What to do on an Alaskan SEA DAY (NCL Encore Test Cruise)

- I love sea days! Especially when cruising to Alaska and it is nice and cool outside! We had a great day onboard NCL Encore at sea. We had a relaxing morning, got some work done... and then for some excitement!! We hit the Speedway and had a super fun ride on the go-karts!!! We have ridden before but this seemed to be the best ride as everyone was going at a good speed and not too slow. So much fun!!!
Then we had a wonderful dinner at LeBistro (not in the video as it was a business dinner) and we ended the day watching the BEST show at sea... Choir of Man!! If you have not seen this show, it is reason alone to sail on NCL Encore!!

Lovely shout out to our beautiful west coast of Canada. We live in Vancouver and see the mountains, pristine rivers and Pacific Ocean everyday and feel so privileged to not only live here but share it with our visitors. And it goes without saying, love your videos.
We were supposed to sail from Vancouver next month… but it was moved to next year. We can’t wait to visit!!

Try sailing out of San Francisco, Under the Golden Gate Bridge. It does not matter how cold it is. It is just wonderful. Even if you go North to Alaska or South to Mexico. Or even A 15 Day Cruise to Hawaii. The pacific coast is beautiful.

Sailed out of San Francisco twice...one time on the Bliss. Agree that it is one of the best sail aways ever (1st has to be NYC past the Statue of Liberty).

NY and sailed out on the NCL escape we were a group with 68 rooms what a week they will never forget us and we had the time of our lives I want to try carnival again and celebrity the Royal ship I feel are just to big I rather be outdoors having fun I’m more about what’s in the sunshine and outdoors . The think I don’t like about NCL is I felt sick on the back of the ship and the dining rooms and the grotto

I love love love ❤️ these videos. We also have cruised just the one time about 5 years ago. We were on an ncl as well. Most fun I've had my entire life! Watching these soooo make me want to go again. Convincing the hubby is another thing...with the whole covid thing well, let's just say,he doesn't like to be around people,other than work 🙄😕🥺😑😭

The Encore is by far my favorite ship from NCL. From the lounge at the front of the ship to the Go Kart track and everything in between, top notch. I also love the specialty dining, no complaints, I tried them all, some twice! One of my favorite spots was The District Brew House, on deck 8. Thanks Alisa and Jason for letting me reminisce back to my cruise on Encore.

We gotta have a beer with Jason, we gotta have a beer with Jase. He drinks in moderation and never ever ever gets off his face. He drinks in the cruise ship bar, he drinks in his house back home. We gotta have a beer with Jason so he never drinks alone.
I know I'm just coming in 8 months later, but if you EVER get the chance to see Choir of Man, it's a must see!! We saw them in Cleveland, OH last summer and it's the best live interactive show! They brought beer out to the audience too!! I don't recognize these fellers but maybe they have more than one act going round.
We have seen in on the ships several times, it is our favorite!!

Hi from Wales U.K.! I’m watching tons of your brilliant vlogs , particularly the Koningsdam cruise to Alaska. As a ‘battler of the bulge’ I’d love to see a vlog on eating well (with a drinks package on a cruise) but very healthily whilst on a cruise. We’re booked for Canada and the Koningsdam inside passage cruise in 2025..I’m scared I’ll put on a ton of weight! Great entertaining vlogs…you’re sure adding to my bucket list!! ❤🏴❤

We have a planned cruise in Norway and we are packing sweaters!!! I love that u can eat healthy foods on a cruise but I do balance. Starbucks is an awesome place to work or study!!! 4 days is far too short!!! Hopefully Canada opens their borders for cruise ships soon.
Just got off the Encore from its 1st true cruise this year. The ship is absolutely magnificent, The staff is magnificent. Unfortunately our our entire itinerary changed because we had to have a passenger medical evacuated by the Canadian coast guard on the 1st day. NCL was challenged to make great changes in a in a very short time. I cannot wait to sail again.

You guys need to do a land vacation to Alaska and see more of it. We lived in Fairbanks and Anchorage-they are both amazing. You can take a train from one to the other and stop in Denali along the way.
Oh we definitely want to do this one day!
We were scheduled on encore last April for Panama Canal…obviously it was cancelled. I wish you all were coming all the way up to Seward or Anchorge so we could at least see the ship. She looks so beautiful! Great vlog! Love both of your energy and zest for life:-) can’t wait for the next vlog!

Consider cruising from Seattle/Vancouver to Seward/Whittier, so you can really see Alaska. :-)

Again a great video! Looking forward to my 2nd trip to Alaska on the Encore, last one was the Escape. Funny thing, you cabin is close to where ours will be 14188. We will definitely see Choir of Man, because of this video! I like your guy’s format. Ship tours are okay but living the experience and documenting it makes it feel so much more…. Experienced rather than watched! If you don’t mind, one small critique. When dPushed is talking about the view of the mountains, a B roll cutaway/voiced over would be appropriate. So we can see what see is talking about while she is talking about it. Hope that doesn’t offend because you guys do such great work! Anyway, I enjoy your channel, and will subscribe now!

