitely a downside to hauling 728 tons of cargo.
Got back to my home base, couldn't sell the stuff. Couldn't fuel. Couldn't even access the main menu. Had to use Task Manager to kill the game. Turned out to probably be a server sync issue. Jumped back in to find myself 650+ km from the station I had parked in. Flew back, landed, no further issues.
But still couldn't get the menus to open in the galaxy map. System map works just fine. I can't do much when it routes me three jumps to go 9.75 ly. Ain't nobody got time for that. Checked all the key bindings. Mouse, joystick, keyboard, nothing will open the menus. I can move all around the map just fine. But can't do anything other than set an excessively long route. Still, 9 mill for one round trip isn't awful. Have to get the map fixed before I get serious about making money.
That does not sound like a fun time. Sorry you had to go through all that

The game should begin with the player being rewarded for correctly identifying their contact based on a provided description.
Every time I see the lounge I think of how inconspicuous a "contact" would be if they stood at a standing table.
The contacts look so out of place standing with their backs to the windows.
They remind me of Odo the constable from DS9.
Finding the contacts and avoiding the police should be the first step in becoming an elite mercenary.

Love this - what is the the music? The first track. I have been enjoying doing group transportation lately in my Type 7. Nice to chill. Experimenting with a HOTAS and thinking about trying VR too.
The music tracks are from a music pack I bought some time back. Sadly it doesn't really have a track name
