Ahsoka Is Hot Garbage

- Ahsoka Episode 4 continues to set a new low for the franchise as it completely destroys the rules of the World Between Worlds to the point where I have know idea how it works anymore. Also this episode implies that Ahsoka is immune to dying which ruins stakes but whatever, its fine. the only good thing that happens in this episode is Hera might get her leadership rank removed which is 100% understandable considering she brought her son into a warzone. BTW the newest episode of Ahsoka is also bad. thought I'd let you know. :)
Oh yah. At least Thrawn is old, weak, and fat. Definitely worth the trip
Oh and the fact that he is completely incompetent but I’ll talk about it next week >:)
Is it worse than the previous one? :) Impressive. :)
It may be the worst one. It’s pathetic, just like that rainbow Filoni.
@@Film_Sushi it is. I’m not watching them, just the reviews from REAL fans, not these shills like Star Wars Theory.
Disney Star Wars and Dave Filoni fans are one of the prime examples why the fandom is a dumpster fire. Don't ask questions, just consume like cattle.
It amazes me that people think because dave made clone wars he is some sort of directing God that can do no wrong. Thats not how it works james cameron made terminators 1 & 2 and aliens he has also made both avatar movies. Every film maker has their strengths and weaknesses davs strengths are cartoons and having someone more competent than him tell him what to do hes a yes man he will do anything anyone tells him including Kathleen kennedy
@@rhyslightning3037clone wars is stupid tho, i just have to say Darth maul being alive and goofy looking, like wtf
@@LAB500 i enjoy it i think 2003 clone wars is better tho. Filonis clone wars is overhyped, its good but not that good
@@LAB500 Maul being alive was stupid, but you gotta admit that the robot legged crackhead maul with 5 o'clock shadow horns . . . that was pretty sick.
Unfortunately Dave had nothing to do with any of that, it was Sam Witwer (who should be the creative director of the whole franchise at this point)
Putting Thrawn in your show doesn’t automatically make your show good. Those who’ve read Heir to the Empire, will see how what Filoni has replaced was a million times better. Filoni loves to pilfer the EU in order to score goodwill points from the fans. Sadly he’ll always bastardize and water down characters like Thrawn and other ideas from the EU that were implemented in way more engaging and interesting ways. He seems to think the recipe for good Star Wars is simply taking the EU elements he pilfered, Glup Shittos, memberberries, and some nostalgia bait; putting it all in a blender and then pouring out the contents and saying “Look I made good Star Wars!” Sadly some fans will gladly eat the incoherent slop that comes out of that blender disregarding the fact that it lacks any sort of quality character development, writing, or respect for the lore and universe it’s supposed to take place in.
The introduction of Thrawn in episode 6 could not have been done better. In fact, I rate it as the very best thing in SW since ANH. Even the map mcguffin was perfectly done, making TFA look even more terrible than it already was.
@stargazersstudio Perfect description of TFA. Which most SW fans endorsed, though they are now pretending they didn't. And that pretty much says it all.
@@wrathofatlantis2316I left the theaters and said that it was a scene for scene reboot of IV, and it could be considered good as long as what follows is great. I still haven't bothered watching IX... I can at least vouch for my consistency.
@@whiteerdydude I don't see how Solo being back to being an unknown broke smuggler, or the resistance still existing when there is a Republic, makes any sense at all. True consistency would have been to never go see Last Jedi, which I never did. If you find TFA acceptable, it means you accept things that fundamentally don't make any sense at all.
@@wrathofatlantis2316 brudda, spare your outrage. Good movie and acceptable lore are two different things. Tfa was never going to be good from a lore perspective with Abrams working on it because that dude can only copy homework. Doesn't mean the the show can't be enjoyable to watch in its trilogy if its trilogy ended up being good. You will find me to be one of the most severe critic of the direction of star wars out there on the grounds of Disney's story telling and it's not without much justification. But don't think for a second I'll pretend like I can't enjoy a show in a vacuum for it's excellent visuals or the potential story it could have follow.
Every time I think Disney might just be committing a misdemeanor, they go and do a 1st degree Filoni.
I posted some criticsm on reddit how ahsoka is poorly written, dry, blend, and not do the original character justice, while light saber fight quality degraded so much, and got attacked 😂 too bad i enjoyed TCW and rebels...time to let go SW for good I guess.
After everything that happened i will take 1-6, the first five seasons of clone wars and Rogue One