Planning a trip to New Orleans in near future. I know I want to go to World War 2 museum, Aquarium of the Americas, Riverboat cruise, and Haunted French Quarter tour. Planning a whole week. Any suggestions for other attractions or restaurants.

Hi, I love watching your videos. I think you said we are neighbors. I live in Metairie La. We are going to Alaska July 31st on the Encore. My question is I saw your video where Ya'll was tested for covid before Ya'll got onto the ship. So, I wanted to know what time you suggest we head to the testing before we board? When I booked it said we will board at 4PM now it says 5PM
Hi neighbor! We are in Alexandria!! NCL is no longer doing the at port testing so you can do it on your own. If you have a local facility before you fly, that can work or the at home tests that include a telemedicine proctor. Hope this helps!
@@EECCTravels Thank you so much for the info. I have been though Alexandria many of times I have a best friend who lives in Shreveport . I did find a local place who can test us. I was a little nerve waiting to the last minute to get it done. I guess it was a good thing due to the fact you can not do it at the port anymore.

No plans for Disney right now. We do need to sail with Princess and MSC!
Hey Alisa & Jason! So fun to see ya'll cruising Alaska again. We went a few years ago and are planning on going on the Encore in October this year. My questions: Are the excursions available, like whale watching, outdoor salmon bakes, bus and train trips into the yukon? We did all those things two years ago and really want to do them again. They were our favorite excursions. What can you tell me about these excursions or other excursions that may be available through NCL. Do ya'll have any excursions booked? Thanks!
All excursions are available as usual. We only had the one day in Ketchikan as this was a short cruise.

By now you are probably half way through your Carnival cruise, thank you so much for your videos and info. Question in regards to flying in to Seattle, does the shuttle take you to the port so you can check in your bags then walk to the hotel for the Covid test?
We took an Uber. But we dropped our bags and then went to the testing area.
What was the covid situation on the Encore? It's in the CDC orange color code, still allowed to sail. Did they announce any cases?
For the onboard account, do they charge you the pre-authorization of $300 for every time you buy something or is it just once? I’m just a little confused on how the onboard account works.
If the go-kart is going 40mph and the ship is going 20mph, that's 60mph, isn't it? As long as you're driving towards the front of the ship.

Just an idea. Your video uploads seem to be random. Could you maybe number them, such as Celebrity Edge #1, #2, etc. This would be really helpful and maintain continuity. Parodeejay does an excellent job of it. All in all, love your videos!
They aren’t random, they come out in the order in which they are recorded on the uploads. The ‘live’ videos are real time so sometimes come in the middle of an edited series. It takes us 6-8 hours to properly edit a video so they take a little more time to be released. There is also a playlist for each series.

How much do the go-carts cost and how many laps do you get to do?
They are $15 and you get 8-10 laps.
@@EECCTravels Thank You, That sounds like a way better deal than the Bolt on the Mardi Gras that is $15.00 for 1 lap that takes less than 30 seconds to complete. I will have to see if I can book a Trip on one of the NCL ships that have the go-carts on them as the Breakaway is the only one that I am booked on (for the Vloggers Group Cruise in 2023) for NCL and it doesn't have one.
How do you rate cruise ships for a living? I'd like to do that for cruise ships with dialysis available on them since I need dialysis 3 times a week. Can you give me any information about that?
Go-Carts must have been so fun. Show looks amazing and I recall I have seen them on a vlog you did long time ago. Another Cruise again sound like fun. Guess just in case everything closes again.? Just never know now a days. Stay safe. Cheers.!

They already are...Encore out of Alaska, Jade out of Greece and the Gem will be sailing out of Miami on Sunday. Booked for the Encore in September; can't wait!

Great vids guys!! I saw that in your vids, no tourist used a mask, were you confident with that and the health measures taken by NCL? would you be confident to do a 7 night cruise to Alaska in the current circumstances?? Any input would be highly appreciated!
Yes everyone was vaccinated and everyone was tested before boarding. I felt completely comfortable with no mask and would do 7 days in a heartbeat!
Maybe I missed on your other videos... Is the Encore at "full" capacity, having less people, or maybe less people cruising? It seems there are less people than a normal cruise. Thanks!
No, our sailing was about 30% and the one sailing this week is about 50%.

We did not have to get a test, that starts on 8/14.

We have not been tested, we have no symptoms. Dee was only yesterday evening and they let us know when they received the results since we had spent a lot of time together.

I eat keto. I don’t gain weight on a cruise. Learned that after about the 30th cruise.
Our last cruise was a couple years ago on NCL, they're the only line we will use, but it may have been our last since we know not to get the vaccine.
that all male show was crap. we are scheduled for their Jan 5th 9 day cruise to ABC islands.... we will skip that show.... crap show. Better to lose $100 in the casino. just my opinion. the audience must have not seen any broadway show.
