      They should remaster Splinter cell 1,2,3 like mafia 1 definitive edition or of that quality, then create a new game at some point. they can do the same thing with assassin's creed. They definitely should not create a new Ip but stick to what they know and try to grow the fan base of their already existing games.

    Ubisoft certainly has problems and it stems from talent fleeing the company and economist/lawyers trying to make the company fiscally responsible. But ask yourself this question, can a bakery survive without any bakers? Can a restaurant run without any good chefs?
    instead we have these people trying to monitize things that just should never be monitized in any game. XP boosts and cutting out content of their games or selling them later in small purchases. Also uplay or whatever their platform is called sucks so hard and is the reason I never got into any AC game.

      Ahhh, the famous Ubisoft launcher... The only launcher in the history of launchers with a non-functional ''remember me'' option. And it's been that way for several years now. How hard can it be honestly? I think even a monkey could learn how to fix it just by watching coding tutorials on youtube for 2 weeks. Even Joe Biden would remember my e-mail and password more reliably than Ubisoft launcher. Often times i completely give up from playing a game by Ubisoft because i always have to log-in and do the 2-step verification (which was forced on me in order to play R6 online) Sometimes i feel like Joe Biden when trying to log in into Uplay.. ''T-t-that that.. That thing... Anyway..'' and i close the launcher.

    Ubisoft isn't near it's end, at least, not in the next 5 years. It still has brands that bring interest, it still has IP's that people value and it still has money to spend on development. One or two bad years don't spell the end of a company that big.
    Look at THQ if you really want to see how companies die. They went into debt for multiple years, kept being saved by one game every other year, only to place all their bets on Homefront, which sold well and still wasn't enough to save the company. Ya'll overreact, even though I must say, the criticisms are accurate.

Ubi is like the Disney of video games, a soulless corporation that is a shell of its former self, so a lot of former fans want to see them fail, but they are too big for it to happen anytime soon due to a legacy of money producing brands.

    when children stop preordering, gaming will get back to what it was. companies have no incentive to do literally anything after launch because they pull in hundreds of millions before the game is even playable. all they have to do is make a good trailer and the children cant waste mommies money fast enough. Assassin’s Creed aren’t about assassin’s anymore. Tom Clancy titles are nothing of what made them special. There’s no Rayman. And almost every game has that same soulless vibe to them. Worlds that aren’t believable, forgettable copy pasted characters.

    My theory here as an ex game-dev is that during the plague years they couldn't make all their employees work 180 hour weeks because they were at home, so it just revealed how much underpaid labour is really needed to make games. Take that away, and you get no games in a reasonable timeframe. Plus industry turn-over during this time was brutal, a lot of people left the games industry.

    • @TheDiner50

      What are you talking about? How much unpaid/underpaid what? Games and software makes SO much money that the unpaid work hours where never needed! At worst the games had not made AS MUCH stupid amount of money if people where paid for overtime and such. And if the game got more time to be worked on? Even less stupid amount of money but still ENOUGH to be profitable. That if the game was actually good so people WANT to go and buy it after the time and work investment is put into it.
      There is NO way anything but less amount of money where now going to some rich people that do not need to work a single day more in there life and still be better of then 99% of people.

    Ubisoft is in a failure loop basically and proves that successful mediocrity is actually more harmful to the industry than complete trash. They saw what is successful in Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 2 for example and they tried to replicate it multiple times (even in different IPs like Watch Dogs) to the point where people just saw through that and many of them refused to buy their games. Following stupid market trends didn't help.
    It's understandable why they put microtransactions into their games recently. That's where the failure loop comes in. Many people didn't buy their games because Ubisoft were literally suffering from success with their mediocrity, so they put microtransactions to minimalize their losses but people didn't buy their games because of microtransactions.
    Also they have 20.000+ employess for no reason. EA has like 12.000 and they have every reason to have that many. Ubisoft has bigger employee numbers than Activision/Blizzard, EA, Bandai Namco and Nintendo just to name a few. For what?

I bought all the season passes because they felt pretty worth it for someone who played religiously. Eventually the greed sorta plagued siege after a while, and after the problems kept stacking up, I decided to just give up on the game. I'll play it every so often, but it just ain't the same. This was an impeccable video and I wish you had more subscribers.
    My only nit-pick right now is Legion being “eeeeehhh.” If you stuck around and gave WD1 and the franchise a chance since 2014, it’s actually a total disgrace to everything Ubisoft was building up to. The last 2 games, regardless of what you may think, had a big level of consistency and feeling that still drags players in to this day (just play Invasions on either two games, you’ll still find TONS of active singleplayer sessions).
    Legion, however, didn’t even give you the option to invade a singleplayer session. A generic game to the outsider, yes, but deep in the machinations of everything was a horrible disgrace and the only guys backing it to this day is the subreddit that KNOW Ubisoft practically killed the franchise with Legion.
    …Don’t worry, I still have not lost the point of the video, haha. But sheesh.

    • @KricketGD
      @KricketGD ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. WD:L is such a disappointment and I am sad that they removed any possibility of attachment to any of characters by not making any. Seems like such a crapout. WD2 had an alive-feeling world and characters but with Legion, Ubi took all of that and threw it into the trash. For what? Different powerups I guess? Most of which are useless anyway, as you really only need a hitman character to beat the whole game. Finishing the game didn't feel rewarding because it doesn't even instill the feeling of fighting for your freedom alongside others. The world just seems empty without any one or maybe more character(s) (like in gta 5) to sympathise with. I didn't even bother with the online, because that just seemed like such a boring, unfun grind and an overall waste of time, since the networking was awful.

    @joharakiri ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with everything apart from what you said about Immortals Fenyx Rising. I get that it's easily overlooked among all the recent bs Ubisoft has released but I wouldn't call it generic. Yes, it has some mechanics suspiciously similar to Breath of the Wild and it has microtransactions (which btw are heavily toned down compared to AC) but it just works as a game. By that I mean it doesn't feel like some hastily put together scam. It's charming even. Lots of jokes that usually actually land, a diverse map with many unique puzzles to solve and things to uncover and enjoyable traversal. All in all as opposed to the usual Ubisoft titles it genuinely feels like people made something for players to enjoy, not just buy.