I remember fondly those Daredevil episodes. Back when women were allowed to show emotion.
Ahsoka is what happens when you have Dunning Krueger at play with the writers in believing they are smarter and more clever than they thought. I knew Ahsoka sucked( just watching the clips) but it really shows its bad when there are better shows out there. One Piece Live Action is a good example. While you can absolutely pick at it(Outside adaptation stuff, it's plot is very messy) but the characters weren't. It helps they had clear cut motivations, beliefs and good dialogue. Ahsoka everyone sounds the same line delivery wise, and does the dramatic, slow pauses. Who directed this?! Ahsoka you can hardly call a TV series. It's just a bad movie cut up into bits whereas One Piece felt like a "normal" TV series in how standard the beats and structure were. And I miss that kind of TV.
I don't, and I didn't like the pitiful "villain of the week" structure of the first 2 Mandalorian seasons. "Knowing" that a show sucks, just from watching previews, is an argument against your objectivity. The character motivations are pretty clear at least up to episode 6 (all I have seen), and it is practically the only live action show in all of Star Wars where the villains demonstrably care about keeping their word (or don't get slaughtered like dominoes).... Even the map mcguffin is here an enhancement to the story, with an actual sense of remoteness and distance missing from virtually all of Star Wars... If the initial Ahsoka audience dislike really lasts, it will say a lot about people who initially gave a good reception to TFA (many of whom are now trying to act like they didn't).
@@wrathofatlantis2316 mcguffins are not an enchancement to the story.... also sabine is the main villain of this show what do you mean? she should be executed by the new republic after this special needs version of thrawn utterly fails in his take over. she is a traitor, and if this thrawn was anything like in hos trilogy of books the galaxy would be doomed... she betrayed ezra's sacrifice by giving the bad guys that mcguffin.
the show also fucks with the star wars universe so hard it makes the holdo thing look innocent... sabine is a jedi now? wait they are saying anyone can be a jedi now with barely any real training? well shit... this causes MAJOR problems to the history of star wars... why didnt the jedi train the clones to use the force if anyone can wield it now? why were there only one jedi order and no other light side factions or dark side ones?!? why did palpatine need to do order 66 when anyone can become a jedi and threaten him... he would need to commit mass genocide of most living things in the galaxy, then become the empower of nothing..... it makes everything fall apart, but the trained seals will clap at the nostalgic key jingling when ahsoka drowns for 30 hours and is totally fine because they saw rex in her deam thingy for like 6 seconds then never saw him again....
andors villains were way better than this crap and far more compelling. also thrawn didnt keep his word... he kept to BALENS word and thrawn then started failing constantly while making moronic orders then trying to claim every failure was "muwahahaha part of the plan!"
ahsoka is not a good show, its pretty bad. now granted it is not sequel/book of boba/kenobi or mando season 3 levels of bad... but my god its pretty close. how the fuck did filoni get his own original characters wrong?!?! why do these characters feel more realistic in rebels than they do in live action? thats really fucking impressive to fail that badly.. why did they take the ahsoka movie script and stretch it into a TV series? and if they didnt then this felt like it because soo much dead air was in this, a lot of walking around in silence brooding with no emotion to be found. this is a easy 3.5/10 its bad... i cant even bring myself to be kind and give it a 4/10 as below average, because they cannot even do basic writing 101 and do set up and pay off correctly...
also most of us gave TFA a pass at first because it was the first movie in star wars since revenge of the sith (i dont count the clone wars movie, because that shit was utter garbage) and almost all of us were blind sided by nostalgia and cope like the current disney fans are right now with ahsoka... except most of us woke up to it once the last jedi hit the star wars community so badly it might as well be the Hiroshima 2.0... i wont lie i gave the TFA a quasi pass because we all thought "well they need to play it safe to show they understand star wars and to prove this isnt going to be another prequels thing" well it sure wasnt another prequels... this was leagues WORSE, it was so bad the prequels started looking good and people started to notice the good things about them and now are beloved dispite the flaws. but MAN the cope from modern fans is so crazy they will even gaslight themselves into enjoying the bad writing because they are desperately thinking filoni will retcon the sequels when they are too stupid to notice he is not going to do that, nor would they let him if he even wanted too.
@@ninvusoogoar6098 I do appreciate your honesty that you initially gave TFA a semi pass, and that you admit you were wrong. Most SW fans don't rise to that level. I say this because I remember seeing, in december 2015 on a large forum, Jedi Council I think, that the TFA haters (like me) were a distinct minority, if not downright a small one... Most people describe their "break" with SW as being Last Jedi, which actually means they did gave TFA a pass... I never saw Last Jedi because I did NOT give TFA a pass.
I don't object too heavily to the "elasticity" of the Force rules (even in TFA!), because I assume the Force is some kind of an "occult" thing that defies scientific rules by its nature. What I dislike are characters that are too powerful, and villains, like stormtroopers, that get mowed down like grass. This last point actually hurts even A New Hope in my view, and I would sooner re-watch Attack of the Clones than any of the other films: It has by far the most comprehensive and varied display of the universe, and, on top of that, it makes a demonstration of the world's size by showing plausibly how an entire planet could be "hidden" within it... And it is solidly held together by an investigation that is actually followed through. I mostly care about originality and logic. Many have raised questions about the logic of events in AotC, but their objections are mostly wrong, and they do not seem to notice most of the other movies have generally poorer world building.
