  • I'll show you step by step how to upholster a channel tufted headboard, or anything you want channel tufted. The ONLY bit of sewing is the welt. BUT you can now buy welt pre-made at the fabric store. This tutorial is quite detailed but I did edit it down to the bare essentials. if you have any questions about channel tufting please leave me a comment and I'll answer asap. I can also make a follow up video with more details as I have sooooo much footage of this process.

    Its a really good idea, stapling lines of back tacking strip to use a guides. Finished headboard looks really nice. Well done.

    This was super detailed! Loved the final outcome. I just want an actual headboard so mine won’t be in the wall but I’ll def be using this as a guideline...

    This looks amazing! I love your design of the bed and art, lights etc with it. Do you have a video that shows how to attach bed frame? Does the headboard attach to the wall or the bed frame?

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I don’t have a video about attaching it to the wall. I used two screws to hold it to the wall. It didn’t take much because it’s a pretty tight fit wall to wall.

    Brilliant video and good explanations. What material is best is it just any upholstery material? Thanks

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you Tara! yes, any upholstery fabric and even some middle weight decorator fabric will work. If it says appropriate for drapery, pillows, cushions, etc. it'll work for this.

    Very nice. What do you call the type of stapler you used? If you have footage of the main bed headboard, I would be interested in seeing how you did that and what you did to get all the pieces together. Are they screwed to the wall?

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      sure...I can add the middle headboard piece to the end of the video. I did not screw them to the wall..I screwed the pieces together with one screw from frame to frame. So is set the pieces in place against my wall to make sure the heights were exactly lined up, and then leaned them forward and put one screw thru the side frames of the two pieces which pulled them tightly together making the seam almost disappear .

      @@MimzyandCompany kind of stapler are you using?

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My staple gun is a generic brand from harbor freight. It's hooked up to my air compressor that's also from harbor freight. And my three sections are screwed to the wall with one screw a piece. They're really light, so one screw is all they needed.

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm...not sure. I buy Dacron by the roll from my upholstery supplier and I had some on hand, and I also used some that came from Joann Fabric store. I'm really not sure. sorry

    I am struggling to find the tack strip or tax strip? Could you leave a link to where you purchased yours? I love the way you put yours together!

    • @MimzyandCompany
      @MimzyandCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's sold at Joann Fabrics, but not a very big amount. Check with an upholstery supplier in your area, it'll way cheaper. but I'll put a link.

      @MimzyandCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      REIGN OF CHIC I bought the fabrics at my local Boca Bargoons which is a close out store, so they sell everything for $5 per yard. But believe it or not I got that velvet for $1 per yard because it had a black mark. I was able to work around it though.

      Ooh...it's kinda hard. Beautiful but not easy. I'm working on a pair of Barcelona chairs right now that are button tufted and I'm making a video. But they're not deep diamond tufts, they're square. But I'll do deep diamonds soon.
