I recommend creating proxys, they made my life much easier and fixed all the lag. Close project Settings->settings Performance->Enable Proxy and store it wherever you got lots of space. Go to the project you want Modify->Performance->Enable proxy and choose either 720 or 540 (doesnt matter) And wait for a couple mins while everything gets turned into proxy, you can see which ones are turned by the proxy in their name inside the Import tab
@@granathd Man, I hope you still see this reply. But my pc started acting up. Doing proxy makes it more laggy. When I started using capcut, there wasn't any issue. As time pass by. It is getting lagier. Note: I clear my storage when the videos I edit are already old enough. CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X GPU: RTX 3070 RAM: 32GB
People can say it's a ram issue, it's storage space, those are all good suggestions to check, but its probably actually a CapCut issue when not other software Lags editing the same content... Premiere, After effects, etc. They have pre-caching in Ram. Not sure if capcut has it, and if not, why not ? I Love capcut, and i have a pretty beefy computer, 4090, 128Gb DDr5, Ryzen 7950x, all Gen4 m2, 7000Mb/s, and it lags with just one simple compound clip with a series of images inside it with transitions and a speed up over the compound clip. ;( I can't see the correct timing with all that lagging. I will keep trying other suggestions from the comments.
Capcut pc is just a lagging software. My PC uses GTX 960m 4GB graphics card, the software still lags during playback. This is a goodbye to capcut, I have to learn premiere Pro forcefully now 😅
@@miahdoestech same i have 16gb ram and plenty of storage but it still is some what laggy and slow just tryna think what else could be the problem, did you manage to fix it?
Of a sudden capcut is freezing and not running to view or to voiceover. It was fine yesterday, but today nada. I've rebooted, updated, deleted old videos and cant figure out why it quit working.
THanks for the tips, but none of this is relevant,, sometimes the preview doesn't play at all, , I have a 16GB RAM , Intel i7-9700 CPU, 3.6GHZ, 1 TB of free SSD space,, hmmm
I think this is a Capcut issue. I had a cheapo laptop at 1st and assumed that was the issue. I spent big money on a 2 TB storage laptop with 32 gbs of RAM. Shit STILL lags. Literally everything else on this laptop performs flawlessly except Capcut. Even Adobe Premiere works well, but I want to use Capcut because of all the features it has
It's CapCut. I can be editing, and it's fine. When I add features like filters or adjust the image, it lags. I can't wait to add Premiere Pro or something else.

Capcut is a massive memory hog. It's currently taking up 56% while im just sitting here doing nothing.