I think Andor rose almost to the same level as AotC, but lacked somewhat in epic vistas. The best parts were the political scenes on Coruscan, because such a civilised setting does not give free reign to dumb action sequences. This is what many SW fans fail to notice: A LOT of SW stories take place on "remote" desolate frontier planets, because otherwise authorities would have too much power to regulate behaviour... So the "frontier" settings are in reality just an excuse to help lazy writing with non-existent Law Enforcement (which creates a continuously lawless setting, where no economic life could function, and this is much worse than loose Force rules in my view): All seasons of the Mandalorian were a perfect demonstration of this flaw. It was a poor show, and the mowing of troopers got so bad they had to resort to black-painted "supertroopers": Imagination hardly gets any more dead than this (except TFA and the "bigger" death star). By contrast, Ahsoka hardly makes any of those mistakes in the first 6 episodes I saw, and the emphasis is far more on evocative settings, and circumstances, than on the power level of the characters (except to show their weakness, which is good, and was one of the few good points of Kenobi). That Thrawn's ship is beat-up, and that he does not try too hard to impress us in person, is exactly the kind of unexpected attitude I hope from a story that tries to create a plausible context (in this case, a defeated Empire hiding out very far away). Characters being too powerful in SW is a huge problem, because any display of power should bring the question: Why didn't they use it at an earlier point? Much of Star Wars just falls on its face at this one question, and even the notion of the Force "growing" in a character strikes me, occasionally, as an excuse to cover up these issues. Less Force overall is probably better for most SW stories than more of it...
@@wrathofatlantis2316 I'm fine with the black troopers simply because they are in the lore/canon, just poorly used like most things in Mando.
Didn't care for andor, subjectivity I didn't like how boring the first 3-4 episodes were and it does not help I don't give two shits about andor as a character nor did I from rogue one.
I was entertained by Mando seasons 1-2 regardless of the numerous flaws. S3 was pure shit on the level of ahsoka...
Ahsoka is a case of a writer not understanding their own characters and some how made live action feel like a cartoon yet in rebels the characters felt more realistic than in live action lol. Truly impressive to fail like that. The plot doesn't work, thrawn was bastardized... This tactical genius from heir to the empire made sooooo many tactical errors and mistakes that it's shocking he even won.issue with thrawn is this, a writer cannot write a character more intelligent than they are themselves... Thrawn in this acts like how dumb people are highly intelligent people... Where he failed constantly, bad dumb obviously stupid choices then when they ultimately failed he claimed that too was part of the plan!!
Ahsoka pisses me off the most because it's recent. But kenobi for me took the piss as star wars shows goes.... Sooo much canon/lore breaking
I skipped boba
I enjoyed the force awakens at first till I got in my car and drove home as I realized with dawning horror it was just a copy of a new hope but bigger! I gave it a pass because "Disney is just playing it safe, letting us know they understand it, and will take chances next time".
Last Jedi was the first time I actively debated to myself about walking out of a movie and demanding my money back.... So garbage
Rise of Skywalker... Yikes
If I had to describe each sequel movie in one word each I'd do....
Tfa: rehash
Tlj: disrespectful
Tros: embarrassing
However for me lore/canon accuracy is more important to me along with good writing and if you can get me to root for your character
If Jason is the son of Hera and Canaan, then why does he not look like it. Cut laQain kids were a mix race in the clone wars, what happened here
I guess Dave Filoni doesn't understand how biological hybrids work.
@@liamphibia they literally weren't possible before Clown Wars. Several of the X-Wing Rogue Squadron novels had a plot point of cross-species couples (obviously, for anyone who's not a complete moron) not being able to have bio children.
Cut’s kids are not his kids, just being made as stepfather to them.
The lightsabers have gotten terrible because they're using the stunt sabers now which are basically long tubes. Previous shows used a thin white rod on the handles that special effects would then turn into lightsabers. So the fighting was light and fluid because they were more like actual swords but now they're swinging around glowing baseball bats!
Yeah, they pretty much sacrified the fluidity of the fights to get some ambient light nobody cared about anyway.
Using Hasbro toys for props is just sad.
They used to rotoscope them in the OT and they looked awesome.
Yeah, look at Anakin's Lightsaber in the Ahsoka show, it looks horrible compared to what it looked like in ROTS.
Sabine should be arrested and put to death for Treason like the selfish Mandalorian she is, but she won't, because selfishness is justified in Star Wars, just reference Obi-wan's certain point of view. On the flip side Hera will be thrown out of the Army and stripped of her rank for disobeying orders while Sabine suffers no real consequences of her disastrous actions. Shin on the other hand should become Ahsoka's new apprentice after Sabine is given the death penalty.
Don’t get me started on how Sabine acts in episode 6 >:)
God damn you're brutal.
@@ARandomInternetUser08 Sabine's selfish actions will cause the death of billions, that is brutal and very Sith like. She basically just let Blue Hitler out of jail to start a galactic war. So she is a bad person.

