I don't remember where I read it, but I thought after a few steps of it being clear it should be a pale pink in the end...all in all thank you for the amazing tutorial!
Just as a reference, it's spelled Draught but it'se pronounced Draft ^^ honestly I love your videos though, I'm planning on having a whole wall of these potions
I use the alcohol because water over time gets "scummy" and evaporates really weirdly. Whereas the alcohol stays the same and you may only get a slight amount of evaporation; which you can just refill with a touch more alcohol. If you are only going to use these for a short period of time and don't want them for extended use water will work as well. 😄 I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Water plus food dye goes weird and mouldy in only a week. I used it on a different project and got fed up with having to redo it and clean up. Bleeurgh!
Sean Gere definitely, however silver non glittery glue sticks for whatever reason are hard to find. So I wanted to give an option with regular glue. 😄 thanks for watching!
@@CookingandCraftChick they are common here in Germany. But yeah when I still lived in the states it was hard to find silver without glitter. Not a problem at all. You make a lot of interesting things.
Diana Schofield yep 👍 I just wanted to give an option for people who couldn’t find silver glue sticks ( I have no idea why they are hard to find sometimes) I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
I've watched all your potion videos. Love them. I'm making some for Halloween decorations. What would you use for bat blood, dragonfly wings, goblin guts, and toad tongue? I'm not sure what to do for those.
Ashley D For bat blood you could probably use a similar formula as I used for Vampire Blood. Dragonfly wings can be made with Maple tree "propeller" seeds dried, cut the seed off and voila wings! For goblin guts you could make a green gel solution and add some hot glue strands or some green cellophane shreds for the "guts". For toad tongue I'm kind of stumped 😕 I hope that helps thanks for watching!!!
The Mica in Metallic paint is what gives it, it's effect. So you could just use Mica powder with coloring in the alcohol; however the mica powder can get pricey where as the paint is usually very affordable. I hope that helps, thanks for watching 😊
If you use Gel with this one you won't get the "swirling" effect like you do with the alcohol. The gel will be more opaque than the alcohol too. Every time I have used glue the color settles to the bottom. I made this one quite a while ago and it still looks exactly the same. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
My book is The Wizard’s Craftbook and it is available on Amazon, at Books-a-Million, Joann Fabrics, and some Barnes and Nobles. Here’s a link to Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/1510747664/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=cooandcrachi-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1510747664&linkId=a4e8b6cd93b752cebf228a319e75fbbe
Really cool potion! Did you notice any changes with the mica powder after a few months? Or does it stay perfectly ok with the alcohol in it? I tried to put mica and water and it started going off after a few days but I guess the alcohol is preventing this!
Camille the mica stays the same with the alcohol. It settles obviously but once you shake it up it’s exactly the same. 😄 after years some of the alcohol evaporates but that is it. I hope that helps thanks for watching!
Denise H if you use a rubber stopper, you will have very little evaporation. E6000 glue can help as well. However I made this in August 2017 and mine has only evaporated a little below the black cording. Now it is stored in a cooler room and it is not in the sun either. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@CookingandCraftChick I think you could use a thin coat of the E-6000 on the bottom and sides of the cork. Let it cure before using it to seal the bottle. Might work… 🌼
I wonder how it would look if it was a melted crayon over the top instead of the hot glue? Have you ever tried the crayon? Just curious if it bonds to the cork. Love these potion bottles! They got me hooked on your channel!!!🤗
Flower GemsGirl I have tried crayon, (I tried it with vampire blood) it does and it doesn’t bond. It bonds but it is extremely fragile and breaks off easy. That’s why I usually use hot glue. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Does this effect work with all metallic acrylic paints? I think you've made a mistake in the description, the description says you used lavender, but in the video you use amethyst.
Great! Thanks for explaining about pouring off the extra pigment
If you just want the shimmer effect without too much color, you can use Pearl-Ex powders. They have one called Reflex Violet that would be perfect.
Omg!, your in Perrysburg. I love that place. My son moved to Maumee a few years ago. Small world. Love you channel. 🎃
Thank you!! 💜
Perrysburg and Maumee are great! 😊
I don't remember where I read it, but I thought after a few steps of it being clear it should be a pale pink in the end...all in all thank you for the amazing tutorial!
It’s pale lilac then clear which is why when shaken it goes to lilac and when settled back to clear. 😉
This is amazing. I'm going to create some potions too and your tutorial is really great!
Samrin daSilva thank you and thanks for watching!
Just as a reference, it's spelled Draught but it'se pronounced Draft ^^ honestly I love your videos though, I'm planning on having a whole wall of these potions
It depends on what side of the pond you're from. Americans pronounce it Draft but not the same in the UK.
Sean Gere it’s still pronounced draft here in the U.K. too.
Ruby Bloodstone she inspired me! Check out my channel for my display at my library I did.
@@seangere9698 I've never heard an American pronounce it draft before.
I can assure you it is definately pronounced 'draft' in the UK.@@seangere9698
I love all of these potions, your videos are so inspiring!
Syldrakar I will see what I can do 😉, thanks for watching!
Lol. I was just looking to see if you have done an eyeball video also
Hey guys, it's a great idea. But there's a problem. I've got eyephobia. I know, I know, it sounds strange, but believe me, it's strange for me too!!!
Great!!! When I always try to make these kind of potions, I always could not make it fantastic like how you do!
Use black glue stick then paint with metallic silver paint.
Thanks for the great videos and info, just Great. Michael
Great! Why rubbing alcohol rather than just water?

Could this be made with just purple mica powder instead of the paint
Yes
You can cut out the paint/sharpy pen with silver colored hot glue.
Sean Gere definitely, however silver non glittery glue sticks for whatever reason are hard to find. So I wanted to give an option with regular glue. 😄 thanks for watching!

😊
I like this silvery potion too !!! 💀💀💀
Would the silver glue stick work just as well?
Diana Schofield yep 👍 I just wanted to give an option for people who couldn’t find silver glue sticks ( I have no idea why they are hard to find sometimes) I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
I found them on Amazon
@@CookingandCraftChick can I just u regular glue then cover it with silver sharpie
L/J Gaming as long as the glue is dry you should be able to cover it with the sharpie
A fellow Ohioan! Love your work!
O-H-I-O! 😊💜
Great! I love everyone of your videos. I'm getting my bottle collection together to get a head start for Halloween. Thanks
How can you avoid getting your "potion" clear?
So cool and creepy ,love it😆

Very cool. I can't wait to see your Halloween display. Thanks for sharing!
you know you can use wax beads right?
Yes, however I wanted to give an alternative option to something most people already have.
Can you do Vampire ash using cigarette ash from someone you know that smokes, or from a bonfire or something similar?
Nathan Walker I will see what I can do, 😉 thanks for watching!
I used fireplace ashes.
That piano music makes me think of the Victorian era. I keep getting chills.
Hey!
Metallic paint it's obligatory for this effect in bottle? Thanks 😊

Can you use the clear styling gel as well?
I don’t really know what’s better/ looks longer like it’s supposed to. Glue, alcohol or clear styling gel

I like death
You pronounce it as draft not drot
how is pouring rubbing alcohol so dramatic and creepy with that music
just tell us why
really enjoyed but one thing, it's pronounced draft actually XD not draught
It's draught as in drinking and is pronounced with a sort of f sound but yeah I really like your designs :)
Grace Mullane it’s pronounced the same way you’d say draft
Must have been nargles....
Draft
The piano music is horrible
