7:54 Glögg, gløgg or glögi is a spiced, sometimes alcoholic, mulled wine, or spirit. Associated especially with Sweden (but also with Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Estonia), it is a traditional Nordic drink during winter, especially around Christmas.
You can get a full wine bottle worth (75 cl) of glögi for a price of a wine bottle from Alko in Finland. That 8 euros would almost buy you a full bottle. From a streetvendor you can get ripped off, but Alko has the best percentages.Trust your local government hooch shop.
the thing there is Helsinki citys Christmasstreet opening, it's really popular for families with kids, parade is after the lights and christmastree gets lights on over there on that marketsquare. one of the things that started my christmas when my son was a kid. we used to chill in that square, watch some shows and artistst and after that the parade started to move and we watched that too ofcourse =)
@@sakarikulo6016I haven't used long johns since I lived in London decades ago and was visiting my parents in eastern Finland and it was -30°c. Because I was living in a warmer country I felt it was so cold here. But then, houses in England were extremely cold during the winter, I had never felt cold indoors before. It really got into your bones. So happy that we have properly built houses in Finland. Now that I'm used to the weather in Finland again I never wear long johns, don't even own a pair.
When Berlusconi visited Finland he was talking shit about Finnish food, but when got reindeer meat in a restaurant, he ordered a second serving of it. Finnish Pizza chain Koti Pizza, made a reindeer pizza which they named after Berlusconi. So much for hating Finnish food, Silvio!
@@mauronicolo89 Didnt find a link, but I read this from article that was published when he died. I google translated this for you: In June 2001, he started his campaign to locate the EU Food Agency in Parma instead of Finland: - Parma means good food. Finns don't even know what prosciutto is. I can't accept that. In June 2005, he mocked Finland, which lost the race for the EU Food Agency to Italy's Parma: - I have been in Finland and had to endure Finnish food, so I can make comparisons. And at 2008 finnish Kotipizza named one pizza as "Pizza Berlusconi" and won America's Plate award for best pizza 😂. He was hilarious man 😊.
I was there at the christmas market today. It was really crowded but fun to walk by and have a look. And nope, didn't buy anything nor 8€ for glögi - too expensive. Today was like - 3, so I was sweating in my long winter coat.
To me -15 or colder is actually cold, so that I don't like going outside. At least in Helsinki which is by the sea, so it's almost always windy. Wind makes the cold twice as worse. 🥶😄
Im Finnish. And those were nice when i was in kindergarden... We have lots of people who could have good home Xmas with the money spend on these tourist things.
I live here in Helsinki and IF I would ever go to that tourist sh!t I would bring at least 3 liters of my own homemade glög there. Those are tourist prices, you know?
They are just eating some burgers, tried to eat some proper finnish cuisine like kampsukeitto/rössypottu. Or elkmeat and squekty cheese soup. or karjalanpaisti.
-6C is a bit colder then midsummer. When its below 0C then it's time to put a light jacket on maybe. -12C you can start thinking about winter clothes. I was in Rome in January before Covid and it was 12C. Everyone was wearing winter clothes outside. 😁Me and my Finnish co workers were wearing T-shirts when it was sunny. People thought we were crazy.
You said that nobody underestimate finish cousin, Your own Prime minister did it. Silvio underestimated and we make pizza on his name: pizza Silversconi, or something. It was only 2nd best world's best pizza. Shame on us.

I can't wait to try it!
-6c isn't cold at all. It's pretty warm actually for a winter weather in Finland. Basic temperatures in winter are below -10c.
It is cold if there's wind. Otherwise is fine.
grazy time, i was on that video.... working at market
Oh really?
@@mauronicolo89 Yes, my winter time start allways working at helsinki christmas market.

You should find a clip where Berlusconi craps on Finnish food (figuratively).
That even gave rise to a Finnish pizza variety named “Berlusconi” 😅
Drop a link 😂
If there's a link i'll do it lol
I haven't seen that one, but I've seen the video in which Anthony Bourdain isn't a fan of Finnish food 😂

Wow, those Helsinki prices are steep. I would never pay 8 eur for a mug of glögi.
It is basically a cocktail because it has alcohol. Kossuvissy is also 8 euros in Helsinki. 😆
Where do you get vodka drink for much less? Alcohol is expencive everywhere (other than beer which is 0,85€ for a can in Lidl).