why is she in the world between worlds? why is anakin there? how is anakin there? why did they fight....
Isn’t Jacen the same age as Ahsoka was during the clone wars? Funnily enough none of us would have a problem with him tagging along if this was a Rebels cartoon. 🤣
To be fair Ahsoka did have some level of training. While yes the republic/jedi using child soldiers effectively was wrong, its a bit different than how the show write Jacen as effectively a weak child whose only strength is his latent force powers no one seems interested in developing.

Temuera Morrison's delivery as Rex just sounded like he is beyond done, which is especially funny given I don't think he's ever really given a shit about Star Wars anyway.

When you let your black series figure to dave filoni
Book of Boba was better than this show. I don't know how they managed to botch a series involving Ahsoka and Thrawn, two of the most iconic characters in the SW universe.
The whole first season felt low stakes, the heroes were way too powerful, and apparently immune to everything.
Let's be real, Filoni is a hack. Everyone just makes him out to be a hero because they want Star Wars to succeed.

“Ahsoka fights Anakin in the most clunky way…”
That’s because it looks as if Rosario Dawson is not athletic at all. All of Ashoka’s fighting scenes have been so bad. She is slow. Unsure. Unable to jump in a normal way. Meanwhile we all know Hayden is a master at this now so we can pretty much assume that they are dumbing down the duel because of her. When she gets a “kick” in and makes that snarky remark I was thinking “oh please! The only way you haven’t gotten your ass kicked by now is because of the script and Dave Falloni’s wet dream coming to life”

Hera was just the worst in this show. I know I’m far the only service member in the audience, but the idea of a flag officer acting as a lone vigilante and then mouthing off to elected officials is absolute cringe.
Her taking command of the home one is such a joke, Ackbar would wipe the floor with her in a fleet battle.

It’s interesting to read all these comments, as I LOVE this show and others that are hated by these fans.
I do get a lot of the points in the video and yes a lot could have been improved. I also saw some fights that were not used that was endlessly better than what we got.
But I still love what they made for two reasons: I want more content from this universe and I liked the story.
I agree that A LOT could be improved and there were many bad moments. But I was still barely able to wait for the next episode.
I would rather see 8 episodes of goofy Anakin flash backs or dreams than this series
The title Shadow warrior is taken from a Kurosawa movie, Kagemusha, which loosely translates as shadow warrior. The gas splashing out duel is a nod to Sanjuro , another Kurosawa film. Google “sanjuro blood spray gif”. I agree. The series sucks balls in so many ways. Even The way he uses his references are garbage and lazy.
Thank You soo much for talking about that force echo shit, I know a little from playing Jedi Fallen order and I know enough from that 7 second conversation that Cere and Cal have about his force echo to know that Ahsoka just pulling it out of her ass was total bullshit. Great vid too!

