Thank you for posting these books, they are a great series! That said, however, I am a little disappointed that there is only 6 of the 21 books of the whole series available. Having read the books in full, I would like to see an unabridged version, but I do appreciate the reasons for the cut down versions, and, while this does detract from the tale, it is not in a significant way, and the shorter versions, as posted certainly portray an accurate representation of the storyline. With the alternative being that these great sea tales go unheard, the version published is certainly far better than an empty silence! I, for one, fully appreciate the effort required to bring "Lucky Jack" to a wider audience.
Sadly even radio dramas tend to have to reduce a story to fit a serial format - though I think its noticeable that this first BBC attempt tried the 6x30 format and it didn't really make much of an impact. The subsequent adaptations were all broadcast in hour-long episodes on Sunday afternoons, and I guess were successful - but rather occasional, as part of the 'Classic Serial', so it was never a case of a whole series being commissioned. Having started the series I certainly wished they'd carried on with them, of course. After all, radio doesn't have to cope with any of the logistical problems that turning these books into films would present...
It's interesting hearing someone else's interpretation of a character when you have read a book multiple times and have your own interpretation in your head. I'd taken Jack to be more of the sort of person who sometimes forgets to use his indoor voice than this actor but he is still young and perhaps not as confident as later so it still works. Thank you for this, it's very enjoyable!

I must agree with the comment below , David Robb's acting and authority in his voice is the only one in these dramatise stories. Also Benedict Cumberbatch reading the book ' surgeon's mate ' is also very good.

That does seem to be a problem at your end - I've just checked it on my PC and I get audio throughout the entire video. Similarly, the video's been up for some months now and I've not had complaints of it cutting out. Perhaps you're experiencing a problem with your browser?
