The outfit Arthur wears during this mission, the Wittemore, is affected by Arthur's honor level. In a Low Honor playthrough the vest and tie will be red, and in a High Honor playthrough they will be blue.
I really wish R* had done it the other way round... since the game _is_ RED Dead Redemption - a red vest for high honor would have made more sense. But then again - they don't let you keep the best outfits in the game.... for reasons I absolutely can't fathom since they have zero effect on gameplay.

Low budget productions i mean, it is like that? They went to the riverboat (location) gambled on a pokers game, shot the pit boss and afterwards themguards (shoot people) and you steal a swiss watch and some money (steal something)

There's dress up, acting classy, a really pretty environment, you get to spend time with some chars you don't see a whole lot of, etc. I think this is one that's more fun to do fanart or fanfiction of or whatever too because it kinda already reads like something a fan might come up with lol

The flush is higher than a pair

At 4:23, Trelawny literally says what the dealer tells Arthur before he goes all in for the Reutlinger watch. He's secretly assuring Arthur about how he'll have the upper hand during it. So many cool details in this game!

Just wanna say, Trelawny’s heist did better than the ones Dutch plans out. Even without an exit strategy it went just fine. Dare i say it went, swimmingly
The hardest part isnt the objectives to achieve gold medals, the hardest part are those 45 minute walkings to the point you are doing those objectives.
Funny how fashion and relaxation of dress progresses, what Arthur is originally wearing is considered wayfaring stranger/working class attire but would be somewhat formal by today’s standards.
Anyone else notice that straus saves Arthur’s life in this mission ? Yet another instance of Arthur’s life being saved more than Johns. Don’t think you can see it here but go play the mission back yourself and you’ll see straus knocking out a guard who is about to shoot Arthur
It depends on where you move with Arthur. If you run out past the bar it’ll be Arthur in danger, but if you stay behind it shooting, then the guard is about to kill Javier and Strauss knocks him out, saving Javier’s life.
This is one of my favorite heists in the game. But it does make me wonder why Strauss bothers with loansharking. This one mission made the gang more than his loansharking. So why not stick to intricate heists? Less legwork, bigger payoffs and you don't put out nearly as much bad karma into the world
Late response, but it's because loansharking is a more low-risk venture for the gang. Sure it doesn't pay great, but it only requires two people - one to loan and one to collect. Once it's time to collect, you can send someone to (mostly) legally rob them. Intricate heists are high risk and high reward. And frequently they involve shooting and violence, which Strauss obviously isn't built for.
Think this is a bug does anyone know how to get that outfit? (The Wittemore) I discovered it in owned outfits sometime after Guarma, I wore the blazer and changed everything else, then noticed after a while it had disappeared from owned outfits altogether. You still have the blue vest and a tie but this outfit as an item is gone and it’s not at the tailor in st denis anyway. I know it’s a minor technical thing but that blazer looks sweet and for me really suits the reformed Arthur of chapter 6 coming to terms with the life he’s lead and trying to do right by people before the end.
Don’t know why but I get a Gatsby vibe from this mission like Young & Beautiful should’ve been playing on the way to the riverboat I don’t know could just be me I love making Arthur look elegant every time I play this
I love how Javier’s first move once the shootout starts is to give Arthur a rifle since he knows Arthur is the better shot and they’ll have a better chance of escaping if he has a ranged gun
If you've played with more consistency and determination while the poker game is running,you could hear the dealer saying "Don't worry,we're the author of our own good fortune,sir." Almost the Same line that trelawny repeats to Arthur before boarding the riverboat.

I think Javier is exactly the type of person you want in this mission. Javier excels in dynamic environments that require stealth and cunning and can blend in fairly unnoticed.

This and the Gilded cage are my two favourite missions in the entire game
This is one of my favorite heists in the game. But it does make me wonder why Strauss bothers with loansharking. This one mission made the gang more than his loansharking. So why not stick to intricate heists? Less legwork, bigger payoffs and you don't put out nearly as much bad karma into the world
Late response, but it's because loansharking is a more low-risk venture for the gang. Sure it doesn't pay great, but it only requires two people - one to loan and one to collect. Once it's time to collect, you can send someone to (mostly) legally rob them. Intricate heists are high risk and high reward. And frequently they involve shooting and violence, which Strauss obviously isn't built for.
Think this is a bug does anyone know how to get that outfit? (The Wittemore) I discovered it in owned outfits sometime after Guarma, I wore the blazer and changed everything else, then noticed after a while it had disappeared from owned outfits altogether. You still have the blue vest and a tie but this outfit as an item is gone and it’s not at the tailor in st denis anyway. I know it’s a minor technical thing but that blazer looks sweet and for me really suits the reformed Arthur of chapter 6 coming to terms with the life he’s lead and trying to do right by people before the end.

this mission was funny for me because when trelawny said “you can’t go in looking like this” I was literally wearing an outfit called “the gambler” lol

I think Javier is exactly the type of person you want in this mission. Javier excels in dynamic environments that require stealth and cunning and can blend in fairly unnoticed.

This mission is literally the 1899 version of the mission 'Meltdown' from GTA 5.
@roebin It is. Here are my reasons. 1. You freshen up at the start. (Michael gets a nice tuxedo.) 2. You get driven to a special event in a luxury vehicle. (Michael and Jimmy hire a limousine.) 3. The event goes wrong and a huge shootout occurs. So, in the end, it is similar. Why did you get so mad?
@roebin I know that they are 2 completely different franchises, but the missions, in my opinion re similar.
@@harley.8808 Well in Meltdown, it takes place on a movie premiere and not a big high stakes poker game. And the bad guy set things up while the good guys set things up.