I’ll take that as a compliment
Yooo Sheev, I am eagerly awaiting your video on this trash show
Except for the environment designs, I could not get at all into Arcane. Way too many wizard fights and rule bending mcguffins. I honestly don't know how anybody likes this show. It looks so cheap and lifeless. This entire show is full of nonsensical writing, awkward pauses, wooden dialogue. The Lightsaber choreograph is so clunky compared to Episode's 1-6, nobody dies in this show which makes the stakes feel nonexistent. They made Thrawn an idiot, and Sabine completely unlikable. Bringing back Anakin wasn't enough to save this snooze fest.
I thought The Book of boba was bad…then I saw this show.
You see these two people? Yeah, they’re going to switch places with these two people.
Ahsoka, a Star Wars story. (Queue ending music)
Filoni is a fraud. He is high off the success from The Clone Wars, the best part is that he didn’t even have a huge hand in TCW. Dave is making Ahsoka out to be the most OP character character ever…
I immediately turned off the show in the first episode when it hard cuts to Sabine on a hoverbike and rock music playing after she doesn't arrive at the ceremony. The entire package is one giant cliche. Can't stand it. The show is lazily told too. Incredibly uninspired and a load of shit.
This show is the second worse behind Kenobi
No enough Patrick Bateman… I want more… MORE!!
I will play the entirety of American Psycho for the next video.
It's a shame how terrible the whole show was The actress who played Young Ahsoka was actually really good.

I remember a TV trailer for the revenge of the sith game. I can't find it anywhere now, but i remember distinctly it ended with video game versions of anakin and obi wan fighting battle droids on the walkway on mustafar as allies, and then anakin looks at obi-wan, his eyes flash red and he attacks obi-wan, and the trailer ends. I laughed so hard at that, not just because its the dumbest way to simplify the story, but also because of the use of red eyes to emphasize dark side seemed so stupid. Well good to know its still in use two decades later

I’ve only watched mando, BoBF, Andor since the live action series started being pumped out and honestly SW just doesn’t hit that vibe anymore. However I loved the shit out of Rogue One and I genuinely enjoyed Solo to an extent. The ST, well it’s dog shit wrapped in crepe paper.
Dave Filoni is being hailed as this crazy good and creative master of Star Wars, but all he does every time is replicate shots from other media, beat you over with exposition with a sledgehammer, characters explaining what the audience sees anyway, and dangling the keys. This is all he does. I do not understand how people can praise him.
0:20 I love God !!
07:40 in KOTOR the instruction book says Jedi cannot use armor because it f*cks with their ability to use the force, like speed, bla, bla, bla they just can't use it, period, none of it, only robes... so what the f*ck is Anakin wearing?
You realise you're about 16 years too late, right?
@@Jackson-ub1uv true, but nobody else in the world noticed that? You could use it to make up some weird theory like Anakin turned to the dark side before the emperor asked him to, or turned away from the part of the force that required free flowing movement of the arms and legs. I could go on and on. A Jedi cannot wear armor, the second I seen him in that it bugged the flip out of me 😡
@@JeffreyAllanBackowski Darth Vader wore armour, as well as extensive life-support and cybernetics, yet the issues he faced only came from their purposefully clunky design and the loss of most of his body.
Lots of other Jedi used armour in the Clone Wars without problems, too, from Obi-Wan to Mace Windu.
An obscure reference from an old instruction book is _hardly_ a credible source of information, especially since it's been non-canon for almost a decade.
@@Jackson-ub1uv Darth Vader's limbs were cybernetic, faster than human limbs, thus he could wear armor. Obi-Wan and Mace Windu never wore anything more than their robes in combat. Knights of The Old Republic, produced by Lucas Arts, personally overseen by George Lucas, is not a credible source of information? The way the book explained it, armor restricts movement, limits mobility, how are you supposed to block lasers shot at your head if you can raise your arms above your head. Armor negates some many force powers the Jedi flat out forbid it.
@@JeffreyAllanBackowski Vader's limbs were nowhere _near_ fast, they were instead _very_ slow, heavy, bulky, and cumbersome. Vader has also had armour since his very first appearance almost _50 years ago._ Even if armour _did_ impact a Force-user's effectiveness, that _never_ stopped Vader from going through everyone he ever came across.
Also, who said that armour _has_ to be restrictive? Vader's shoulder armour only got in the way because it was _designed_ to, but the armour used by the Jedi in the Clone Wars, as well as that used by the Clones and Stormtroopers, was _far_ lighter and was segmented, allowing for more freedom of movement.
Great review but why use the word "trash" with the one of two good actors in the entire show? Little Ahsoka was actually good. You should change that
About that not being the world between world... Jason says do u hear lightsabers, she's in that area, go lower.. so facts Ahsoka was in the water! Delirious dream? 🤷 See next comment!

You'd think with their budget they would hire good writers and directors but I guess the force is female now so...
